Welcome to yet another strategy guide I have created, and this time through, it's for the fourth (yes, the fourth) game of the Grandia series, Grandia III. This is my first attempt to write for a new game; all of my other guides, I had beaten that game quite a few times, and I was positive that I had done everything in the game. Seeing as I have already written for Grandia and II, and played Grandia Xtreme, I'm used to the Grandia system, so now would be a good time as any to give it a go. Bear with me, and if you think I should do something to make this guide better, feel free to contact me and let me know. ------- Sky Captain Schmidt was a legendary flyer who flew faster and further than anyone in the world. Although he has faded from the memories of most, he is still an inspiration to a generation of aspiring young pilots. On Titalos Island in the middle of the great Belion Sea is a peaceful village called Anfog. Tucked away in a corner of this village is a simple garage, from which the sounds of hammering can be heard. Inspired by tales of Sky Captain Schmidt, a young man named Yuki is building his own airplane. "Someday I'll leave this village and fly over the sea, all the way to the mainland!" he thinks to himself. His eyes grow distant, imagining the vast sky stretching out in front of him. Nearby, a flaming arrow slices though the night. A horse-drawn carriage races through the forest just ahead of its pursuers. "I must get to Arcriff...!" This thought alone allows Alfina to face her fears and take this dangerous journey. ------- My purpose for this guide: To make sure that you are able to get a perfect game, meaning that you can find all items, learn all of the moves, and see see all there is to see. To sum it up; I will leave no stone unturned, meaning that there will be spoilers, so beware. For this guide, I have decided to create my first (and probably only) full and extensive strategy guide, with everything! It includes the locations of all of the items in the game, lists of all of the items, equipment, Skills, Spells, Skill Books and Mana Eggs, a Bestiary with all of the enemies' item drops, all of the prices at all of the Stores/Shops, and every combination of Mana Eggs in the whole game! W----x----E /|\ Up [=] North Upper-Right [=] Northeast SW | SE Down [=] South Upper-Left [=] Northwest | Right [=] East Lower-Right [=] Southeast S Left [=] West Lower-Left [=] Southwest Things that you should know about Grandia III ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: % If you come close to an object that you can examine, a window will pop up telling you what action you can take with that certain object. Handy. % You cannot carry more than 9 of each item in your inventory. % The yellow squares on your map entrances/exits to different areas, as well as houses, while green markers represent Light Spheres. Not all houses are represented, though. % There are two different kinds of Light Spheres; Rainbow Spheres and Green Spheres. Rainbow Spheres all you to Recover, Save, and Set Up your Magic and Skills while Green Spheres don't let you Recover. % When you view your menu with the TRIANGLE button for the first time, look around at various options in the menu; most options will give you a small tutorial on how they work. % As you gain Special Levels, you'll gain new Special Moves. To power up these Special Moves, you must use them over and over, with a small chance each time of gaining a Secret Method. They are... P - Power is increased (1) S - Execution speed is reduced P - Power is increased (2) R - Recovery time after use is reduced P - Power is increased (3) Everything else should be explained as you progress through the game. After putting disc 1 in your PS2, feel free to watch the intro, then start a new game. Watch this intro; it's of a the life of man starting from his first attempt to fly as a boy, all the way to his daring adventures and rescues of princesses and such; this man is Schmidt, the greatest pilot in the world, and the only one so far to fly across the sea in one trip. You'll then see our hero, Yuki, as he takes off in a plane of his own. A young woman will be walking through Anfog Village; her name is Miranda. When she arrives home, Yuki is nowhere to be found, so she'll have to go 'over there' again to find him. In their Garage, Yuki and Rotts will be working on their plane; their dream is to fly across the sea in one trip, just like their hero Schmidt did. Yuki will hear Miranda coming, so he and Rotts will hide; eventually, Miranda will find them both, and she'll chew Yuki out for not beginning his training on becoming a potter instead of monkeying around with his machines. She'll take the Flight Unit from him, while Yuki says that he doesn't need it, saying he wouldn't even think about disobeying his mother. (His mom??? Yeah, I was surprised too.) You'll gain control, and your adventure will commence! %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.501 - Anfog Village (1) ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [1] You will have to get the Flight Unit [Light Spheres] Miranda's House back from Miranda, so leave the Garage; [Consumables] Healing Herb feel free to walk around the village and [Valuables] Flight Unit talk to the people if you want to. On your map, you should see 4 yellow markers at the south end of town; the second one from the left is Miranda's house, so go there first. There's a Light Sphere in here, which will allow you to recover your HP and MP, as well as save your game. Head into the room to the right, and examine the herbs here; Yuki will yank some of the leaves off and you'll receive a [_HEALING HERB_]. Go into the kitchen to the left and examine the shelf in here to acquire the [_FLIGHT UNIT_]! Now we've got to take this back to Rotts so we can complete the final tests! Head back to the Garage and talk to Rotts; Yuki will give him the Flight Unit, and he'll ask you if you're ready to go. [1] Wait. I'm not quite ready. Choose option 2 to proceed! They'll wait [2] Sure, any time! until dusk, then they'll get everything ready for the launch. Rotts is worried about Yuki because he's never flown at night, but Yuki is as confident as ever. Rotts will light up the ramp, and tell Yuki that he's leaving the village soon to head over to the mainland, and they will promise each other to meet there. They will fire up the plane, and Yuki will take off! Yuki will fly around and enjoy the scenery of the night, and will eventually try to take the plane higher, but he can't do it; someone will start to tell him to try moving the stick again, then he'll realize that someone is with him! Miranda snuck on board with him, which is why the plane isn't flying correctly due to the fact that they're overweight. As they fly along, Miranda will spot someone in a carriage being chased and attacked by some men on horses, and when Yuki approaches them with the plane, one of the wings nicks the carriage and knocks it over, then the plane will spiral out of control and crash into the forest. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.502 - Anfog Woods (1) ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [1], Miranda [6] A man named Kornell will be telling [Light Spheres] At the fork his soldiers to look for the [Mana Eggs] Flare Egg Communicator that was riding in the [Skill Books] Ranger Book carriage, since she seems to have [Enemies] Soldier--------(244 HP) escaped. The scene will switch back Dragonfly Toad-(77 HP) to Yuki, who's trying to salvage at least the Flight Unit from his burning plane. As he and Miranda start arguing again, soldiers will ambush them, thinking that they are the Communicator's bodyguards. You'll then enter your first battle. This battle is a tutorial, so listen to Miranda as she explains it and follow her directions to start getting used to the battle system. After the battle, Yuki says that we need to find the girl that was in that carriage before those soldiers do! Head south and follow the path; you'll see monsters flying around here, so make sure to fight them. I recommend fighting every monster you come across so you can be at a decent level for the majority of the time, and just because it's so much fun! Along the way, you'll come across a treasure chest; go up to it and press X to open it, then walk up to it and you'll receive the [_RANGER BOOK_]; equip it on Miranda so it'll boost her Lizard Hunter Skill. Continue following the path to the fork, where Yuki will run over to the wrecked carriage; she's not there, so Yuki will suggest going to look for her in the woods. You'll see a scene where the girl is being chased by the soldiers, then she'll go inside of a tree trunk to hide from them until they leave; she'll then get out and limp off to a tree, where a man magically appears and walks over to the girl, whom he calls Alfina. When you regain control, head east and just to the east of the Green Sphere is a [_FLARE EGG_] lying on the ground, so pick it up and equip it to Yuki to boost his Fire attack power. Take the southern path and follow it to the end, where Yuki and Miranda will spot Alfina and the strange man, whom she calls Raven; he'll draw his swords, then Miranda and Yuki will attempt to save her, but Raven moves so fast that they can't even touch him. He'll let Alfina do what she has to, then he'll vanish. Alfina will start to say that she's fine, then she'll pass out; Miranda suggests taking her back to the village. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.503 - Anfog Village (2) ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [2], Miranda [6] The next morning, Miranda tells Yuki to [Light Spheres] Miranda's House get some Medicinal Herbs for Alfina, so [Valuables] Medicinal Herb leave Miranda's House and head up to the [Skills] Life Up Garage; Rotts has already left for the [Enemies] Kornell-(300 HP) mainland, so the Garage is pretty bare. Go to the back left corner and get the Anfog Village - General Store [_MEDICINAL HERB_], then make your way ---------------+------------- back to Miranda's House. Small Sword....|.160G........ Leather Armor | 120G She'll tell Yuki to go in and talk to her, Healing Herb...|...4G........ so go into Miranda's Room beside the Wound Salve | 12G kitchen; the girl will formally introduce Revival Potion.|..40G........ herself as Alfina, then she will go to get Cherry Bomb | 6G up and, because of her hurt leg, will clumsily fall into Yuki's arms; Miranda Anfog Village - Magic Shop will come in thinking that something odd is --------+----------------- going on, then she'll apply some of those Burn!...|..60G............ herbs that Yuki got to Alfina's hurt leg. Diggin' | 100G Crackle.|.400G............ Miranda will ask Alfina why she was being Heal | 60G chases, but she doesn't know why, and she's Howl....|..80G............ only trying to get back to her home in Arcriff on the mainland. Miranda will volunteer to take her to Mendi Harbor so she can get back to Arcriff. You'll hear a scream from Gladys outside, so leave Miranda's House, and you'll see that Kornell fellow from the night before; he's says that he's here for Alfina, then Gladys will go on about how she'll be kidnapped and sold into slavery and so on if they don't do something. She'll stomp on his foot, giving her a chance to escape. You will then enter another battle. This battle is just an advanced tutorial; as with the first tutorial, just listen to Miranda and follow her instructions. Near the end, you'll be able to choose between Critical and the Aerial Slash; use the Aerial Slash to cancel his attack one last time. After that, he gets fed up with you and will escape. After the battle, Kornell will flee the village, then Alfina will come out of the house, apologizing because it's her fault that he came. Miranda tells her not to worry, then she'll tell Yuki that we have to leave the village as soon as we can before those thugs return. Alfina will join your party! Go into Miranda's House and examine the Light Sphere to see a new option; Set Up. Check this out to be told that you can use either Light Spheres or Shops to set up your Magic and Skills. You can't do anything about it right this minute, so leave here. The stores are now open! Head to the General Store and buy a Small Sword and a Leather Armor for Yuki, then I recommend buying enough of the Healing Herbs, Wound Salves, and Cherry Bombs to have about 5 of them in your inventory; don't worry about the Revival Potions as much, because we will find more of them when we go through the woods. After you buy those, sell your Silver Wrench and Flight Jacket for 510G, then head over to the Magic Shop! You should still have a little over 740G, so I would buy 1 Diggin', 1 Crackle, 1 Heal, and 2 Howl spells, which should be just about all of your money. If you have any money left, you might want to go back to the General Store and spend the rest of it on Cherry Bombs. Leave the Magic Shop, then go to the gate of the village and talk to Old Andre; he'll give you the [_LIFE UP_] Skill! If you want to, you can talk to Old Andre some more to learn more about Skills, or even learn the 'secret' to killing bears! (His questions are on the left.) If you talk to the Store Clerk near Old Andre, she'll tell you about Aerial Combos, as well as how she got by in the forest, and how she learned so much. (Her questions are on the right.) [1] Oh, never mind. [1] Uh, that's OK... [2] What is a Skill? [2] What's an Aerial Combo? [3] What does Life Up do? [3] How'd you get by in the woods? [4] Teach me to kill bears! [4] Where'd you learn so much? After you're done talking to both of them, go into Miranda's House and use the Light Sphere, then choose the Set Up option and get your party prepared. When you're ready to go, talk to Miranda outside of her house; she'll ask if you're ready; choose 2, [1] Uh-oh! I forgot! and you will depart for the Sabatar [2] Don't worry! We're all set! coast! First, we go through Anfog Woods. *[.NOTE.]* You can still return to Anfog up until the next boss, just in case you need to restock or heal. Also, I'm only going to say this once; I will go through each area once to get the treasure and clear out the enemies, then I will leave the area, then come back and clear the enemies out once again. By fighting all of them twice, I'll stay at a good level, and I will have extra Gold, which is also nice. Do what you want to do. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.504 - Anfog Woods (2) ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [2], Alfina [1], Miranda [6] [Light Spheres] Beast Path, Camp, South [Equipment] First Ring, Staff of Prayer, Hunter's Jacket, Protective Charm [Consumables] Revival Elixir, Holy Water, Storm Stone [Mana Eggs] Wind Egg, Stone Egg [Skill Books] Soldier Book [Enemies] Dragonfly Toad-(77 HP) *[.NOTE.]* You can use the O Gilled Pawn----(96 HP) button to use your sword in the Gilled Shaman--(196 HP) field. If you hit an enemy with *BOSS*-|-Kornell--------(1400 HP) it, then encounter it to go |-Iron Fist------(700 HP) into a battle, you'll get a |-Henchman x2----(350 HP) surprise attack in on them, Fake Mushroom--(116 HP) giving you the advantage in Gilled General-(265 HP) battle. [Mushroom Treasures] Boomshroom x2, White Sulfur x4, Healing Herb x2, Cure Herb, Revival Potion x2, Wound Salve, Storm Stone, Torte's Reedpipe, Cherry Bomb, Quake Stone *[.NOTE.]* You may notice that when you slice open mushrooms in this area, you may get a treasure; the items that you get from the mushrooms in this area are random. There's already a set of items that you can obtain here, as I listed above, but which treasures go into which mushrooms are completely random, so if you see one, cut it. Follow the path for a while, and you'll be told that you can use the SQUARE button to examine your surroundings, so try it; it will cause Search Points to light up. Go to the chest that was lit up and open it, then grab the [_WIND EGG_] that was in it. I would equip this to Yuki, since he does have Howl, and he'll be getting a new move soon called Whirlwind, which is also Wind based. Keep following the path as it turns east, and you'll soon come to some mushrooms; use the O button to destroy obstacles in your way; cut up this mushroom to receive a [_REVIVAL ELIXIR_]. Head south to a fork, then go west to a dead-end with the [_FIRST RING_] in a chest. I put it on Alfina. Head east to an open area, and destroy the three sets of mushrooms here, then continue following the path, and you'll reach another open area after going northwest; there are three more sets of mushrooms in this area, so cut them and collect the treasure as well. Keep following the path, and after you circle around the pond, you'll be at a fork. Go east first, as the path will lead to another open area with lots of monsters, but lots of mushrooms as well. Beat all of the monsters, then cut all of the mushrooms, then open the chest here as well for a [_HOLY WATER_]. Continue south for a while, cross a wooden bridge, and you'll soon come to a stream; get close to the rock in the middle of it and press X to jump over to the other side. At the fork here, head east to a Green Sphere, as well as a chest with the [_SOLDIER BOOK_] inside! Equip it to Alfina (or whoever has the Life Up Skill), then save here if you want to. Head back and keep going west and southwest, and when you come across some mushrooms, slice them open. Keep going west, and eventually you'll reach the Camp. Follow the path, and Miranda will decide to set up camp in this area. Yuki will set up a rope that will make noise if an intruder comes upon it, and Miranda will set up a pit fall just in case anyone tries to approach them during the night. Alfina will go off to get some food to make for dinner while Miranda tells Yuki how cute and sweet and gentle Alfina is. At dinner, Alfina's cooking turns out to be horrible, since she's never cooked before. They'll tell her that they think a poisonous mushroom got in the bunch, just to make her feel better; then you'll have your first dinner scene; just go around your party and listen to what they have to say. Alfina will tell them about her home, and about how she was going to a temple there to become a Communicator; a Communicator is someone who greets the Guardian at Arcriff Temple and conveys its divine words to the people, and that only her family has the power to be Communicators, so basically, they're just interpreters for the gods. When an arrow above Miranda's head says 'end' above it, you can choose... [1] I just want to be up a bit longer. 2 will let you sleep for the [2] Yes, it's time to hit the hay... night, so choose it. While Yuki is on watch, Alfina will come over and give him something to drink. He'll ask her why she's so set on going to Arcriff, and she'll tell him that she has to find out why her and her brother were to become Communicators. During his first ceremony, he refused to talk to the Guardian, then he ran away, leaving behind only his Communicator's Brooch; she has to find out why he did this. After they talk some more, the rope alarm will go off, but to their relief, it's only a rabbit. The next morning, use the Light Sphere and Save, then head south to the next area. As they walk along, you'll see Kornell 'waiting' for them in a net; Miranda will call him a 'muscle-bound pea-brain', and he'll go off, breaking the net, then attacking you! ________ |*BOSS*| Have Miranda use Diggin', then Tremor after ********************* that, and have Alfina use Howl on the [ Kornell-----(1400 HP) ] Henchmen, and have Yuki use either Whirlwind [ Iron Fist---(700 HP) ] or Howl on them until they're gone. Once you [ Henchman x2-(350 HP) ] have gotten rid of all of them, use Miranda's ********************* Force Slash and Yuki's Whirlwind on Kornell to damage both him and his Iron Fist, while [XP] 450 having Alfina cast Crackle on Kornell himself. Watch out for [Gold] 400G his Kornell Buster, as it will nearly kill someone. Make sure to keep everyone healed, and use attack items like the Cherry Bombs, as they'll do over 100 damage to both Kornell and the Iron Fist. The first few minutes are tough, but once the Henchman are gone, you won't have too much of a problem. After the battle, use the Light Sphere once again to save and recover, then head south to South Anfog Woods. Follow the path, and you'll come to a ledge that has a chest on it; you'll have to go all the way around to get to it, so we'll get back to it in a bit. Head west, and you'll come to a fork; slice the three sets of mushrooms here, but watch out, as one of them may be a Fake Mushroom! When you cut them, they'll automatically be stunned, so take this opportunity to attack them. Continue east to an open area, and cut the mushrooms here, then go east and north to reach the chest that we saw on the ledge earlier, and open it for a [_STAFF OF PRAYER_]; equip this to Alfina. Head back to the fork and make your way west and south to another open area; open the chest here for a [_STONE EGG_]. Equip this to Miranda. Head east and follow the path for a while, and you'll get to go down a ladder. Go down it, then head west, jump across the gap, and you'll be at a fork; climb up the ladder first and get the [_HUNTER'S JACKET_] out of the chest for Miranda, then use the Green Sphere if you need to save or rearrange your Magic and such. Go back down the ladder and head west, following the path as it turns east. You should come across some more mushrooms, so cut them, then continue east to be in a very large area; cut the two sets of mushrooms to your north, then continue east, cutting two more sets of mushrooms. Follow this eastern wall to a chest with a [_STORM STONE_] inside, then head directly west of here and along the ledge to some more mushrooms. Move south from here and down to the last level, then head east along this ledge to come to a final chest containing a [_PROTECTIVE CHARM_]. Head southeast to leave the area. *[.NOTE.]* If you go back to the Anfog Woods after you enter the Sabatar Coast, all of the enemies will return, as well as all of the mushrooms with the treasures in it, so you might want to go back through it and collect another set of those treasures up until you reach the Camp again. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.505 - Sabatar Coast ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [9], Alfina [9], Miranda [10] Once you reach the Sabatar [Light Spheres] Beach, Bluffs Coast, everyone will get [Equipment] Hunter's Knife, Admiral's Boots excited to see how [Consumables] Speed Seed, Cure Herb beautiful this area is. [Mana Eggs] Frost Egg, Bomb Egg Miranda will go up onto the pier [Skill Books] Ranger Book, Soldier Book and start walking to the end of [Enemies] Gilled Pawn----(96 HP) it, and she'll hear a voice. She Gilled General-(265 HP) will check out a barrel that is stuck Tortogator-----(140 HP) below her, and when she opens it, she Zoea-----------(114 HP) will find a man inside! After he gets out, he'll start chatting with Alfina, then Miranda will interrupt him and ask why he was stuck in that barrel; he says that it's a long story, and that he's in your debt for saving him. Miranda mentions that they need a boat to get to the mainland, and he'll say that he can get you to there, and he'll introduce himself as Alonso the sailor, and he'll show you the map to the mainland, proving that he is a captain. Alonso will join your party, and you'll regain control. Head all the way east and northeast to the corner of the beach to find a [_SPEED SEED_]. *[.NOTE.]* In this game, not only do the Seeds add to your statistics, but they also recover 100% of your HP/MP/SP! It would be in your best interest to hold on to these and use them when you need to, like in a Boss battle. Go all the way west to a Green Sphere; Alonso comes with a Howl spell, and he's not very good with Magic, so I'd just leave the Magic where it is, but I would take Alonso's Perception Skill off and put it on Miranda. After you save your game, head southwest to the Bluffs. Follow the path to a fork, then go south and follow it to a dead-end with the [_HUNTER'S KNIFE_] for Miranda. Head back to the fork and continue north, following the path as it weaves around south. You will come to a small open area before a Green Sphere; open the chest on the western side for a [_RANGER BOOK_], then so south and open the chest to the east of the Sphere for a [_SOLDIER BOOK_]. Equip the Books you just got on Miranda and Alonso so that they correspond to the Skills they have equipped. Save, then continue west, and when you come to a rather large area, go west and up the small hill; open the chest here for some [_ADMIRAL'S BOOTS_]. Move a little north, then go all the way west to a chest on the edge of the cliff; it has a [_FROST EGG_] inside. Go back to the small hill where the other chest was and make your way south, then east to a fork. Alonso will apologize to everyone; he promises to put everything on the line and win tomorrow so he can make everything right again, and Alfina somehow knows that he'll win. Go north, then go to the back of this tent and talk to the guy behind it; he'll offer to give you an Alheal spell for only 284G! [1] Sorry, I don't need it. Choose option 2 to get the [_ALHEAL_] spell [2] Alheal? OK, I'll buy it. that is well worth 284G. Now, go inside the tent here to be in the Inn, then talk to the guy in the upper left corner; he'll try to sell you some Magic too. [1] I don't need it. Choose option 2 to ask how much, and he'll [2] How much is it? tell you that it's a Burnstrike spell, and it's only 168G! Choose option 2 again to buy [1] I don't really need it. it, and you'll obtain the [2] OK, I'll buy it. [_BURNSTRIKE_] spell. You can also buy Skills here. Just to let you know, the next area is mostly Lizard type monsters, so you may want to invest in the Lizard Hunter skill for your party, and you should have Perception and Counter on all of your characters all the time; everything else is up to you. Once you're done shopping, leave the Inn and head all the way northwest until you reach the ship; Alonso will say that this used to be his boat, but he lost it to Bianca just like everything else. Go onto the ship and enter the Cabin. You'll get to see all of Alonso's treasures that are lined around the cabin; Yuki apologizes to Alonso for saying that he wasn't really a sailor. Alonso will put his map back onto the wall, then Yuki will inquire why part of the map isn't finished; Alonso tells him that the map shows only places that he has been, and it won't be finished until he's seen the entire world. They'll then talk about how Miranda saw her cheat, and Alonso will whisper something into her ear; an idea to win tomorrow. I don't really think that Miranda likes the idea, since she jacks him in the jaw with her fist. Anyway, when you regain control, talk to Alonso once again and he will give you [_1 MEDAL_] to use at the casino to get used to the Arrange Dice game. When you're ready, talk to Miranda to go to bed. [1] No! I'm still wide awake! Choose option 2 to hit the hay for the [2] Yeah, I'm beat... night. The next morning, use the Light Sphere if you want, then leave the ship and make your way to the Casino. Alonso will walk up to Bianca, and tell everyone that the stakes are high, and that he'll have to marry Bianca if he loses; Miranda will go off on him, saying that she can't accept that! (assuming that that's part of the 'plan'). Then the game will begin! Watch as the game progresses, then when it comes time for the last roll, Miranda leans in to kiss Alonso, Bianca will go off! Alonso will use this chance to flip something at the dice to hit one of them so it doesn't land a 12! Bianca now has a giant problem; she has so much to pay, and her secret is out that she was cheating! She'll start to give you everything she's got, then Miranda will yell at her and she'll run off! Alonso will share all of his winnings with everyone in the Casino, then he'll give the Brooch back to Alfina. After Alonso talks to Miranda some more, you'll regain control, as well as gain the [_BOAT KEY_], a [_TRIDENT_], an [_ADMIRAL UNIFORM_], and [_ALFINA'S BROOCH_]. Equip Alonso to the fullest with his new equipment, and if you feel like it, use your 1 Medal that Alonso gave you to start playing Arrange Dice! When you're done, make your way to Alonso's Ship; he'll ask if you have everything. [1] Wait! I'm not ready yet... Choose 2, and you'll set sail for the [2] Sure do! mainland! -Alonso's Ship- ::::::::::::: [My Level] Yuki [11], Alfina [11], Miranda [11], Alonso [10] [Light Spheres] Bedroom [Enemies] Boat Swallow-(72 HP) Yuki will tell Alonso about his plane and how he crashed it, as well as the promise he made to his friend. Alonso will ask him what he thinks it means to be the best in the world; after he tells him, Alonso will give him so praise, saying that he has no doubt that he'll find his dream some day. After you regain control, talk to Alonso, then go and talk to Alfina at the back of the ship. After you do that, go into the Cabin and talk to Miranda; she'll ask if you're feeling okay, and if you want to rest. [1] I want to look around a bit. Choose option 2 to go to bed. The next [2] Yes, I think I will. morning, use the Light Sphere, then head up to the Deck and go to the front of the ship; you'll see what looks like a giant dust storm, then you'll be attacked by a bunch of Boat Swallows! Have Yuki use his Whirlwind while having the others use Howl and Tremor. There are eight of them to start out with, and if you don't start getting rid of them soon, the damage will pile up. After you defeat the first set of eight, you will be attacked by another set of eight! Just do the same as you did before, and you should be okay. After you fight the second set, all of the Boat Swallows get scared off by a dragon! The dragon will land on the boat, and you'll meet the man riding the dragon; Ulf. Alonso will introduce Yuki to him, then Ulf will bite Yuki on the arm (that's his way of saying hello!). Yuki will admire Ulf's dragon, Shiba; Ulf will ask him if he wants to ride him, so go over and talk to Shiba; keep talking to it, and eventually you can try to use brute force, only to have Yuki get knocked on his bum. Go into the Cabin of the ship and talk to Ulf; he's starving, as is the rest of the party, so Miranda will decide to cook up dinner, NOT Alfina! You'll be at a dinner scene; talk to your party around the table to learn more about Ulf, then Ulf will tell Yuki to talk to Sly Captain Smith, err, Sky Captain Schmidt about getting a plane; Ulf is friends with the guy! Alonso then brings up the subject of why the Boat Swallows were here, and he'll says that it's because of the Verspheres; use the 'end' arrow above Alonso's head to learn more about them. The Verspheres are tied to legends of people getting spirited away, and appear with earthquakes, sucking down men, animals, and even towns into an area called the Verse Realm. Ulf says that it's probably like hell, then Alfina becomes disturbed over hearing that, then the scene will end. On the deck, Yuki will ask Alfina what's wrong, and she'll seem really upset about the Verse Realm that they were talking about inside, and she'll start to go off, saying that it can't like hell, because otherwise, something would've happened to her brother. She then says not to worry about it, and that she needs to go to Arcriff soon, then she'll run off. The next morning, use the Light Sphere, then head up to the cabin to talk to Alfina; she'll apologize for last night, then she'll tell Yuki that everybody went to say goodbye to Ulf. Go out to the deck, and Ulf will say that he'll keep an eye out for anything strange, and that Yuki should go to Randoto Island to get some Lem Fruit to give to Schmidt, since he loves them so much. When the winds blow southeast, their paths shall cross again! Now, Fishman Captain----(480 HP) head up the ramp to the north and Boat Swallow-------(144 HP) use the Light Sphere if you want *BOSS*-|-Minotaur-----------(2100 HP) to, then go north and into the |-Fishman Adviser----(960 HP) Underground Caves. Go straight |-Fishman Warrior x4-(420 HP) north until you run into a flower; *BOSS*-|-Excise Sigma--(1200 HP) press O to slice it, then run away |-Pico Alpha x4-(360 HP) from it, as it will explode! Once it's out of the way, open the chest here for a [_PRIEST BOOK_]. I'd equip it on Miranda. There's nothing to the northwest of the entrance, so head northeast and cut the flower to blow the rock away, then follow the path until you have to jump across a gap; jump, then continue along to a bridge where some Fishmen will jump out of the water and attack you. After you take care of them, go southeast, then through an open area and to a fork. Take the northeast path first, as it will lead you to a chest with a [_SLEEP AMULET_]. Go back and take the northwestern path now, then jump across the river to the other side. Cut the two flowers to the north if you want to try to ambush the Zoea, then get the [_SHOCK BLADE_] out of the chest and equip it on Yuki. Make your way west now, and you'll have a choice to either jump over the river or continue north; keep going north, and you'll come to a chest containing a [_HOLY WATER_]. Once you have it, go back down and jump over, and you'll be at another fork; head south and the path will curve around to a chest with a [_FORCE KNIFE_] for Miranda. Go back north, then head west and follow the path past a rock to your northwest, and to another fork. Take the southeast path to a dead end, and cut the flower down here to blow a hole that connects the paths. Go back and head west to an open area, and cut the flower if you want to, though it won't do anything. Go north into this area and cut the flowers as the enemies approach it so it will knock them down and give you a chance for a first strike! After you're done with that, head east and cut the flower to the southeast to blow the rock away and to connect those paths as well. Continue north and northeast, but before you jump over to the other side, grab the [_PANACEA_] to your southeast. Now jump over and go to the Northwest Wall. There's a Green Sphere beside you when you enter, so use it if you like, then start heading west to encounter a small earthquake; Alonso will say that something's wrong in the air, so we should hurry. To your west is a chest all by itself on its own rock, but you can reach it. Solution? Follow the path as it turns northeast, then cut the flower and wait for it to explode; the rock will roll down towards the chest and form a bridge in the gap, so go back southwest and open the chest for a [_HUNTER BOOK_]. Go northeast and follow the path west past where the rock was, and you'll come across another flower; cut it to blow a chunk out of the wall, then grab the [_WATER RING_] out of the chest there. Move west and climb down the ladder here, and follow along the path; you will see some eggs lying around; they work like the mushrooms, since you can cut them if you want, but some of them will release more Boat Swallows. Continue along, and cut the eggs in the northwest corner of this area to find a [_BOMB EGG_] near them. Head east and up two ladders, then continue east, staying close to the edge of the cliff; by doing this, it will crumble underneath you, saving you some walking time. Follow the path as it goes west, then south and east; follow along the edge here as well so you can fall below. At this level, just head all the way west until you reach a chest that you probably saw earlier; there's a [_COTTON ROBE_] in this one. Head all the way east, but don't go up the ladder to the north yet; take the one to the south down, then go southwest and push the rock across the gap to make a shortcut. Now go up the last ladder, then go north and up this one, then up the one to the northeast as well. Go east to the fork, then southeast to find a chest with a [_THUNDER EGG_] inside. Equip it to Yuki, then follow the path some more, and when you come to a fork where you can either jump to the north or go south, choose to go south to find a [_REVIVAL POTION_] in a chest, as well as a few eggs with a Boat Swallow inside. Go north and jump over the gap, then follow the path as it turns west, then go up the ladder, and continue all the way west to find a [_MIRACLE ELIXIR_] in a chest. Go back a little ways, then go north to the Mountaintop. Use the Light Sphere here to recover and save. Follow the path to the Lem Tree, where you'll see a Minotaur up on the ledge; it'll jump down and attack you!(It just wouldn't be a Grandia on PS2 if there isn't a Minotaur, would it?) ________ |*BOSS*| This battle is tough! If you see the **************************** Minotaur about to use Ground Crush, do [ Minotaur-----------(2100 HP) ] what you can to cancel it, as it will [ Fishman Adviser----(960 HP) ] do serious damage to a range of party [ Fishman Warrior x4-(420 HP) ] members. Focus on getting rid of the **************************** Fishmen first, using attacks like Tremor, Miranda's Force Slash, and [XP] 1392 Yuki's Whirlwind. Also try to keep the Fishmen from [Gold] 360G using Snooze, as that is just as annoying as everything [Items] Rain Egg else. Once it's down to you and the Minotaur, use all of your best Magic like Burnstrike and Crackle, as well as your moves. Have Alfina keep everyone healed; with Alheal, it shouldn't be a problem. Just like the battle with Kornell, it's tough while the cronies are hanging around, but when it's down to just the big guy, it's not nearly as hard. (Pick up the Rain Egg after the battle, and equip it on Alfina.) Go up to the Lem Tree and pick up the [_LEM FRUIT_]; Yuki starts to get excited, but then the earthquakes start again, making everyone worry. Start to make your way back, and the earthquakes will grow even more violent, and everyone will fall. Miranda and Alonso are okay, but Yuki and Alfina are about to be sucked into the Versphere. They'll hold on as tight as they can, but Alfina will get sucked in; Yuki will try to jump in, but Miranda will try to stop him; he'll knock her down, then jump in as well... On the other side, Yuki runs over to Alfina to check on her; she's okay. They'll wonder where they're at, then Yuki will realize that they're in the Verse Realm. Alfina says that they don't belong there, so they've got to get out of there quickly. Head west and follow the path, and use the Green Sphere and save along the way. Head north from it and press X to have the moving rock take you up a level, then go north a little. Alfina still doesn't believe that this is the Verse Realm, because she was taught that Guardians lived in the Verse Realms. The flowers will start to disappear, and Alfina says that she doesn't feel anything here, not even life. Continue following the path, and take another stone up to the next level, then keep going until you hear a violin; they'll run over towards the sound, and they'll meet a strange woman playing it. She's trying to sever the bonds from this world, the Verse Realm, from your world, so that everyone can forget this world. She'll then create a platform for you to take that will go through the Versphere, and you'll be sent back to your realm. You'll then see Miranda and Alonzo being attacked by a group of enemies, so Yuki will run over to help. ________ |*BOSS*| Focus all of your best single attacks on the *********************** Excise Sigma - Crackle, Burnstrike, and your [ Excise Sigma--(1200 HP) ] best moves. Since he doesn't have very much [ Pico Alpha x4-(360 HP) ] HP, you should be able to take him out very *********************** quickly, and doing so will also end the battle, even if you haven't defeated the Pico [XP] 1780 Alphas; it's much easier than trying to get rid of all of [Gold] 900G them, then taking on the Excise. After the battle, Alonso will grab Yuki and start yelling at him for doing what he did without thinking; it worried Miranda sick, and though she acts like she's going to hit him, she just goes over and hugs him tightly. Back at the Inlet, save your game if you want to at the Light Sphere. *[.NOTE.]* Miranda and Alonso will be leaving your party shortly, so you may want to go back through and level your characters up, since it will be just Yuki and Alfina by themselves for a little while. Level 14 should be good enough for now, if you're not there already. Go towards Alonso's ship, and he'll ask if you're ready to go. [1] Sorry, just a bit longer! She also worries about what she could have done for that girl there. Yuki then decides that they should tell Miranda and Alonso what they saw in the Verse Realm. Go down into the cabin, and you'll have another dinner scene. Yuki will tell them about the Verse Realm, and go into detail about it with them; he says it's nothing like the hell that Ulf said it was like. Yuki also tells them that he and Alfina will find out exactly was this place was, together. The entire dinner, Miranda seems down and hardly says a word... Use the 'end' arrow over Alonso to have him suggest that we get to sleep. [1] I'm not tired yet. Choose option 2 to rest up for the big day ahead [2] Yeah. I'm beat. tomorrow. During the night, Miranda will go talk to Alonso about Yuki; she's worried that he and Alfina are too young to journey on their own. When she saw the look in Yuki's eyes when he went to save Alfina, she realized that she'd never seen him like that before, and she doesn't really understand her son at all anymore. Alonso and Miranda will start drinking, then he'll share his old sea stories, such as the first time he set sail at age 16. The point of his story; Yuki's a man now, and he's going to search for his dreams, but no matter what, he'll always be her son. Head off of the boat, and Mendi City - General Store Alonso will introduce you to the biggest city -----------------+-------- on the continent! Yuki is worried about Flame Sword......|..600G.. meeting Schmidt, and since they don't even Flame Rod | 360G know where he lives, they'll have to ask Mage Staff.......|..950G.. someone to find out. Use the Green Sphere... Snooze | 180G Sell all of your useless stuff, such as Miranda Howl.......|..80G...... and Alonso's equipment, and if you really need Howlslash | 300G the money, their old Skills, as well as the Miracle Elixir you may have, but just to let you know, they are very helpful to have much later in the game. For items, go ahead and get 6 Antidotes, since we'll need them in the next area. (Don't get more than 6, since there's three of them to grab in the next area.) Go ahead and get a few Cure Herbs as well, and some more Cherry Bombs and/or Grenades if you want to. Get a Flame Sword, Breastplate and Iron Leggings for Yuki, and a Quilted Silk and Iron Leggings for Alfina. As for the weapons, it's up to you (and how much gold you have). I always go with the Mage Staff over the Iron Rod because Alfina's MOV stat isn't high enough to make her an effective fighter, plus the Mage Staff gives her a MAG boost as well. If you have the extra money, I'd get the Flame Rod too, just because it is an automatic Burn! spell to use if you choose to equip it to Alfina. Stop at the Skill Shop next, and talk to the man in white; in addition to buying Skills, you can now Extract them from Skill Books! I strongly recommend extracting the Water Mastery Skill from the Priest Book and the Brute Strength Skill from the Soldier Book, then buy the Mighty Blow for Yuki as well. Now to the Magic Shop; you can extract spells from Mana Eggs as well! You may not want to, because eventually, you'll be able to Fuse Mana Eggs together to make better ones (see s1.710 for details), but it's up to you. Buy a Healer and a Howlslash spell, then, if you want, extract a BOOM! spell from one of your Bomb Eggs, and maybe even a Zap! spell from your Thunder Egg; we'll be getting another Thunder Egg soon, so it'll be okay if you're worried about it; I never get Zap! since I'll have BOOM!. Now it's time to meet Schmidt! Follow the path as it turns north and east all the way to the front of Schmidt's; go inside, and Yuki will get extremely excited when he sees the planes and engines in here. He'll then meet Schmidt; he seems a little gruff, and even rejects the Lem Fruit, telling Yuki to just go home. Talk to him again, and Yuki will even show him his Flight Unit; to answer that, Schmidt will show him a giant four-column Flight Unit of his own! Go to the bottom of the screen and talk to him again; Yuki will show him the blueprints for his 20th plane model, proving to Schmidt that he has built planes before, though he can. tell that all of them crashed. Go to the top right of the screen and talk to him again; he says that it used to be that if someone would bring a Lem Fruit to him, he'd make him one of his Schmidt custom jobs. Go to the left and talk to him, yet again, and he'll give Schmidt the Lem Fruit, and he'll use one of his machines to work on the fruit. He says that he's interested in Yuki's plans, then he'll ask him why he hasn't given up yet, even after he's crashed 19 planes, and he says that he can't give up; he loves flying so much and all he wants to do is be free. He will make a Schmidt Airplane Emblem out of the Lem Fruit for Yuki, then he tells Yuki that he will have a plane ready for him tomorrow! Leave the Garage, and Alfina will ask Yuki if he told Miranda about their plans, and of course, he hasn't exactly said it yet, so it's about time to do so. Before going back to the ship, we need to do one thing, and that's to talk to the Barkeep two buildings to the left of Schmidt's; he says that his wife is upset because someone's been stealing wine from their store. If you talked to everyone earlier, I'm sure that you would have talked to Otto the Boy Detective! Go to the fork in the road that leads to Schmidt's Garage, then go west and talk to Otto at this dead-end; he says he'll solve this case in less than 30 minutes! Talk to him again... [1] I have no leads. Choose option 2 to learn about the wine [2] Tell me about the incident. incident, option 3 to have him tell you [3] Who is your employer? that the Barkeep's wife is his employer, [4] I know who did it! and choose option 4 to tell him who did it! [1] A beer belly. Choose option 1, and he'll say that the mystery has [2] An airplane. been solved! He'll then give you a [3] Lots of barrels. [_GOLDEN FEATHER_]! After you're done with that, [4] The blues. make your way back to Alonso's Ship. Once you're back at the ship, go into the Cabin. As promised, Miranda has made an incredible feast with everyone's favorites, so you'll have another dinner scene. Yuki still doesn't understand why she made such a large meal, but then Alonso asks how it went with Schmidt. After telling them that he promised to have a plane ready for him tomorrow, Yuki will then tell Miranda that he's decided to go with Alfina, so she won't be alone anymore, but then Miranda interrupts him and starts telling Alfina about when Yuki was a kid. Yuki says that Miranda's been acting strange all day, then choose the 'end' arrow over Miranda's head to have her talk to herself about what she would do if she were to get sick or get hurt... Outside, Alonso will tell Yuki that Miranda knows that he's going to Arcriff with Alfina. Yuki says that now that he has his wings, he wants to travel so he can learn all kinds of things, so he can find what he's looking for. After some words of wisdom from Alonso, Miranda comes out and tells him that she's not going to stop him, and that she's not going to Arcriff with him, nor is she going back to Anfog either; instead, she's going to do what she thinks will make her happy and will stay with Alonso. The next morning, use the Light Sphere if you want, then go outside. Everyone will decide to go to Schmidt's place together, so leave this area and make your way over to Schmidt's Garage. Go to the upper right part of the Garage and talk to Schmidt; he says that everything's ready, and that you can leave any time; it's waiting for you beyond those two big wooden doors. Yuki will run over and admire it, then he'll attach his Flight Unit to it and start it up. He's so excited, he'll start laughing maniacally as Alfina screams for him to shut it off. Schmidt will give Miranda a few words of comfort, then she will say goodbye to her son. After he gets on board, Miranda will give him a thumbs-up, and he'll take off, with Miranda running after him as he flies away. He'll then circle around again, calling her "Mom", then flies off again for good as Miranda cries on Alonso's shoulder... In the plane, Yuki's still excited about how amazing this plane really is, and he'll start to fly towards the sun and above the clouds! After they're up there, they'll glide along while enjoying the scenery. Yuki will then remember back to one of his first flights when he tried to fly through a typhoon, but made it through all right. Suddenly, a strong gust will knock the plane around, scaring Alfina, but after the plane rebalances, they'll fly toward Arcriff. On the World Map, Yuki will let Alfina fly to Arcriff, but they'll run into some dark clouds, then Alfina will notice something in the clouds; it looks like a giant white snake! Yuki will get closer to it, and Alfina will see her brother, Emelious, riding on it! The plane will nick the side of the snake and will crash into the Arcriff Forest. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.509 - Arcriff Forest ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [14], Alfina [14] [Light Spheres] Near the plane [Consumables] Spirit Seed, Revival Elixir, Antidote x3, Cure Herb, White Sulfur [Mana Eggs] Blaze Egg *[.NOTE.]* The Baabaa enemies in this area [Skill Books] Sorcerer Book have a chance of dropping a Sheepskin; [Enemies] Baabaa----(136 HP) these sell for 1000G each, so once you Dragonoid-(143 HP) clear out all of the enemies the first time, leave the area, then come back and keep fighting them until you get 9 Sheepskins, and feel free to use your Magic every round, because you can easily recover your HP and MP at the Light Sphere where the plane crashed. Easy money! Yuki has wrecked yet another plane, so we'll have to walk to Arcriff Temple. From the Light Sphere, head northwest and on the other side of this hill to find a chest containing a [_SPIRIT SEED_], then go northwest from it into the corner where you'll find another chest; this one has a [_SORCERER BOOK_] inside, so equip it to Alfina. Head east from the chest, but when you reach a log going north, go directly south of it to another chest containing a [_BLAZE EGG_]; I'd equip it to Yuki. Go north and cross the log, then go east and get the [_REVIVAL ELIXIR_] out of the chest. Follow the path west to an open area with five items: an [_ANTIDOTE_], another [_ANTIDOTE_], a [_CURE HERB_], a [_WHITE SULFUR_], and another [_ANTIDOTE_]. That's it for treasures, so head north and follow the curvy path until you reach the Arcriff Temple Road. Arcriff Temple - Magic Shop As with the Revival Gems, I would get at -----------+--------------- least three or four Alheals as well, because Burnstrike.|.240G.......... it will be even longer to get more of them, Tremor | 400G so stock up. You may also want to get a Cure Cure.......|.240G.......... and a Resurrect for Alfina, as well as an Resurrect | 400G Alheal for Yuki, which I just mentioned. If Healer.....|.240G.......... you want anything else, grab it. This is Alheal | 400G also the only place in the game where you Snooze.....|.180G.......... can buy Tremor! Howlslash | 300G *[.NOTE.]* If you really want to save up a bunch of extra money for later, or just to get more for now, feel free to head back to the Arcriff Forest and keep fighting those Baabaas for Sheepskins! Once you're done shopping, head north and into the Lobby, then use the Light Sphere and head north into the Cathedral. Go up and talk to the Bishop, who is actually Alfina's grandfather; Alfina tells him that she came to take over for Emelious, and to speak with the Guardian, Gryph. The ceremony will be tomorrow, so they'll rest here for the night; she asks him if he could show her where the room her brother used is. Go east out into the Hallway, then head north and up these stairs, then into the first room to the right to be in the Communicator's Room. Go over to the desk on the right and read Emelious' diary; watch the scene from Emelious' past, then Yuki will suggest resting for the night. Head back to the Cathedral, then take the western door out and go north, then talk to the priest here; he'll [1] I want to look around more. ask if you're ready to retire. Choose [2] Yes, it's about that time... option 2 to tell him so, then he'll tell you that the ceremony will start [1] Really? Wait a minute! early tomorrow, so you may want to see [2] I've seen enough, thanks. the temple now; choose 2 again to sleep. Later on in his room, Yuki will have a visitor; Alfina will come in to talk to him; this exact room was the room that she stayed in when she was little, then she'll show him a hidden drawing on the wall of her and her brother. She will then tell him about 12 years ago, when she watched her brother perform his ceremony. Yuki says that she doesn't have to become a Communicator if she doesn't want to, since she can choose the path that she will follow in life; nothing is set, since they have the power to choose. The next morning, a nun will wake Yuki up for the ceremony, so leave the room and make your way back to the Cathedral, then to the Hallway where the Communicator's/Emelious' Room is on the second floor and enter the Viewing Room on the northern wall. As Yuki is led to the viewing area, you'll see Kornell hiding on part of the roof watching Yuki, then a blue-haired woman will show up, saying that with the power of Xorn, Yuki and all of the followers of the Guardians will meet their end, and that Emelious will plan on using 'it' here and now. In the next scene, you'll see a man talking of how Emelious will finally bring this world to an end... Back at the Temple, Alfina will make her way to the end of the platform, and will summon Gryph. When the giant bird arrives, Gryph will tell Alfina that her brother is planning something that will danger the entire the world, and then she will ask Alfina if she could love her brother no matter what he does, because there's no future for those who hate, and that love is their only hope, and no matter what, she mustn't hate her brother... Emelious will then come flying down and will strike Gryph with his giant sword, then turn to Alfina; Yuki will jump down and run over and try to attack him, then Emelious will use an orb to summon a Versphere, then he'll use it to have lightning strike down and destroy the Temple. Yuki will grab Alfina and start running, and the next thing you know, (other than Alfina is magically back in her normal clothes) the Temple is in ruins. Use the Light Sphere, then head over to the opposite side of the room and open the two chests here for a [_MIRACLE ELIXIR_] and a [_WIND RING_]. Go into the Cathedral, then you'll be attacked by another Excise Sigma. ________ |*BOSS*| As with the last battle with them, use your *********************** best single attacks on the Excise. Have Yuki [ Excise Sigma--(1200 HP) ] use Blade Storm, Burnstrike, and Whirlwind [ Pico Alpha x2-(360 HP) ] while having Alfina using Crackle. If your *********************** HP goes under 200, have either one of them cast Alheal to recover HP. It's not really [XP] 2090 that tough of a battle as long as you keep your HP up, since [Gold] 850G there are only 2 Pico Alphas instead of 4. Take the eastern path, then go north up to the second floor, then go all the way around and east to the North Tower. Open the four chests here for a [_LEAF EGG_], a [_THUNDER EGG_], a [_PRIEST BOOK_], and a [_POISON AMULET_]. Use the Light Sphere, then head east to a fork, where the ceiling will cave in and some monsters will attack you. After you beat them, move south to another fork; go northeast and open the chest here for a [_LIGHTNING STONE_], then head south and keep following this path. Eventually, parts of the wall will fall down, but it won't hinder your progress any; keep going and go up the stairs, then continue on and down another set of stairs to a fork. Head east and up these stairs, and follow the path to a dead-end, where the ground as well as the chest will fall down to the lower level; open the chest to find an [_AROMATIC ROOT_]. You may want to equip it, since it can be used the same as the Cure Spell, and it's attack is higher, but the MAG stat is 3 lower than the Mage Staff, so it's up to you. You can go back to the Green Sphere through the south end of this room and take off the Cure spell if there's something else you wanted there. Head all the way north, grabbing the [_BROADSWORD_] along the way to your east, then head west and up the spiraling path to exit that leads to the outside of Arcriff Temple. They'll keep running, only to find that everything around them has been transformed by the power of Xorn; you'll see Raven again, and he says that what you see is the result of the choice that Alfina made. He also says that they need to tell the other Guardians that Gryph is dead... Use the Green Sphere if you want, then go to the northwestern side of the Temple and open the chest for a [_REVIVAL GEM_]. Head southeast and through the pathway here, then go east and on the other side of the rock for a [_HOLY SALVE_]. To the south of it is a [_HEALING GEM_] beside another rock, so grab it, then start heading west. Near the middle of the western wall beside a huge object is a [_MAGIC SEED_] in a chest, so grab it as well, then head south back to the Forest. There's nothing new here, so just make your way back to your crashed plane, fighting all of the Baabaas along the way and hopefully getting a few more Sheepskins. After you use the Light Sphere, board the plane and Yuki will start it up. They'll attempt to fly to Mendi City, and will do so, but will crash on the runway. -Mendi City- :::::::::: [My Level] Yuki [16], Alfina [16] Alfina's still worried about what [Light Spheres] Inn what Raven said, about it being her fault. Yuki will suggest finding an Inn, so head southeast to Park Avenue. Go to the Inn on the east side of town, where the innkeeper will think that they are a couple, and will get them the best room in the Inn; Alfina will decide that she needs to be alone for a while, and will run off to the room alone. After the innkeeper checks up on her, she'll tell Yuki that she's sound asleep, so Yuki asks her to watch over Alfina for a while. When Yuki leaves the Inn, he'll see Ulf! After telling his story to Ulf, Yuki will run over to see Shiba, who will smack Yuki right in the face with his tail. Ulf suggests traveling to Randoto once again to get another Lem Fruit so Schmidt can help us out again. Talk to Shiba, and Yuki will plead with him to take him to Randoto. Shiba will agree to take you, and Ulf will ask if you're ready to go. [1] Wait, I'm not quite ready... Choose option 1, because we need to [2] Yeah, let's get going! get Ulf prepared. Head back into town and go to the Skill Shop; buy the Beast Hunter Skill for both of them, as well as a Counter skill for Ulf. Go to the Magic Shop, and get Burnstrike, Diggin', and Healer for Ulf (unless you have extra Alheals from Arcriff, then equip that to him instead), then equip him with a Bomb Egg. If you want to, go to the General Store and get some more healing supplies if you need them, or even some more Grenades. Don't worry about getting better armor for Ulf; we'll get some on the trip to Randoto. [1] Sorry, just a bit longer! When you're ready, go back to Mendi Point [2] Yep! Sorry for the wait! and talk to Shiba; choose 2 to leave! You'll see Alfina sitting on the roof, listening to the words of the girl from the Verse Realm, as well as those of Gryph, and of Emelious as well. She'll then go down and decide to help the innkeeper out. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.511 - Randoto (2) ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [16], Ulf [13] [Light Spheres] Southeast Wall, Mountaintop, Northwest Wall, Inlet [Equipment] Plate Mail, Glass Slippers [Valuables] Lem Fruit You'll be on a different part of [Skill Books] Scout Book Randoto this time, but the enemies [Enemies] Fishman---------(210 HP) are all the same. Use the Light Zoea------------(114 HP) Sphere right beside you, then follow Fishman Captain-(480 HP) the path all the way west and past a *BOSS*---Minotaur x2-----(2100 HP) fork to a rock; look behind it for a Boat Swallow----(144 HP) [_PLATE MAIL_], then put it on Ulf. Follow along the skinny path to the northeast and climb the ladder, but beware of all of the Fishmen at the top! When you're finished with all of them, head west and southwest to find a chest containing a [_SCOUT BOOK_]. Put this on Yuki, then put the Hunter Book on Ulf, then follow the path north to the Mountaintop. Cut the flower here to blow a hole in the wall, then go southeast and save and recover. When you're ready, head north to the Lem Tree, another Minotaur will show up, then a second will come up on the other side! Oh boy... ________ |*BOSS*| First off, cast Diggin' with Ulf, then **************************** concentrate all of your attacks on one [ Minotaur x2--------(2100 HP) ] Minotaur at a time, but canceling both **************************** of them if they're going to be using attacks like Ground Crush and Tornado [XP] 2400 Horn. If they're both in a line, have Yuki cast [Gold} 1000G BOOM! and have Ulf use Bigwheel, if he has it, [Item] Cyclone Egg, since his Magic won't do nearly as much damage Jade Charm OR compared to Yuki's. Basically, have Yuki use Magic Power Seed and Blade Storm, and have Ulf use Flame Spike and other moves, unless the monsters need to be canceled. Have Yuki use Alheal and Ulf use Healer/Alheal whenever their HP falls below 200, and if one of them should somehow die, thank the Revival Gem for picking them back up. This battle is in no way easy, so just stick it out until you win it. (Pick up the item(s) after the battle.) Now, go up to the Lem Tree and pick up another [_LEM FRUIT_], and Yuki will be ready to go back to Mendi. But of course, my curiosity got the best of me, so I explored the entire island one more time, and yes, there is one more item to obtain, but it means hiking all the way back to the Inlet where Alonso docked his boat. First off, go down the southern path to get to the Northwest Wall, then head east and south, then down this ladder, then go west and south and down this ladder as well. Go down two more ladders to your south, then go south and southwest and follow this path back to the Underground Caves. Make your way to the southern end of the map by taking the shortcut that you blew up earlier, and once you reach the Inlet, go to the southwestern corner and grab the [_GLASS SLIPPERS_]! These will up a girl's INI by 15 when equipped! Now, head ALL THE WAY back to the Mountaintop, then go west back to the Southeast Wall. Make your way back to Shiba and talk to him. [1] Just a bit longer, Shiba. Choose option 2, and they'll hop on Shiba [2] Yep, I'm ready! and head back to Mendi. -Mendi City- :::::::::: [My Level] Yuki [18], Ulf [15] Back at the Inn, Alfina will be helping [Light Spheres] Inn, Harbor out the innkeeper by baking! When Shiba [Equipment] Mithril Ring lands, Yuki will notice that his plane's gone! Schmidt will come up to them and Ulf will give him a Lem Fruit; He'll tell them to wait in front of the Garage, and when Yuki tries to explain what happened, Schmidt will tell him that the plane told him what he needed to know. Start heading southeast, and Schmidt will wheel out a brand new plane for Yuki! And it's the one that Yuki designed to boot! Before getting too excited, we have to go get Alfina, so go back to the Inn. You'll see Alfina carrying some bread that she baked, and Yuki will tell her about the new plane, as well as the guardian Drak in the Dragon Valley. Yuki will be cautious in trying Alfina's baking, but when he tastes it, he likes it! Ulf says that he'll go along with them to see Drak, and you'll regain control. Before getting on your new plane, we have another case to solve for Otto so we can get another item! Just outside of House 2 is our destination; it's just northwest of the Skill Shop. Talk to the young boy, Rick, and the young girl, Mary, here to learn that Mary's doll is missing! Go all the way to the western end of town and talk to Otto at the dead-end. [1] I have no leads. With the Volcano Eggs, I went back to Mendi City and extracted 4 Burnstrikes and 4 Hellburners from them, and then I went back and got 5 more to have 9 of them again. While you're in Mendi City, you may want to rearrange your characters' Magic and Skills since they probably have more space now. When you're ready, get in your plane and head to the Dragon Valley! On the way there, Ulf will tell Yuki not to go to far from him because they don't take kindly to strangers, and they'll fly closer to the valley. Ulf says that it's too quiet around here, since there aren't any guards, then two dragons will fly down from the sky and start attacking you! Then one of the guards come up and start talking to Ulf, and when Ulf says that there's a Communicator with him, they won't believe him since they weren't notified, and that they won't believe the words of someone who betrayed his people, so then they'll start chasing Yuki and company. Push it down to have it crash down and sink the land so you can cross it. Go back down and head west-northwest to cross it, then head north a little bit to a fork; go west and open a chest for another [_RAIN EGG_]. Go back to the fork to be able to go two more ways; northwest and north. Both paths have a treasure, so head northwest first and look for a chest along the northwestern edge as the path starts to turn northeast and east for an [_AQUA EGG_]. Keep going east, then south to another fork, then go west to a chest containing a [_QUAKE EGG_] that you would've got had you taken the north path at the first fork. From the last egg, head east and jump over the gap, then open a chest along the southern edge to find a [_HOLY WATER_]. Go up the northwestern path and push this rock down, but by doing this, the rock you're standing on will slide to the northeast, cutting off your path to the other side. Head northeast and to this fork, then head south until you have to turn west, then look for the [_MAGIC PUMPS_] in a chest on a small hill. Head back east, then all they way north, where you will need to jump across another gap, then continue north some more to find a [_POWER SEED_] at this dead-end. Make your way west, but before you go northwest to the next area, go to the west-southwestern edge of this area and jump across, then go southeast and get the [_WARRIOR BOOK_] out of the chest. You may want to equip this one to Yuki. Now jump back across and head northwest to the Windy Path. Go forward and try to get a first strike in on the Thunder Dragon by cutting the flower, then go around the curve and start following the path south. WATCH OUT FOR THE LYCAN KNIGHTS AROUND HERE! They are very dangerous, and can be as difficult as a boss at times. In this large area, look to your west inside the caverns to find a [_STONE EGG_], an [_AQUA EGG_], a [_FLARE EGG_], and a [_DRAGON ARMOR_]. Continue south, following the path as it turns west, then head all the way west to a dead-end with a [_FROST EGG_] in a chest. Go to the fork you passed and head north and northeast, and follow this all the way to the Rocky Terrace. Make use of the SQUARE button in this area, as there are many objects you can interact with. Chop down the tree to your west, then walk over it to the chest and get the [_HUNTER BOOK_] out of it. Now go to the westernmost part of this area and push the log into the river, and it will float somewhere until it makes a bridge. Go to the northern edge of this section where the river separates the land, and chop down the tree down near the center to form a bridge, then cross it. *[.NOTE.]* In this area, there are flowers; they work in the same way that the mushrooms did in Anfog forest, meaning that some of them carry treasures, so chop all of the ones you come across; which treasures are in which flower are random. Once you cross, go west and chop open this flower to your west, then go west and across another log to the next section of land, which is much larger than the other two. Make your way to the northern end of this section, then go southeast and push this log into the water. Now head to the far southern/southwestern end of this section and jump over to the next section to the west. Head directly west to come up to a flower, only to have it jump out of the ground and attack you! (Think of them as you did the Fake Mushrooms in Anfog, but much, much tougher!) After you take care of that monstrosity, go down the ladder to your north, then head northeast and chop down the tree along the eastern edge so if forms a bridge to your north. (There are three you can cut, but only the one to the north of the other two does anything.) Head north and cross the log to the next section, then cut the two flowers to your west. Go to the southeastern/eastern edge of this section and push the log into the water, which should complete the bridge to your northeast. There should be three flowers near that log you just pushed, one to the south and two to the north, so cut them, then go north to the next section. As you approach these flowers, you'll be attacked by another Green Man! Waste him, then cut the two nearby flowers; head all the way east now, crossing the two-log bridge, then climb up the ladder to the southeast and follow along the northeastern edge as you go southeast to come across a chest with a [_LIFE EGG_] inside. Go back to where the ladder is, then go southwest towards more flowers; the Green Man that attacks you here comes in a set of three during battle, so beware! Cut the other flower here, then go to the southeastern part of this section and chop down one final tree, making it so that if you travel back through here, you have a shortcut. Once you've done that, head back north, down the ladder, then west and across the two-log bridge, then north and down the dirt path to a fork. Go east first, and when you reach the dead-end, open the chest for a [_DRAGON SCALE_]. Now, make your way all the way west until you reach a Green Sphere; use it, then head north to the Sanctuary of Wind. Head north up to the gate, where many guards will be waiting; one of them says that their Communicator disappeared long ago, and Drak hasn't spoken to them since them, so all they can do is to protect Drak. Yuki and Alfina will then try to convince them that Alfina is a Communicator, then Ulf yell at them for being so stubborn for not believing Alfina. You'll then hear Drak's voice, saying not to harm them, and to let them through to him. Follow the stairs all the way north, and you'll meet Drak himself. He will tell Alfina that he knows that Emelious has destroyed Arcriff and embraced the power of Xorn. He says that all of her questions will be answered over time, and that as a Communicator, she'll grow to understand time, but for now, just believe in the ebb and flow of time. Drak will then summon his powers to create a red orb; he says that this orb contains all of his powers, and it should protect them from Xorn's power. Pick up [_DRAK'S ORB_], then Ulf will ask Drak what he should do; Drak will tell him to go to the 'People of the Corridor' to the east, where they'll find another Guardian, so Ulf should lead them there. Head back south to the gate, and choose to leave the fortress. You'll automatically be back at the Rocky Cliffs; Ulf says that he thinks that Drak was talking about the Bacculani People, who live in a desert to the far east, so that's our next destination! *[.NOTE.]* With Drak's Orb in your possession, there is now an Orb Gauge during battle; once this gauge is full, you can use a guardian's Orb to summon their powers during battle. When you use Drak's Orb, it will cause MAJOR fire damage to all enemies! Use it in your next battle to check it out! Make your way back to the entrance by going south and jumping across the gap, then heading all the way south, then west, following this path as it goes through the skinny path, and will have to jump across another gap and come to a fork, where you'll go west and all the way south, then southeast to your plane. Use the 'end' arrow above Yuki's head to have him decide that he's ready to rest for the night, then choose option 2 to [1] But Ulf still looks hungry. end dinner. [2] I'm done. After Ulf has eaten enough, Alfina will hear someone singing. Yuki recognizes the voice, so leave the Inn to see Dahna singing near the statue of Yoat. She tells them that the song is an old song about forgotten memories. She says that there was someone special to her, and he was the Chief of the Village then, but one day, he suddenly disappeared leaving a void in her heart. She will then see the man she's talking about, and it's Raven! Dahna will run up to him, and he'll tell everyone that they need to leave Baccula at once. Dahna will try to ask him why he changed, then he'll hug her tightly, and after they share a moment, he lets her go and vanishes once again. Dahna will quote Alfina on her saying of how if they believe in love, and she says that she'll try to believe. The next morning, Dahna says that she'll take you to Yoat, and the journey will be perilous, so she'll join your party! Leave the Inn, and go to the General Store, which is just east of the Chief's Tent, to upgrade everyone's equipment, then go to the Skill Shop to the northwest of it if you want to. Now for the fun part; we can now go through Mana Egg Fusion! Go to the Magic Shop near the Inn, and talk to the woman on the right; she'll introduce you to the Mana Egg Fusion Machine! You can also ask her questions on how Mana Egg Fusion [1] I'll pass. works. When you are ready to try it, [2] How do you fuse Mana Eggs? talk to the shopkeeper, and choose to [3] Does fusion make better eggs? Fuse Mana Eggs; if you want to experiment, you may want to go back to the Inn and save first, then come back. If there's anything specific you want to try to Fuse, refer to s1.710 - Mana Egg Fusion, and if you're looking to get a certain spell from a certain Mana Egg, check out s1.709 - Mana Eggs. With the eggs you have now, you could probably get all of the most powerful spells in the game! Just make sure that you get Alhealer, and I prefer to get Diamond Dust for Alfina and BOOMOR! for both Yuki and Dahna. Just remember not to load up your party with spells like Galactic Bang and Astraea Zap, because your party doesn't have very much MP, and after only a couple of castings, you'll run out, but don't get me wrong; you should have Galactic Bang, probably on Dahna, because it's a huge help on bosses when you can hit them for over 3000 HP with one spell. I also made a Holy Egg for Alfina and a Chaos Egg for Yuki, while I keep the Heal Egg on Dahna, with a Blast Egg on Ulf. After you've fused the Eggs and extracted the spells that you want, get ready to head into the Baccularn Desert. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [ s1.514 - Baccularn Desert - West / North ] %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [My Level] Yuki [21], Alfina [20], Ulf [19], Dahna [16] *[.NOTE.]* STAY [Light Spheres] North Baccularn Desert AWAY FROM THE [Enemies] Dragonfly---(240 HP) SOUTHWESTERN PART OF THIS AREA! Sand Lizard-(578 HP) The Desert Lord walks around here, and Undead Mage-(1120 HP) if you run into him, you're dead. You Desert Lord-(14400 HP) can try to fight him, but you won't come close to killing him unless you are able to pull of four Galactic Bangs before he casts Howlnado or Quake. If you do happen to run into him, just run away as quickly as you can. We'll come back to him later. If you do want to try to beat the Desert Lord, and you just can't wait until later, here's a strategy from Justin (eternaljustnius@aol.com): "The trick is to have one person cancel him while the other three use their strongest spells (making sure that the Mana Egg they have has a maxed out boost level to that element...) - Have Yuki cancel with Aerial Slash, or use Galactic Bang (Chaos Egg) - Have Alfina cancel with Comet Strike, or use Absolute Zero (Holy Egg) - Have Ulf cancel with Rockbreaker (which is normally the person I would use to cancel), or use Astraea Zap. - Have Dahna cancel with Homing Cards, or use Galactic Bang (Volcano Egg) Also, make sure that each person has Guru's Way equipped with Skill Books that power that up, and Mighty Blow plus any types of equipment that boost the MAG stat. Make sure that each person always has at least 25 SP before the fight so they can use their cancelling moves. With this method, I could kill him with 3 spells with only getting attacked once, and he always attacks the person who canceled him with a normal attack. At 4000 XP a whack, it's worth it... plus you just run back to Baccula and use the Light Sphere in the Inn to recover, then go back and repeat." There aren't any treasures in the desert at all, so it's in your best bet to head straight north to the North Baccularn Desert; there are plenty of monsters in that area to fight, with no chance of running into the Desert Lord. As I said before, this area has a lot of monsters to fight, as well as a Light Sphere up the ramp to the north, and the enemies respawn when you leave the area and come back, so now would be a good a time as any to start leveling up. As you can see, I'm probably at a higher level than you, but Dahna's is low, so if you haven't yet, I strongly recommend getting her (or your lowest level character) to at least 20 or 21, since the monsters in this area give good XP. If you're at a low enough level to be having a little trouble with the enemies here, you may want to go back to Dragon Valley and fight there, that way you have a chance to power up your Special Moves as well. It may take you a couple of hours to get ready, but it's well worth it. Are you done yet? Good. Take the northern path up until you reach another fork, then continue north to a dead-end with a [_HOLY SALVE_] in a chest. Go back and head all the way east and up a small set of stairs to a chest with the [_WIZARD BOOK_], which you should put on Alfina. You're also at a fork, so take the southeastern path first, then at this fork, continue east up the stairs and to yet another fork; there's a [_BLAZE EGG_] to your north and a [_CURE POWDER_] to your east. Go back to the fork where you found the Wizard Book, then head northeast to yet another fork; head east and push the block on the left into its place to open the large door, then go through, taking care of the Skeleton Warrior along the way, and get the [_STAFF OF ICE_] out of the chest. Go back and head north now, and when you come to a three-way fork, go northeast first, and follow the path as it goes southeast and to a [_GUARDIAN BOOK_]. Walk east from here to come to a small room with three urns; these urns work like the mushrooms in Anfog and the flowers at Dragon Valley, meaning they have random treasures in them, so crush them as you come across them. After you smash these, head east to a dead-end with a [_SMART SEED_] inside a chest, then make your way back to the three-way fork. Go up the stairs and take the northern path, smashing the two urns at the end, then turn west, but before you start heading south, look to your north for a [_FIGHTER BOOK_]. Head south now, following the path as it goes west and up the stairs to seven urns; crush them, then go south and across the thin bridge, then all the way south to a room with three urns, two chests, and one button. Get the [_LIFE SEED_] and [_QUAKE EGG_] out of the chests, break the urns, then step on the button to open a shortcut back to the entrance. Make your way back to the three-way fork one last time, then head northwest and follow the path to a Green Sphere; use it, then go north and through the big door to the Sand Valley area of the Baccula Ruins. This area is very straightforward, so just cross the bridge, then continue all the way west and north to a large door; open it and enter the Earth Shrine. Go north into a room and smash the urns to the northwest, then go northeast to a fork; go east, then look for a chest to your south containing a [_MOGAY BOMB_]. Continue east until you can exit to another section of the Sand Valley. Go east, but before crossing the next bridge, grab the [_FIRE RING_] to your south. Now cross the bridge, and once you are on the other side, make your way south through the monsters until you reach the [_SLEEP CARDS_]; equip these on Dahna, then make your way back to the Earth Shrine. Head back to the first fork, then head north and east to another fork, where you'll go north all the way up until you reach a statue. Examine it to raise a path to your west, so head west, then turn south and keep going until you reach a door on the eastern wall; push the block on the left in to open the door, then go through and get another [_SCOUT BOOK_]. Head all the way back to the statue. Use the Light Sphere to the north and recover and save before continuing on, then go to the statue and examine it again to raise the path that goes east, so head east now, and when the path curves, smash the four urns here. Make sure your party is at full health, then continue south into a room where the golems on the wall will come to life (deja vu?), then they'll ambush you. Use your best Magic to beat them, because normal attacks do hardly any damage, and there are four of them, so don't use the very high MP consuming spells right off the bat. *[.NOTE.]* The Golems in this area have a small chance of dropping the Heaven Blade, which, when equipped to Yuki, gives a better chance of your enemy dropping an item, usually the rare ones as well. After you've survived that onslaught, head south to a fork, then head east to find another chest with a [_REVIVAL ELIXIR_] inside. Head west and up the stairs, and at this fork, head south and push another block to the left of a big door in its place, then go through and get the [_VETERAN BOOK_] out of the chest. Go back to the last fork and head north just a little to another fork; go west and smash the four urns, then go west out onto the ledge and open the chest to the north for another [_HOLY WATER_]. Go back outside to the fork and continue north; go through the western doorway for an [_ICE BRAND_], then go east and south to find a chest with a [_BOND OF TRUST_]. Head all the way back to the statue one last time, then head north up either set of stairs and use the Light Sphere. When you're ready, head north and through the large door into the Sacred Valley. Dahna will see that the entrance to the shrine is in shambles, and only the People of the Corridor are able to open that door! Run north and through the door to find Kornell and his blue-haired friend, Violetta, attempting to kill Yoat! Alfina will quickly use Drak's Orb to stop them from doing anything, then they'll attack you. ________ |*BOSS*| Start off by having someone use Drak's Orb, ********************** then have someone else cast Diggin'. After [ Kornell------(9600 HP) ] that, have Yuki use Dragon Slash (if he has [ Iron Fist----(7200 HP) ] it), Ulf use any of his moves, and have Dahna [ Violetta-----(6400 HP) ] and Alfina focus their best Magic on one [ Demon Scythe-(8000 HP) ] person at a time. Drak's Orb should cut their ********************** HP down by at least 1/4 or 1/3, as well as fire off random fireballs at them for the rest [XP] 6800 of the battle, and after a Galactic Bang and an Absolute [Gold] 3000G Zero, or something to that effect, they should be just about dead; how hard this battle is depends on the strength of Magic that you have equipped to your characters. After the battle, another Versphere will form, and the power that Emelious was using will begin to strike down near them, but the power of Yoat will cause the Versphere to close and the magic to disappear. After a psycho moment with Violetta, Kornell and Violetta will run off. Head up and talk to Yoat; Dahna will ask him if he's alright, then Yuki will ask him how he got rid of the Versphere; he says that it was the power to break bonds. One can't live without experiencing loss, but if they look in that loss, they will find the truth. He'll ask Dahna to open the doors to the lost world and to follow the light. He will them summon his powers and create an orb in the same manner that Drak did. Pick up [_YOAT'S ORB_], and Dahna will ask what lies beyond the doors to the lost world; he says that they must discover it with their own eyes. Make your way south through the door, and Dahna will say that Yoat was speaking of the land called Herasell; we need to go back to Baccula to prepare for our trip there. Luckily, we're in the North Baccularn Desert, so just head south through this area to the West Baccularn Desert, then head south and east to be back in Baccula. -Baccula- ::::::: [My Level] Yuki [28], Alfina [27], Ulf [27], Dahna [26] [Light Spheres] Inn [Valuables] Chief's Emblem Dahna says that we need a special item to unlock the gate to Herasell, the Chief's Emblem, so head all the way west to the Chief's Tent, then go into the Chief's Room. Go up to the pedestals and pick up the [_CHIEF'S EMBLEM_], which is the key connecting the two worlds, thus, The People of the Corridor. We need to go through the path that was sealed off by the web-like netting we saw earlier, so go back outside. It's going to be a while before we come back here and fly around and do as we please, so you may want to take a trip to each of the towns and see if there's anything you need to stock up on (I made sure that I bought four of every Skill, Spell, Accessory, and nine of all the Consumables I could.) You may also want to Fuse as much as you can; use the Volcano Eggs you get from playing Arrange Dice with the Mana Eggs you may have gotten during our trip trough the Baccula Ruins to make sure your party has a decent amount of Fire spells, mainly BOOMOR! (I really like that spell for some reason), and maybe BA-BOOM! and Galactic Bang if you haven't already. Also, if you haven't already, go ahead and extract all of the Skills from the Level 1 and 2 Skill Books, as there are some good Skills in there. At the General Store here, make sure that you have the Burning Blade for Yuki if you don't already. Other than that, I think you're set. When you're ready, save and recover at the Inn, then go up to the web beside the Magic Shop to have Dahna cut it down; she'll tell everyone that where they're going is considered a Forbidden Land, and that she should tell her sister, Ruilia, what's going on. Ruilia will come up to Dahna, saying that she knew it would come to this one day. She'll apologize to her for being the way she was to her, because she didn't want to see Dahna shut everyone off; Dahna says that both Ruilia and Alfina helped her through it, and Ruilia's glad to hear that she is finally moving on with her life, and will wish her luck. This is the best place to level up before disc 2: "In the northwest corner, there is an Undead Mage (which comes with 2 Mummy Demons). This battle gives you 1200 EXP. Go for Herasell (north) and you will fight a set of 3 Mummy Demons or two in the way, which gives you 1200 more EXP. Now go back to Baccularn Desert - South and fight the Undead Mage and the Mummy Demon again and again. 2400 XP quickly for two easy battles is not bad, huh? Do not fight against the other monsters on the screen, it is a waste of time when you can gain much more XP fighting against the Undead Mage and Mummy Demon at the north end of the screen. If your characters are not at level 30 at the end of 1st Disc, this is the best way to level up!" There are no treasures here, just monsters. Make your way to the southwest section of the area, then follow the path as it goes southeast to Herasell. Dahna says that you need place the Chief's Emblem in that small cavity, so use the Green Sphere to your northwest, and when you're ready, go up to the cavity and insert the Emblem. The pillars will lower, then a Versphere will appear! Dahna says that it all started on the day that Emelious arrived, and the next morning, both he and Raven were gone, Yoat's statue was damaged, and the seal on this gate was broken; this Versphere is the gate that her people have been forbidden to open. Yuki says that no one knows what's on the other side, but they will find out! Walk up to the Versphere and choose to jump in. Dahna will ask if you're prepared to search for the truth. Personally, I liked the ones from Disc One much better; I purposely get into battles where I'm ambushed just so I can listen to that music, since it hasn't changed. But lucky for us, this battle music only plays while we're in the Verse Realm; you'll hear the better music once we get back home. Also, all enemies in the Verse Realm are weak against fire, so I hope you brought that Burning Blade with you to equip it to Yuki. The Versphere will close, and you'll regain control here in the Verse Realm. Use the Light Sphere here if you want, then start following the path; it's pretty linear, so just follow it as it turns northwest, then once it turns southwest, look for a chest in the path to the east containing a [_BAGOO NUT_]. Keep following the path through a cave as it goes northwest, and when you come out on the other side, look for a chest to your west containing a [_PALADIN BOOK_]. Keep moving northeast, and you should come across a chest on the southeastern ledge, so open it for a [_LAKE EGG_], then keep following the path. When you come to a large room, grab the [_LIGHTNING EGG_] to the northwest, then go north out to the Glass Forest. Ulf will say that everything looks as though everything is made of glass, and they'll see those giant roots that have sucked all of the life out of this place. They'll see someone in the distance, and you'll regain control. Use the Green Sphere if you want, then head north and west, following the path as it goes down a ramp to the south. Once you step off the ramp onto the next level, go north and get the [_SHAMAN BOOK_] out of this corner. Before going up the next ramp, there are two more items to get; the northeastern corner has an [_EARTH RING_] while there's a [_FAIRY CLOAK_] to the west of the Earth Ring. Now go up the ramp on the eastern side, then make your way north to a fork; take the east-northeastern path first, past the fork that goes south, and to a chest to your north that has a [_REVIVAL ELIXIR_] inside.
