I will not discuss any happenings of the plot, but there will be location spoilers and boss name spoilers in this Walkthrough. ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ Section 1: Introduction Controls The Switch Command Exploring the World and Field Maps The Encounter Gauge Elements and Elemental Extraction The Battle System Section 2: Basics Section 3: Walkthrough Section 4: Reference Key Items Mana Items Alchemy Items Section 5: The Dragon's Nest Section 6: Lithographs Section 7: Conclusion ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ Thank you for choosing my Atelier Iris 2 Guide! This guide is meant to take an in-depth look at Atelier Iris 2, walking you step by step through each event as the game progresses. There will be no spoilers of the events, I will just say "watch a scene," and whatnot. I like to keep my guides as spoiler free as possible so that my readers can enjoy the stroy at their own pace. I highly suggest looking over the basics section before you begin. There's a lot of things to learn about Atelier Iris 2. The game has many new features compared with other RPGs, and it is best to learn them before you begin. Also note: ~THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT~ Your game will glitch up and you will be unable to continue if you do not create the item "Flay Hammer" before Chapter 20. So make sure that you create this item as soon as possible. It is important to avoid this glitch! Also, as always, if you have read my guides in the past, I thank you for choosing my writing again. If this is your first time reading one of my guides, Thank you, and I hope you enjoy my work. ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ ^~^ Basics ^~^ ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ ============================= Controls: ============================= This section is for the controls of this game. The directional buttons move your characters through the screens, and the up and down buttons move the cursor on the menu screen. ---------------------------------------------------------------- X Button | The "Confirm" button, allows you to enter areas. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Triangle | Opens the menu screen, and on the menu screen changes the view. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Square | Allows you to scroll quickly, and allows for Element Extraction. ---------------------------------------------------------------- O Button | This button "cancels" commands, and allows you to Jump. ---------------------------------------------------------------- L1/R1/R2/L2| These buttons have no effect. ---------------------------------------------------------------- ============================= The 'Switch' Command: ============================= After a certain point of the game, you gain the ability to switch characters. You can only switch characters from a Save Point, using the 'Switch' command found at the top area. Only one of the two characters you can control can use Alchemy abilities, so you'll find yourself switching back and forth quite often when obtaining new items and going to new areas. It is reccommended that you switch characters after each major area, so that you see if you can create any new items. ============================= Exploring the World and Field Maps: ============================= The World Map of Atelier Iris 2 is a very basic thing. There are no encounters on the world map. Just move the cursor that looks like your character over where you want to go and you'll move there. Press the X button again and you'll enter the area. Note that areas of the World Map are not opened up until you have learned about them, have learned your next destination, or have left an area through a specific exit. The "Field" screen is the definition of any screen, dungeon, town, or other area that is not the World Map. Certain items can be destroyed on the field map. When you see a large rock, an out of place plant, or a strange crystal, press the Square button to destroy it to obtain 'Elements.' These items can usually be "Harvested" once you have created the appropriate item through Alchemy. These items include Wonder Grow, Yugdore Water, Fairy Tea, or the Flay Hammer. In the field you have the ability to "Jump" with the Circle button. This ability allows you to reach surprisingly high levels that you could not walk to normally. Try jumping onto anything you see to reach new areas. In the field screen you'll randomly see a little "X" button above your head. This is the search button, and when you press it, you'll either get a message about the surrounding area, or you'll Open a Chest in your vicinity. Also, when you approach a NPC (Non-Playable Character) you can "speak" to them to obtain information about your surroundings or where to go. Also in the Field screen you'll encounter something called the "Camp Circle." This is also known as a "Save Point." These Save Points will completely recover your HP, but if you are in a dungeon, they will also cause every enemy in the area to regenerate. As the game progresses, you gain more and more abilities through your Camp Circle. Also at the Save Point, you can save your game, load your game, and switch characters after a certain point. ============================= The Encounter Gauge: ============================= In dungeon areas, you will find something at the lower right of your screen. This color changing object is called the "Encounter Gauge." Each encounter you fight through lowers the gauge slightly. The gauge goes down different sizes differently depending on the area you are in. Some areas only take 2 encounters to clear the guage, but others take more than 20 to clear! You can tell how close to an encounter you are by the color of the guage. At the color Blue, you are not going to get into an encounter, yet when you're at Red, and encounter will ensue any moment! Green and Yellow are the middle portions. Blue - Safe Green - Closer Yellow - Encounters Possible Red - Encounter Anytime ============================= Elements and Elemental Extraction: ============================= Elements are a very important part of Atelier Iris 2. There are many different types of Elements in this game, and every enemy and destructable item in the game will give you Elements. When you destroy an item in the field, be it a rock, a crystal, a stone, a plant, a bush, or any other type of item, you will receive a set number of items. The Elements are -in the order they are on the menu screen- Fire, Air, Water, Lightning, Dark Stone, Wood, Life, Illusion, Sound Aroma, Poison, Metal Elements are used in this game to create items through Alchemy that have been "Initialized." These items are also called "Mana Items." These items can not be created through the use of Mana until you have created them with items originally, but once you have, you can go into your Items Menu at any time, select Mana Item, and use "Mana Synthesis" to create the item. If you don't have enough elements to create the item through Synthesis, the game gives you an error. You will need to extract some more from enemies (by Defeating them with Felt or Viese) or by an item that gives you specific elements. There are crystal types for every Element. The only purpose of these "Crystals" is to be destroyed and give you elements, so do so whenever you see one! You can tell what type of Crystallized element it is by the color of the crystal. Note that Sound and Air elements look somewhat alike, as they are both a light green-blue color, except that Sound is a bit darker than Air. At the start of the game, you'll only find a few base elements, probably Stone, Fire, Wood, Aroma, and Water often. But as the game progresses you'll begin to find Air (rare early on), Dark, and Lightning more and more often. Important: LIFE ELEMENTS ARE ALWAYS RARE. There is a limited number of Life Balls out there, and no Life Crystals. There are certain enemies very late in the game that you can get the elements from, but encountering them can be a pain. Save your Life Elements when you have them! ============================= The Battle System: ============================= Atelier Iris 2 runs on a fast paced, yet a limited battle system somewhat like the system of the original Grandia. There is a bar on the top left of the screen. This is the time bar. When you reach the far right side of this bar, your character gets a turn. But also, when the enemy reaches the far side of this bar, they get a turn as well. Thegauge on the far right of the screen is called the Skill gauge. The higher this gauge gets, the more you will be able to use skills. You need to balance the usage of this gauge, as everyone has to share it. This gauge resets to 1 after every battle ends. There are commands that can help delay the enemy turns, but that will be described below. The commands on your Battle screen that looks like this: Charge Attack Break Attack Item Skills Mana Synthesis (Felt and Viese ONLY) Defend Run Change (Only after a certain event) A "Charge Attack" is your basic attack ability. When you use this ability, that gauge in the upper right corner of the screen that starts at level 1 (you can tell what level it is by the large number by it) starts to rise. This Gauge, the Skill Gauge, allows you to use skills. Therefore, when you use a Charge Attack you can use Skills more often. A "Break Attack" is another type of attack. When you watch the bar on the top of the screen after a break attack, the enemy you targeted will be pushed back, and therefore, his attack will be delated. Note that when you use a Break Attack, the Skill Guage will not raise. You need to learn how to balance your Break Attacks and your Charge Attacks to be successful in this game. Using the Item Command will allow you to use any current Mana Items you have in your inventory. Note however that this is limited to Mana Items, and nothing else. The Skills Command is a bit different. You learn more skills as the game progresses, so as the game begins, the command is rather empty. You can not use certain skills until your "Skill Gauge" (in the upper right corner) has filled past the amount necessary. Basic skills like "Mana Strike" only take one level of your gauge to use, but more advanced skills take two or three levels to use. The Mana Synthesis command is a command that only Felt and Viese can use. Once a Mana Item has been created through Alchemy, you will have the ability to create it in battle instantly and use it. If you run out of elements, however, you will be unable to create the item. The Defend command allows you to take less damage from attacks, and also helps you avoid attacks more often. This is a good command for when you have low HP. The Run command allows you to flee from battle, but it does not work all the time. The Change command is only used after a certain point of the game. It allows you to change characters in battle instantly. Dead characters can not be switched into battle. Note that if you use Break attacks on a single enemy enough, they'll reach that Orange area on the far left of the guage. This is called the "Break Area." In here, the enemy is "Broken" and they are shocked, unable to move. Their gauge will move slowly towards you. If you attack an enemy in this area, you will gain bonus points after the battle. You gain experience, skill points (after a certain point), and Cole (the games "Gold") after the battle is complete. As stated above, you gain more than normal if you attack and enemy while in break status, and keep comboing it with more and more damage. You also may gain items after the battle, if you were lucky enough to win one from the enemy. ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ ^~^ Walkthrough ^~^ ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^ Episode 1: Eden ^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You are immediately thrust into a battle. You only control ???, but she is strong alone. Switch to "Break Attack" and constantly hit him back so you don't take damage. After this first battle, another immediately starts. This time, you have access to "Skills." Choose skills, and have your character use Force Blast, which will end the battle and begin the game. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Eden - Alchemic City Noir ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Viese Key Items: Share Ring, Alchemy 101 Items: Pure Waterx5 Mana Items: None As the game begins, you gain control of Viese. Head down the screen, and speak with Lutanus for another short scene. She gives you the ALCHEMY 101. This item allows you to create the Heal Herb and Fear Bottle through Alchemy. Exit the area. You are automatically brought to the city. You can explore a bit, but there's not a lot you can do at this point. I suggest buying the DOWSING GUIDE from Yach for 100 Cole. This item allows you to create the item, Pendulum. There's not much else you can afford at this point, so just speak with whoever you wish, and enter your house on the northern screen. After a short scene in your house, head upstairs. Examine the sink and you'll obtain 5 PURE WATERs. Now, head out of your house. The exit of the city is to the far south. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Belkhyde Gate ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Viese, Felt Key Items: None Items: None Mana Items: Wood Crystal x2 (+16 Wood), Bush x3 (+10 Water, +10 Wood), Water Crystal (+16 Water) Watch the short scene. This is your first chance to get some Elemental items. There are 2 "Wood Crystals" in this area. These items give you Mana when you destroy them. Your limit for Mana of any given element is 99, unfortunately, so it is not worth it going any higher than that, as you are just wasting the items. To destroy these items and get the mana, press the Square Button. Also note that there are three bushes at the far side of the screen that give you 10 Water Mana and 10 Wood Mana when you destroy them. After these are clear, you can jump to the upper level and break the Water Crystal for some Water Mana. Note: Elemental items, and normal Mana items as well (as long as they are not in chests) regenerate once you leave an area, so if you are in need of a specific item, you can keep returning to an area to get it once you've left and returned. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Marmel Forest ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Viese, Felt Key Items: Wood Gem Items: Mini-Pendelook, Nue, Magi Grass x2, Magi Grass x2 Mana Items: Wood Crystal x2 (+16 Wood), Aroma Crystal x2 (+16 Aroma), Water Crystal x2 (+16 Water), Plant x9 (+4 Wood, +4 Water) Note: There's some weird translation here. The place is named Marmel forest in-game, but when it appears on the map initially, and in the spoken dialogue, it is said as "Malmel Forest." They are the same location, so don't worry about it too much. Follow the path through the forest, and you'll eventually see a chest to the north. Open it up and you'll receive a MINI-PENDELOOK. There are two little "bags" on the ground to the right of this. These are Mana items and will regenerate when you leave the area. These contain a NUE, and MAGI GRASS x2. Continue right down the path, and destroy the Wood Crystal for some elements. Continue down the path, and you'll encounter quite a few more Crystalized Elements. These new yellow ones are Aroma elements. Also, since you can't do anything else with the plants, destroy them, and you'll recieve some Wood and Water elements for your collection. You should be full, or at least almost full on your Wood element collection at this point. Remember that the cap is 99. Continue north up the path until a scene plays. Now, press X by the sword for another scene. Continue up the path when you regain control and pick up the MAGI GRASS x2 on the ground. At the intersection, head right, and you'll find 6 Plants. There's nothing you can do with these now but destroy them for elements. Head back to the intersection and take the left fork to reach the next screen. Watch a scene. You receive the WOOD GEM, and you are now allowed to synthesize, because you have access to the Wood Mana. There's nothing else to do here, so head back left and exit the screen. Now, head back to the left after the scenes, and continue left at the intersection. Watch another scene. Examine the Sword (with the X button) in the ground for another scene. Follow the path back left (the Crystals have regenerated if you need the Elements still) and exit the Forest. Enter the Eden Temple. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Eden Temple ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Viese, Felt Key Items: None Items: Heal Herb - Synthesis Mana Items: Stone Crystal x2 (+16 Stone) Note: You can find two Stone Crystals in the Eden Temple if you take a right immediately. Shatter the crystals for +16 Stone Mana each. Inside the Eden Temple, head up into the building. Watch a scene. Now, exit the Eden Temple. Immediately head to the Belkhyde Gate to the south for a scene. After the scenes, you gain control of Viese in Noir. Controlling Viese, examine the synthesis pot, and out of the three items you can probably create at this time, the only one you will be able to do successfully is the Heal Herb. Select this item, use a Magi Grass (found in Marmel Forest) and a Pure Water (Found in the upstairs sink in your house). Only Synthesize one at first, do not waste any more items than necessary. After a short scene, you'll have created a Heal Herb. You can create Heal Herbs anytime from your inventory menu, as long as you have the proper amount of Elements to do such. This is because Viese used a special process of "Initialization" on them. Not every item can become "Initialized," but most healing items, and items you will use over and over again can be. I suggest Synthesizing at least a few Heal Herbs from the menu (using the "Mana Synthesis" command) at this point, since they only cost a single Wood Element to create. Exit Viese's house, and watch a short scene. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^ Episode 2: Belkhyde, the Other World ^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ The Desert ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt Enemies: Armadillo, Red Puni Bosses: None Key Items: None Items: Gradin Cape, Red Legien x2, Dem Ore x3, Aihie Fungo Mana Items: Brown Rock x2 (+3 Metal, +5 Stone), White Rock (+3 Metal, +2 Lightning), Plant x4 (+4 Wood, +4 Water) You start this Episode off in the middle of a dungeon. Open the chest just below you for a GRADIN CAPE. Equip it immediately, and head left for a scene. You are forced into a battle with an Armadillo. This is one on one, so hit it with Break Attacks and your special ability, Mana Strike, to kill it off quickly. There are a few new things to notice at this point. See the gauge at the lower left hand corner of the screen? This is your encounter Gauge. The higher this is, the more encounters that there are on the screen. If this is empty, there are no more enemies to kill in the area. You will also start with random encounters at this point. Continue left into the next area for another short scene. Felt can now use the same Mana Synthesis command that Viese was able to use to create the Heal Herbs. But remember, this is only on "Initialized" items. Continue left, and Shatter the rock for some elements. Now, fall down to the lower level by going south, and continue south until the path starts heading left. Pick up the RED LEGIEN x2. Continue up to the intersection, picking up the DEM ORE x3, and take a right. There are four plants over here to destroy for Mana. Head back to the intersection, and go left and watch another scene. When you regain control, head south and open the chest for an AIHIE FUNGO. Continue left down the path until it tilts north. At the intersection, go right and jump (with the O button) up the ledge. Up here, there are two Rocks to destroy for some Elements. Now go back to the intersection and continue left until you reach another intersection. Head down here, and pick up the MAGI GRASS x2. Keep heading left until you reach the exit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ The Oasis ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Enemies: Armadillo, Red Puni Bosses: None Key Items: None Items: Red Legien x2, Foul Water Mana Items: Plant x4 (+4 Wood, +4 Water), Red Rock x2 (+6 Fire, +3 Metal), Yellow Rock (+5 Stone, +3 Metal), Barrel (+3 Wood) Enter the Oasis and watch the scene. You regain control in your tent. Speak with the girl, and try to exit the tent. Noin joins your party. Exit the Tent. This is a small area. The glowing area is a Save Point, which allows you to restore your HP and enter the tent, so that you can save your game. Note that every enemy in the level will regernate if you enter the Tent, so be careful when using this feature. Head south and pick up the RED LEGIEN x2. Head over to the right, and press the X button by the Barrel to obtain some FOUL WATER. Break the rocks over here for some Elements, and head all the way to the northwestern corner of the area to exit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Tatalia Village ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Key Items: None Items: Ancient Mask, Phoenix Quill, Pure Water, Foul Water, Foul Water, Tatalia Cotton, Spoiled Meat Mana Items: Barrel (+3 Wood), White Rock (+2 Lightning, +3 Metal), Red Rock x2 (+6 Fire, +3 Metal), Yellow Rock (+5 Stone, +3 Metal), Box (+3 Wood) Tatalia is a rather large area with no random encounters. Head into the main village, and enter the first tent on the left. There are two chests in here, they contain an ANCIENT MASK and a PHOENIX QUILL. Exit the tent. If you examine the well at the center of the town, you'll receive some PURE WATER. Now, head to the far north side of the town, and examine the two Barrels up here, for a FOUL WATER from each barrel. Speak to the girl in the northern corner of town. Her name is Mitsue. Watch a scene. You probably won't be able to afford much from her now, but she will be useful later on. You'll fine a Yellow Rock in the northwest of the area for a few elements, as well as a Barrel behind the tent. There are also two more rocks in the southeastern corner of the town. Also in the southeastern corner is a chest containing some TATALIA COTTON. Behind the large green tent in the north of the town, you can obtain some SPOILED MEAT from the barrel. After getting these items, enter the large green tent for a scene. When you're ready, exit the town the same way you entered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Desert Fork ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Enemies: Salamander, Armadillo, Red Puni Bosses: None Key Items: None Items: None Mana Items: White Rock (+2 Lightning, +3 Metal), Red Rock (+6 Fire, +3 Metal), Brown Rock (+3 Metal, +5 Stone) This is not the dungeon we are looking for, but rather, a mini-dungeon on the way to our dungeon. Follow the path right until you reach a save point, and a four way intersection. Follow the south path all the way down, you'll find two rocks for some elemental extraction. This south path leads to an area you will visit later called the Great Desert. It is nice to open up for now, though. Head back up to the intersection, and take the far right fork. This fork leads you to a Brown Rock, and to the lower level. Once again, this fork allows you to access an area you will visit later, but you can not get too far into, called Regenbogen. Head back to the intersection and take the north path. This opens up the way to our destination, the Desert Ruins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Desert Ruins ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Enemies: Salamander, Fungo, Armadillo, Ghost, Red Puni Bosses: Imperial Footman x2, Imperial Soldier Key Items: Weapon Guide Items: Dem Ore, Spoiled Meat x3, Faux Puniball x2, Old Magi Grass x2, Faux Puniball, Aihie Fungo, Pure Water, Pure Water, Niv Tiara Mana Items: Box x11 (+3 Wood), Barrel x8 (+3 Wood) Watch the scene as you enter. Enter the ruins themselves. This will be your first dungeon. Follow the path and pick up the DEM ORE on the ground. Jump up (O Button) to the upper level and follow the path to the right. Jump up the next set up of stairs above you, and you'll find 8 boxes up here. Examine them, and you'll get SPOILED MEAT x3, FAUX PUNIBALL x2, OLD MAGI GRASS x2,and another FAUX PUNIBALL. Destroy the rest for some Elements. head back to the intersection and continue right. Soon, you'll reach another intersection, this one is a 4-way. There's a box to destroy if you continue along the path. Take the upper left path and you'll find a side room. There are 3 Barrels in here, as well as a chest containing an AIHIE FUNGO. Exit the room and head back to the intersection. Take the lower right path and follow it until you reach another intersection. This time, continue down the screen all the way, and you'll reach (guess what?) another intersection. To the right are two barrels, each of which contain some PURE WATER. Continue down the screen all the way and head up the stairs. There's a few more Barrels and Boxes up here, as well as a chest. The chest holds a NIV TIARA, which is just perfect to equip. Head back two intersections, and take the right path. You'll find a save point. Save your game if necessary. Continue right and through the far door. ****************************************************** Boss: Imperial Footman x2, Imperial Soldier Experience: 406 Skill: None Items: Gradin Cape Cole: 250 After a short scene, the true boss battle begins. You are facing off against two Imperial Footmen and an Imperial Soldier. The enemies get the first attack on you in this battle, unfortunately. The Soldier probably end up doing around 15 damage a hit to your characters, while the Footmen will end up doing 10 damage each. Keep your HP over 40 at all times, and when it gets lower than that, heal yourself with a Heal Herb from your inventory. Noin also has the ability to heal your party through her own special ability, if both of your characters are getting low in health. Use Charge attacks only when there are three enemies left in the battle. That way, you can have Noin use Force Blast on two of the three enemies, while Felt continues using a normal Charge attack, or Mana Wave if you end up with two levels of Force power after a few rounds of battle. Avoid using the Break Attack command until there is only one enemy left, and then use ONLY the break command, so that you can keep the enemy from damaging you as long as possible. As your first boss battle, this is not meant to be challenging, but it is also meant to show you how to fight the bosses of the game. ****************************************************** Head right and watch a scene. Open the chest near you and you receive the WEAPON GUIDE, which allows you to create a Craft as Viese later on. Watch a scene, and approach the left side of the screen for another scene. On your way out of the ruins, you'll encounter a new type of enemy, a Ghost. This type of enemy is unkillavle by normal means. Felt's Azure Azoth's normal attacks will be able to damage them, but Noin (or any other character's) normal attacks will always do no damage. Instead, have your other characters use their special attacks. In this case, have Noin use Force Blast to allow her to damage the enemies. Head back to the exit of the area (bottom left corner of the area) and head back to Tatalia Village. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Tatalia Village - Desert Fork ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Key Items: None Items: Ancient Mask, Phoenix Quill, Pure Water, Foul Water, Foul Water, Tatalia Cotton, Spoiled Meat Mana Items: Barrel (+3 Wood), White Rock (+2 Lightning, +3 Metal), Red Rock x2 (+6 Fire, +3 Metal), Yellow Rock (+5 Stone, +3 Metal), Box (+3 Wood) Immediately head to the large green tent at the top of the town. Watch a scene in here. Exit Tatalia Village, and head to the Desert Fork, where a scene plays out. Head to the Save Point to continue the game. Speak with Noin and then try to exit the Tent, and examine the Save Book. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^ Episode 3: The Share Ring ^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Eden ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Viese Key Items: Library Pass, Petroglyph Manual, Alchemic Econ, Metal Gem Items: Pure Water x5 Mana Items: Metal Crystal x3 (+16 Metal), Green Rock x2 (+3 Stone, +5 Metal), Metal Ball (+50 Metal) Your control is changed over to Viese automatically. Note that Viese has no items or elements on her at the moment. Exit her house for a scene. Head off the screen, and all the way out of Noir. Enter the Eden Temple, and head into the indoor area. Enter the first door you see above you, and you'll find it to be locked. Speak with Kreuz, and head back to Noir town. In Noir again, approach Yach's shop for a scene. Lutanus gives you the LIBRARY PASS. Head back to the Eden Temple and enter the Library. In the library, examine the bookshelf closest to the door. You recieve the PETROGLYPH MANUAL. Exit the library and head out of the Temple for another scene. Head back to Viese's house in Noir for another scene. When you regain control, exit Noir once again, but this time, head to the Great Cave, which is north of Noir. In here, watch the scene. Follow the path until you reach an intersection, and take the left. Follow this path up to get some Metal elements, and soon you'll change the screen. There's a rare Ball of Elements up here that will give you +50 to your Metal Elemental count if you destroy it. Also, you'll find a stone tablet that you can't quite read yet, but it's good to know that it's there. Head back to the previous screen, and go back to the intersection. Head up the path to the next screen. Here follow the path to the intersection, in which you should take a left. Up here, break the crystal and the rock for some elements, and open the chest for the key item ALCHEMIC ECON, which allows you to create Alchemist Medals. Continue along the path to the right and you'll see a scene. Speak to the girl for a scene. Continue down the path and speak to the Mana. You recieve the METAL GEM. Head back to Noir and enter Viese's house. At this point, Felt and Viese share items and elements. What Viese creates, Felt has access to. And what items Felt wins in battle or finds in chests or on the ground, Viese has access to. Immediately open the menu to trigger a new scene. Now that we have access to Felt's items, let's use the Alchemy Pot. At this point, you should immediately be able to use a Nue and the Mana Dour to create a CRAFT. After creating the Craft, watch a scene. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^ Episode 4: Infiltrating Risevelt ^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Eden ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin - Viese Read Viese's letter. Also, at this point you can use the Switch characters command. You can switch between Viese and Felt at any time as long as you are at a save point. Now, immediately switch back over to Viese. You should be able to create one more item at this point, the ALCHEMIST MEDAL. Use a Red Legien to create one or two of them, as you will be using them later on. Now, exit Viese's house and watch a short scene with Meila. Enter Viese's house for now, and change back to Felt. That's all we can do at this point. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ West Regenbogen ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Key Items: None Items: Super Nue, Spoiled Meat x2, Spoiled Meat, Magi Grass x3, Spoiled Meat Mana Items: Barrel x6 (+3 Wood), Box x3 (+3 Wood) Controlling Felt, try to exit the Tent for a scene. You're still in the Desert Fork. Exit the Desert fork through the Eastern (right)path the Intersection to open the path up to the next area. Note: At this point, you can visit a, for now, optional area. It is a good place to get experience and some money if you want to. I will cover the area later on in the guide, but it is called the Great Desert. Expect to use a lot of items as you enter there for the first time, as the enemies will be very strong compared to you. Another Note: Try to scrounge up 4,000 Cole before continuing with the game. There's an item you can buy in the next town that is that expensive. Though it is a lot of Cole, you need to buy the item immediately. If you can't it is perfectly fine to wait until later in the game though. As you enter the area, watch a scene. Head right across the screen and speak to the guard. After the scene, head right onto the next screen. Follow the path right, and you'll see an intersection. There are only a few boxes and a chest for later up the top path, so continue right. Watch the bottom of the screen and you'll see a ladder going down. Jump to the wall and climb the ladder down. There's a chest down here that contains a SUPER NUE. Continue right onto the next screen. Here, you'll find an intersection. Head south down it, and examine the boxes at the end. You'll recieve a SPOILED MEAT x2, another SPOILED MEAT,MAGI GRASS x3, and a final SPOILED MEAT by examining the boxes. Head back up to the intersection and exit the bridge. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Back Alley - Central Park - Riese Palace ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Key Items: None Items: None Enter the Back Alley. There's two doors in the alley. The door on the far right leads to a shop. In here, you can buy the item "Geology" for the huge amount of 4,000 Cole. You don't really need it now though. After this series of events, you'll have a bit more cole, so you can wait until then you buy it. Enter the central set of doors and you'll find the bar. Speak to the woman behind the counter, the Bartender. After a scene in here, speak with the Bartender again. She has the rare item "Book of Infinia" if you can afford this as well. It's doubtful you have that much money, but it's good to know where the item is. Exit the Back Alley. Two new areas have opened up. First, enter the Central Park. Watch a scene in here. Exit after this short scene, as there is nothing else left to do. Now, enter the Riese Palace and watch a scene. Our next goal is clear to us now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Entering the Great Lighthouse ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin - Viese Key Items: Garden Book, Aqua Gem Items: Mini Pendelook, Magi Grass x4, Magi Grass x3, Magic Grass x2, Huffin x2, Huffin, Huffin, Huffin x2, Huffin x2, Huffin x2, Huffin x3 Mana Items: Wood Crystal x2 (+16 Wood), Aroma Crystal x2 (+16 Aroma), Water Crystal x2 (+16 Water) Plant x9 (+4 Wood, +4 Water) Enter the Lighthouse for a scene. Exit after the scene and head back into Central Park. If you entered earlier, you saw a scene with the child. Speak with the child at the center of the park, and he tells you the secret way to enter the Lighthouse IF you can bring him a flower. Now, head back to the Back Alley and enter the save point. Switch characters to Viese. Controlling Viese, read the letter and exit your house. Head towards the exit of Noir for a short scene. Exit Noir town and enter The Eden Temple. In the Temple, head to the Library for a scene. You receive the GARDEN BOOK. This allows you to create Wonder Grow and Huffin Water. Head back to Viese's house in Noir. Examine her alchemy pot and choose to create a single Wonder Grow. There's no need to create more than one, as Viese will Initialize it, and both she and Felt will be able to create more using your elements once it has been created initially. Watch a scene after it has been created. Meila gives you a MINI PENDELOOK for your efforts. As you try and exit the house, Dour shows up for another scene. He tells you about Nymph. Make sure you have some Pure Water (you can get it from the Sink upstairs in Viese's house if you do not) and then head over to Marmel Forest. In Marmel Forest, create some Wonder Grow from your Menu through Mana Synthesis. 5-10 would be perfect. With Wonder Grow in your possession, you can cause the plants to grow from small into random items. Follow the forest until you reach your first two plants. Use Wonder Grow on them to receive MAGI GRASS x3 and some MAGI GRASS x4. Speak with Nymph, and give her a Pure Water (you probably will have one if you check your sink upstairs everything you play as Viese) and she will join you as your third Mana. You obtain the AQUA GEM. Use the Wonder Grow on the third plant for 2 MAGI GRASS. Continue right through the forest until you reach the intersection, in which you should head down. There are 7 plants to use Wonder Grow on down here. You will get HUFFIN x2, a HUFFIN, HUFFIN, HUFFIN x2, HUFFIN x2, HUFFIN x2, and finally HUFFIN x3 for using Wonder Grow on all of these. Now, head back to Noir and enter Viese's house. You automatically switch back to Felt. But, I suggest switching back to Viese for a moment. Since you have access to Nymph now, you can create some new items with Alchemy. First, let's create some Huffin Water. This requires some Huffin (which we just got quite a few of from Marmel Forest. If you need more, just use Wonder Grow on the flowers there) and a Pure Water, which you can find 5 of in the Sink upstairs in Viese's house. Synthesize only one, because after creation, Viese will Initialize the item. Now, immediately create another one of these Huffin Waters through Mana Synthesis. Now, choose "Fear Bottle." This item requires some Spoiled Meat (found in boxes and barrels found in dungeons and towns throughout the game) and one of your new Huffin Waters. Viese Initializes this as well. Note that with Huffin Water and Wonder Grow created, you can create some Holy Evergreen. Use Huffin Water (of a Huffin) as the first ingredient, and then create the item. Switch back to Felt and head back to Central Park. Give one of your newely obtained Huffin to the boy. This opens a path to the Sewer. Now we can finally continue the game. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Sewer ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Enemies: Ghost, Banshee, Red Puni, Puni, Brownie Bosses: None Key Items: Veek Tactics Items: Moon Stone x3, 200 Cole, Red Legien x2, Old Magi Grass x3, Pure Water, Ancient Mask, Magi Grass x3, Wax x2 Mana Items: Barrel x4 (+3 Wood), Box (+3 Wood) Note: Like the previous dungeon, you'll encounter Ghosts here. Remember that Noin's normal attacks will not work on them, but Felt's will. Another enemy, the Banshee, can also not be damaged by Noin normally. Use Noin's Force Blast instead to damage them. Head left and follow the path until you reach an intersection. Pick up the MOON STONE x3 and take the right path. There's two barrels on the far side, and continue along the path. At the next intersection, take a right, heading up the screen. Follow this path all the way to the end and you'll find a teasure chest. Open this to obtain 200 COLE. Head back to the previous intersection and take a left. Follow this until you reach another intersection, in which you should continue north up to the top of the screen. Pick up the RED LEGIEN x2, and take a right at the intersection. Open the chest at the end of the path for the Key item VEEK TACTICS, which will allow Viese to create the Roten Helm through Alchemy. Head back to the intersection and go left down the screen until you reach a second intersection. Head down the screen here and take the path all the way to the end and pick up the OLD MAGI GRASS x3. Head back up and continue left across the rest of the level. At this last intersection, go north and you'll find three barrels and a box. The bos has nothing in it, so just destroy it. One of the barrels has a PURE WATER though. Now, head south and jump to the lower level. On the large log, press the "X" button. In this new area, open the chest for an ANCIENT MASK. Go back up, take a left at the intersection, and at the wall, head south. Pick up the MAGI GRASS x3. Now, head all the way up to the very top of the screen following this left wall to find a save point and some WAX x2. Save your game. Note: At this point, since you have some Moon Stones now you can create some new items with Viese. Use a Dem Ore (or a Red Legien) and a Moon Stone to create a Pendulum. If you have that second Moon Stone, you can create a Roten Helm as well, by using a Red Legien and a Moon Stone. Head up the ladder at the end to reach a new area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Inside the Great Lightouse ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Enemies: Mini Puni, Red Puni, Banshee, Ghost, Brownie, Imperial Footman, Imperial Soldier Bosses: None Key Items: Legin's Wing Items: Globeball, Faux Puniball x2, Foul Water, Green Mana, Spoiled Meat x2, Ore, 450 Cole Mana Items: Barrel x4 (+3 Wood) This new dungeon is multi-storied and will have quite a few more encounters than your previous dungeon. The areas are small, but there are quite a few intersections. Head into the main area and you'll reach your first intersection. Take the path up the screen and you'll find some stairs. Go down them and you'll be in a single room with the chest. Open the chest and you'll receive a GLOBEBALL. Head back up stairs to the intersection and head left down the screen. Go down the stairs here to continue. You're immediately faced with another intersection. Head right up the side of the screen and you'll find a little storage room with three barrels and an item. The item is FAUX PUNIBALL x2. One of the barrels has some FOUL WATER in it, too. head back to the intersection and follow the path up the screen. When you can go south, do so. Head up the stairs here, and open the chest on this upper level. This chest contains a GREEN MANA. Head back downstairs. Head all the way up the screen and take the northern set of stairs to a new area. This level is just a short little area heading to the right up to a brand new level. This is the upper level portion of the Lighthouse. Head left and use the Save Point, if necessary. The stairs are at the far end. This time, follow the path all the way right (making sure to pick up the SPOILED MEAT x2 on the way) and head up the stairs. Continue left on the upper level up this set too. Head right across this next level and you'll be an an intersection. Take the left path, open the chest for some ORE, and continue left up the stairs. On the next level, head right and up the stairs here. Save your game up here, and follow the right path until a scene plays out. You are forced into a battle with 2 Imperial Footmen and 2 Imperial Soldiers. This is much like the previous boss battle, except that you are stronger now. You'll get a good amount of Cole and Experience for winning, but it is still a normal encounter at this point. Watch a scene. Exit the cell, and follow the path right. Enter the cell to the left and pick up the 450 COLE from the chest. Soon, a short scene plays. You receive the LEGIN'S WING. This is a key item that will allow you to equip accessories as well as armor. You can also learn "Skills" at this point. Most probably, the only "Skill" item you'll have is an Alchemist Medal or two, so equip one on Felt immediately so that he can start learning "Offense." Head down the stairs and follow the path down multiple screens. Save your game when you reach the next save point. When you head downstairs next, a new scene plays. ****************************************************** Boss: Imperial Footman x4, Imperial Captain Experience: 1900 Skill: 60 Items: None Cole: 600 You'll probably get attacked before you have a chance to act in this battle. You are outnumbered five to two, so you will take quite a bit of damage. The Captain is quite a bit stronger than the Footmen, but there are more Footmen. What I suggest doing is starting off by targeting the two Footmen in the back with an area attack. This will hit the Captain as well. Have your next attack be on one of the Footmen in the front row as a Charge attack so that you get pushed over the Level 1 Skill limit again. The Captain's base attack (Skull Splitter) will probably do about twice the amount of damage that the normal footmen's attacks do, so make sure you keep yuor HP over 50 or 60 at all times if you plan on not being able to heal after a large beating. Also, be very careful, as the Captain has an ability called Landslide that will do around 40 damage. Fortunately, this ability has some change time, so make sure you get your HP to a higher amount before this ability goes off. If you aren't careful, the Captain has the ability to kill off your characters because of his powerful attacks. Watch your HP and keep it well above the halfway point at all times, as it will drop VERY quickly until you get rid of about 3 of the enemies. If necessary, use Noin's Heal Breeze as well, as it is quite helpful. Once only the Captain is left, keep Breaking him so that you avoid taking damage and raise your experience by the end of the battle. ****************************************************** You are automatically brought down to the Sewers. Exit the sewers (there's nothing new). Note: Fight a bit in the sewers to get some money. Also, this will be your last chance for quite some time to buy those two extremely expensive items from the Back Alley. So you want to earn some money if possible. I suggest selling off any items that you have an excess of, or don't plan on using until later. As you exit the Sewers, Max and Noin leave. Finish anything you need to do in the area, as when you leave, you won't be able to come back for some time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Escape - West Regenbogen ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt Enemies: None Bosses: Mysterious Girl Key Items: None Items: Super Nue, Spoiled Meat x2, Spoiled Meat, Magi Grass x3, Spoiled Meat Mana Items: Barrel x6 (+3 Wood), Box x3 (+3 Wood) As you leave the city, an event automatically occurs at West Regenbogen. ****************************************************** Boss: Mysterious Girl Experience: 250 Skill: 12 Items: None Cole: None This is a one on one battle with a myserious enemy. She is quite fast, and will probably attack more often than you. Breaking her is rather useless since she is much faster than you as a whole. Keep with Charge attacks rather than Breaks. Charge often, and use Mana Strike at every opportunity. She doesn't have a huge amount of HP, but the hard part of the battle is balancing keeping your own HP up while damaging her. Her attacks are powerful. Her normal attacks will do 20 or so damage while her "Air Slicer" does around 40 damage to Felt. Keep your HP above 60 at all times, or even better, 80. Your foe is powerful and fast. Make sure that you heal whenever you even -think- you need to. And getting down below 45 HP is risking death. ****************************************************** When you regain contol, head left through to the next screen. Continue left through the central screen until you reach the far side. Keep going left and watch a scene. Jump up to the upper level, and follow the path to the intersection. Pick up the MOON STONE x2. Take the left path, and take the path all the way to the very end (ignoring the second intersection). Over here is a chest that contains an ORE. Head back towards the first intersection and this time take the right path up the screen. Follow this and soon you'll reach another intersection. Take the right (down) path and you'll reach a lower level. At the end of this path, you'll find a chest that contains a DARK MANA. Head back to the intersection and keep heading up the screen (you can not do anything with that tablet quite yet). Open the chest here for the MYTHOLOGY 1. This Key item allows Viese to create the useful Nectar item. This one is a bit longer than before, but the enemies are pretty much the same. Remember that you need Felt, or magical attacks to destroy Elementals. Follow the path until you can go right, and take that. Stick to the right wall and follow the path (ignore the first intersection going left, it brings you back to the entrance). All the way right are two rocks to destroy for Mana, so when you can head north up the path. Destroy the Red Rock here again and take a left. Go through the door here and you'll find a chest in this room. Open the chest to obtain a RAINBOW DISK. Exit this room and go back to the intersection. Follow the right path this time, and jump to the upper level. There's an intersection up here, where you should take a left. Head north through the door when you see it, and pick up the item in here for DEM ORE x3. Exit the room and continue left. Soon, you'll see some air coming from a hole in the wall. At this Point, STOP. You need to press against the right wall when running into the wind, in a hopeful attempt to reach the secret passage to the right. This passage (it is visible, don't worry) holds a chest that contains the kye item MELL AND THE MONSTER. This item allows you to creaste an Aroma Pot through Alchemy with Viese. Now, exit the secret passage. Head right through two intersections (hug the right wall) and at the far northeastern corner of the area you will find the path to the next screen. On the second screen of the Cave, pick up the DEM ORE x2. Now, follow the left wall all the way through the cave (soon, you'll actually be heading right) and eventually you'll reach a treasure chest at the dead end. Open it to obtain a GLOWING MANA. Now head back a tiny bit, and head south at the intersection and allow yourself to be hit by the wind and pushed to the lower area. Follow the right wall here out of the area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Agito Cove ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Noin Key Items: Mythology 2 Items: 500 Cole Mana Items: None Watch a scene. Immediately open the chest here for the MYTHOLOGY 2. This item allows you to create the Item Wish with Viese. Now, speak with the man in the northwestern corner of the area (His name is "Bully") for a short scene. Now speak to Max. Max gives you 500 COLE to buy the cloth. Immediately head back into the house and exit again for a scene with Yach. Yach asks for you to make 10 Wonder grows for him. If you have 10 on you, you will give them to him automatically, otherwise, you will need to either Synthesize them from your Workshop and he will appear, or you need to go to his shop and see a scene with him there to give them to him. You receive the BLACKSMITH 101 for creating the Wonder Grow x10. The Blacksmith 101 allows you to create Flay Hammers. Note: If you do not get this item, and create it, by the end of Chapter 20, you will NEVER be able to. If this happens, you will not be able to finish the game. I suggest going into your House and creating one immediately, as they are extremely useful items. Another Note: You should have a decent amount of money at this point, and should be able to buy the recipe items from the stores. Buy the REINCARNATION RECIPE, and a JEWEL OF EDEN from Melona. Buy a BBQ 101 or (or possibly both, if you can afford it) the NOIR from Yach. Now, exit Noir and enter Marmel Forest. Head over to where you found the Azoth, and use a Wonder Grow on the plant to the north (it was never there before). You receive the HAL FLOWER. Watch a scene. You receive the FLORA GEM for your pact with the Fragrance Mana. Head back to Noir and speak with Meila outside of your Workshop. You obtain a YELLOW MANA for helping your friend out. At this point, head into your Workshop. You should be able to create a few new items. These include an Aroma Pot, a Return Gem, a Damask Ring (or a few, you need these a lot), and a Flay Hammer (Very Important!). Viese initializes the Aroma Pot, Return Gem, and Flay Hammer, and as an added bonus, Yach gives you a new job. Make 5 (or more) Flay Hammers through Mana Creation and head to Yach's shop. He gives you 800 COLE for doing this for him. That's about all there is to do as Viese for the moment. Switch back to Felt. Exit the Agito Cove and Noin leaves your party. She gives you the CLOTHSPINNER. This allows you to create some Cotton Cloth with Viese. You can probably create some other types of Cloth as well, when you have a Phoenix Quill. Also, you may want to buy an Ale from Mitsue while you're here. Ale will allow you to create a Nectar with Viese. She Initializes it immediately, so you will not need anymore Ale. Now, your goal is the "Great Desert." Now that we have both the Flay Hammer and Wonder Grow, we can destroy less items and obtain more items. Items obtained through means of "Wonder Grow" or "Flay Hammer" are going to be put into the Harvested Items section. Elemental Items remain any items that serve no purpose except to destroy to raise your Mana Count. "Items" are items that you find on the ground or in chests, and Key Items remain the same as before. Immediately as you enter the Great Desert you encounter an intersection. Most of the area will be like this, with intersections leading to the same place. Heead straight down, and follow the left screen. Almost immediately, a scene begins. ****************************************************** Boss: Sand Dragon Experience: 900 Skill: 45 Items: None Cole: 300 Felt gets some unexpected help from a new ally in this battle. Though Gray is very powerful, he is quite slow, and Felt will act before him, often twice as often as him as well. This makes Gray a bad "Break Attack" partner in boss battles, as his speed will allow the enemy to get out of the Break Zone before he can go again. What I suggest doing in this battle is having Felt use a Charge Attack each of his rounds, and each time Gray gets a round, have him use his Twin Dragon Skill every round. That ability should take down well over 400 HP of the boss. The boss is not particularly strong, but his normal attacks do around 30 a hit. He also has a very nasty Quicksand ability. This ability does around 30 damage to both characters. Keep your HP over 70 or so with both characters to avoid deaths. Fortunately, Gray is powerful, the boss is slow, and Felt is fast, so with this setup, you shouldn't have too much problem taking the boss down quickly. Just don't bother trying to Break Attack the boss, keep Charging him and using Skills. ****************************************************** After a short scene, Gray joins your party. Continue left, and at the intersection, head right up the screen. There are two plants up here to use Wonder Grow on. These each reveal a Fire Crystal for you to destroy. Head back to the intersection and take the southern fork over the bridge. Over here, you'll find MOON STONE x2. Head back up, and continue left all the way. Fall down to the lowest level, and take the left path all the way down. Pick up the OLD MAGI GRASS x4. Head back right and follow the path south and around the screen until you reach the second screen of the Great Desert. On the second screen, press against the northern wall and you'll be able to pass the rocks when the screen gets larger. At the top of the screen you'll find a chest, which contains a STRING. Head back south and continue following the screen left. Head south when you can and examine the barrel here to obtain some FOUL WATER. Now, head back north and follow the left path, sticking to the northern wall. Soon, you'll see some plants, in a central Oasis area. Head south and enter the oasis from the left. There are three bushes in here for destruction purposes. Use the Wonder Grow on the two Plants in here for two rare Lightning Crystals to destroy. Head back out of the Oasis and exit to the left. On this new screen, follow the straight path until you reach the intersection, and head left to pick up those NUE x2. Head back and continue to the right, and head south when possible. Take the southern path and keep going south at every intersection, until you see a sign. Here, head right and stick to the right wall. Soon, the change screens. There's a chest over here. Open it to obtain a nice 2,000 COLE. Head back to the previous screen, head left until you reach the previous sign, and head south onto the next screen. On this screen, you're immediately faced with an intersection. Take either path south and examine the two barrels. Both Barrels contain some FOUL WATER for you. Continue southeast along the path until you reach an intersection. Head right, and south down the screen. There are two boxes down here, as well as a chest. Open the chest for a MAGIC PIPE. Head back north a bit until you see the save point. I don't suggest using it, as it will regenerate all of the enemies in the area. From there, continue right and watch a short scene. With a few Wonder Grows in your possession, use them on the Sprouts here. The sprouts hold: TATALIA COTTON, TATALIA COTTON x3, TATALIA COTTON x3, TATALIA COTTON x2, TATALIA COTTON x3, TATALIA COTTON x2, TATALIA COTTON x2, and finally, a TATALIA COTTON. Since you can't get Tatalia Cotton just anywhere, I suggest getting all of these here. After obtaining all of your Tatalia Cotton, you need to get out of this Hell Hole. I suggest still not using the Save Point, as you won't have as many encounters. Now you need to head -all- the way back to the entrance of the Great Desert. Head back to Agito Cove. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Agito Cove ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray Key Items: None Items: None Elemental Items: None Watch a scene. After your first jump, there is immediately another (although it is not easy to see) intersection. Jump up to the left, and take the left path all the way to the corner. There are two rocks up here. Use a Hammer on the green rock for ICE STONE x4. Flay Hammer the White Rock for RED ORE x6. Head back a bit, and jump up to the right when possible. At the very top of the large mountain, head all the way right and fall down. Use a Flay Hammer on the red rock for RED LEGIEN x6. Use another Hammer on the green rock to the right for MOON STONE x5. Fall down, and use a Flay hammer on the hidden green rock down here for ICE STONE x5. Now follow the southern path across the screen and open the chest at the end. It contains 960 COLE. Head all the way back to the top of the level, and exit at the top of the screen. This screen is quite a bit darker. Head north up the path until you reach the intersection. You can't do anything down the left path for now, so head across the bridge to the next screen. Up here you have finally reached the Summit of the mountain. There's a few boxes and barrels up here, but our goal is the door. It is green, and very hard to see on the northwest side of the screen. Watch a scene in here. Now you need to get down off the mountain. It's a long walk, so I suggest using a Return Gem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Agito Cove ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray Key Items: None Items: None Elemental Items: None Speak with Max. After a short scene, speak with Hagel again. Watch a short scene. At this point, the Weapon Synthesis Command opens up. Examine the anvil in your tent to use it. Speak with Max again for another scene. Noin rejoins your party at this point, but her gear has been removed, so you'll need to re- equip her. However, before you leave with Max, enter your Tent. Tt is a good idea to upgrade your weapons. Note that though you can upgrade further than this at this point, it is best to learn your abilities before upgrading to the strongest weapon possible. Giving Felt a Lightning Azoth will allow him to learn Aura Strike. Giving Gray an Ice Blade will allow him to learn Ice Breath. Give Noin a Gauntlet so that she can learn Storm Blast. Also note that now is a good time to make an Item Wish with Viese, if you have not already. After creating it, Melona at the item shop asks you for a Star Piece. You can get one of these by using an Item Wish on the Wolves found throughout the game. However, Felt needs to be around level 12 or even 13 for the item to actually work, which is why I have waited this long to mention this mini-quest. The best location to do this is either the Northern Cave or the Holy Path. After obtaining this item, give a Star Piece to Melona and she gives you a Glowing Mana in return. After doing this, speak with Max in Agito Cove to head across the Sea. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^ Episode 6: Assassin in White ^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ East Coast Highway ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Noin Enemies: Ghost, Zombie Puni, Vulture, Cacto, Banshee, Puni Rider, Floating Fish Bosses: None Key Items: Ice Age Items: Nue x2, Blue Mana Harvested Item: None Elemental Items: None This is a rather small area. Go back to the intersection and jump up the rocks to the right and follow the path until you reach another intersection. Go south down the screen and open the chest for a BLUE MANA. Head back north, and at the next interection take a right. Open the chest over here for the Key item ICE AGE. This item allows you to create a Bomb Ice with Viese. Continue north (ignore the left path, there's nothing there) and exit the area. As you exit the area, a path back to Agito Cove is opened (you can go back to the previous area at any time). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Max's Camp ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Noin Key Items: The Life Items: Ankh Elemental Items: None Watch the scene. When you regain control, immediately press against the left wall and walk behind the tents. Open the chest back here for an ANKH. head back north all the way and go right when you can. Open the chest up here for the key item THE LIFE. This allows you to create Eite Liqueur with Viese. Also, note that you can buy the key item BELKHYDE from the Merchant (he is dressed as a chef) just north of this item. This item allows you to create Belk Blackbelts. Now head a bit left and enter the large green tent at the center of the camp. After a scene, you should switch to Viese. You can create your Bomb Ice as Viese. You should also be able to create a Belk Blackbelt if you switch your items around a bit. Also, at this point, head near Yach's Shop. You'll see a scene with Klavia. You can also speak with Yach for a scene. After you're ready to continue, exit Max's Camp. Two new areas open up. One area is to the north (and there's nothing we can do there quite yet, other than fight, as the path is blocked, but there is an ORE to pick up from the chest here) so head down to the West Sessier Plains. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ West Sessier Plains ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Noin Enemies: Thief, Rogue, Gunner, Master Thief, Mercenary, Falcon Hawk Bosses: None Key Items: Crystal 101 Items: Niv Tiara, Yellow Mana Harvested Item: Glowgrass x2, Dry Glowgrass x3, Glowgrass, Glowgrass x2, Dry Glowgrass x2, Dry Glowgrass x2, Glowgrass x3 Elemental Items: Wood Crystal x2 - From Wonder Grow (+16 Wood), Aroma Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Aroma), Bush x2 (+10 Water, +10 Wood), Water Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Water), Twisty Plant x2 (+6 Wood, +6 Water), Fire Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Fire) Note: There is a new type of item you can harvest in this area. At this point, you will not have the items to actually Harvest it, so you're going to just have to destroy them in the field. They are plant types that are a bit different shaped than the normal ones you use Wonder Grow on. At the start of this area, press against the left wall and jump to the upper level. Follow this path and at the bottom use a Wonder Grow on the plant for GLOWGRASS x2. Now head right and use a Wonder Grow on the two plants here (one on the upper level and the other on the lower level) for DRY GLOWGRASS x3 and a GLOWGRASS. Open the chest for the Key Item CRYSTAL 101. This allows you to create Red Crystals with Viese. Jump back to the upper level and head back to the entrance. There are three plants to harvest near the entrance, and they give you GLOWGRASS x2, an Aroma Crystal, and a Wood Crystal. From here, head down the screen, and press against the forest. Here, you'll find a hidden path with a sign that say 'Dead End Ahead." Change screens and open the chest here for a NIV TIARA. Go back to the previous screen. This time, continue right and all the way onto the next screen. In this new Plains area, head right until you find an intersection. Head to the far right here (making sure to use a Wonder Grow to obtain DRY GLOWGRASS x2 and the Water Crystal), and exit the area. This opens up a path to Sessier Forest. However, we are not done with the Plains, so re-enter the plains immediately. Head back to the intersection and take the south path. Jump to the upper level, follow the path until you fall down again. Over in this broad open area, follow the path and use the Wonder Grow on the two plants for DRY GLOWGRASS x2 and a Fire Crystal. Continue in this direction and use the Wonder Grow another time for GLOWGRASS x3. Now, there is an intersection here. Ignore the left path (it leads back to the original screen) and take the path leading south. There's another intersection immediately. Take a right here and open the chest at the end for a YELLOW MANA. Take the left fork out of the Plains, and a path to "Fort Zeyung" Opens up. There's nothing to do there now, and you're finally done with the plains. Take a left and press against the upper wall and take another left when you can immediately. You will find MAGI GRASS x3 on the ground here. First, kill off the two Parafungos immediately. They are the lesser threat and can be killed off with two or three normal physical attacks. Don't worry about Breaking them, and Only Charge Attack them. Do not waste your Special Powers on them. The Poisonous Fungo specializes in status skills. He will paralyze you, poison you, put you to sleep, among other things. Poison is probably the most annoying of these as it causes your HP to decrease quite a bit faster than normal. You most probably do not have a way to cure this either, so you're going to have to live with the statuses. Keep your HP around 70+ at all times to be safe. If you saved all of your Special ability, have all of your characters use their strongest attacks (probably Aura Strike with Felt and Twin Dragon with Gray). Noin will not be the strongest at this point, but she does have a heal- all ability. You may want to use a Break Attack every round with her. If you can keep using special attacks every round, he should fall quickly, but the statuses will be quite annoying. ****************************************************** Watch a scene and you automatically exit the forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Max's Camp - Fort Zeyung ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Noin Key Items: The Life, Antidote Guide Items: Ankh Elemental Items: None Head into the large green tent at the center for a scene. You MUST buy the ANTIDOTE GUIDE from him for 100 Cole to continue with the game. This allows Viese to create the Cure Jar. Head back to Max's Camp and use the Save Point to switch to Viese. After a short scene, have Viese make a Cure Jar. She Initializes the item, so you only need to make one. You automatically switch back to Felt. Head into the large green tent for a scene. Head outside and speak to Max. Head back inside and speak with the girl. After the scene ends, speak with Max and exit the tent. Head down the screen and speak to the woman. Try to exit the area, and another scene plays. Noin leaves, but Fee joins. You may want to upgrade her weapon before continuing. The Cross Slicer allows Fee to learn "Twin Slicer." Note: Now is a good time to go speak with Klavia again as Viese. She is that moping Sound Mana who you probably spoke with before. After a short scene with Klavia, she disappears once again. Be sure to get the Elements from that Bush near here as well. Follow this path south until you reach a little area with a bush to destroy and two plants to use Wonder Grow on. You obtain GLOWGRASS x2 for using it on one of them, and you reveal an Aroma Crystal for the second. Head back up to the intersection and take the northern path to the next screen. On the second screen, follow the path until you reach a (hard to see) intersection. Use a Wonder grow on the plant to the right to reveal a Water Crystal. Continue right here and use the Wonder Grow on the other two plants for two sets of DRY GLOWGRASS x2. Head back and continue left past the intersection. Soon, a scene occurs. Save your game if you desire, and continue along the path. Watch a scene. This battle is unwinnable at this point. After a few rounds, Chaos slaughters you with Crimson Flash. Watch the scenes. When you regain control, exit the tent for another scene. When you regain control, continue right to the next screen, and through the next screen (where the battle took place) to a new portion of the woods. There is immediately an intersection. Take the right path around the area until you reach the next intersection, in which you should take a left. Open the chest here for a TOTEM SHIELD. The only thing that is at the intersection is a few Bushes to destroy for elements, so head back to the initial intersection and take a left. This brings you to a new screen. On this new screen, follow the path until you reach the intersection, and press up as far as possible, this will allow you to get to move to the left. Open the chest to the far left for an AROMA TALISMAN. Head back to the intersection and, still up here, press right and pick up the item for SPOILED MEAT x2. Finally, press up at the intersection to find the path to the next screen. You come upon an intersection soon. Take the southern path. There are quite a few plants here, but you can not use Wonder Grow on all of them. Instead destroy the "twisty" looking ones for Mana (you will be able to harvest them later) and use Wonder Grow on the plants for a Water Crystal and a Fire Crystal. Head back to the intersection and head north. Open the chest up here for an EXPERIMENT, which allows Viese to create a Lota Cake. After the scenes, take the teleporters back and head back to the main church through the long path. Speak to Eizlen for a scene. Also, there's a woman in the church that sells you the BOTANY 101 for 900 Cole. This allows Viese to create Yugdore Water. Note: Now is a good time to switch to Viese since there is a short break in the story. You should create a Heal Jar immediately, which Viese initializes. Melona gives you MOON STONE x2 for creating a Heal Jar. Once a Heal Jar is created, create a Yugdore Water. This item is a different version of the Wonder Grow, and it works on the Swirly Plants in areas like Altena Forest. Exit Viese's house, and if you've spoken with Klavia three times before, a scene plays out. Viese makes a pact with Siren, your new Sound Mana. Also, if you speak to melona at this point, she asks you to bring her a Rainbow Disk. You probably have found one of these in a chest on the way through the game. Melona gives you another GLOWING MANA in trade. Speaking with Yach also gives you a scene. That's pretty much all there is to do as Viese at the moment. Switch back to Felt. Follow this path for quite some time, jumping up and down levels until you see the barrel. Examine it to obtain some PURE WATER. Continue along and take the left path at the intersection. There's a chest at the end here, and it contains the MYSTIC BEAST, which allows Viese to create a Basilisk Eye. Head back to the intersection and take the right path up the screen. He tells you that a girl with Red Hair has been seen in the Forest of Ocean Mist. This is another area you open up through the North Grand Plains, except the exit is to the far side of the area. As you enter the area, speak to Noin, and she rejoins your party, along with giving you ME, MYSELF, & BOMB. Now, you need to switch to Viese, do so in Altena Church. Have Viese create a MEGA FLAME. Exit Viese's house for a short scene as well. Speak with Yach and you'll see a scene as well. You might want to go check out Dour's tree, as there are some new items by it. ======== Once you've created a few Flames, switch back to Felt. Though the goal is Parnacky Cave again, you can get a few items in the meantime. First, Fee can now equip a Rage Slicer, so she can learn a new ability. You can find 3 Silver Legien and Yugen Diary Vol. 2 in The Wetlands using your Bombs. This is actually required for later. You can find the Key item Liquidification in Onuki Cave, from a chest. You also obtain Red Ore x2. Now is in fact, a good time to visit there. You can not finish the Cave completely as of yet, but it is a good time to get this key item. ======== After you've gotten the items, head into the Cave. Take a right at the entrance and blow the rock up with a bomb. Take a left here, and open the chest for the key item PAPER SKILLS, which lets Viese learn how to make some Magic Paper. Head back right and follow this path to the Save Point. Save if you want, and head to the next screen. Here, continue until a scene plays. ****************************************************** Boss: Virum Zombie Experience: 1,500 Skill: 50 Items: Dragon Horn Cole: 600 This is your first "real" battle, seeing as you finally have access to more than 3 party members at once. Depending on your setup, you can follow one of two strategies. With Noin, Fee, and Felt, you have a fast party and can break the boss into anihilation, getting attacked less often. But with Fee, Gray, and Felt you have a stronger physically party, but you're going to need to rely more on charge attacks. Start off the first few rounds by charging your attacks. After getting your power up, you can start with special and breaking. The best attacks to use at this point are Storm Blast, Endless Blade, Aura Strike, and Twin Dragon. I wouldn't suggest wasting your points on Storm Blast though, as the other abilities you have at this point are stronger, and Noin's Healing Breeze is more important anyway. Depending on your strategy though, you may want to avoid specials mostly and focus on breaking. The boss has a Dark Mist ability, which does 30 or so damage to all three of your members, as well as having the ability to cause Defense Down, an even more dangerous status effect. He also has an extremely strong ability called Death Breath, which does around 50 damage to each party member. This ability has some charge time to it though, so you need to make sure to get everyone's HP before this ability goes off, because the boss is capable of having two attacks in a row, and can attack with both his Dark Mist and Death Breath for around 80 to everyone. While this is unlikely, do be careful. Healing may be a factor in this battle, so you may want to bring Noin in with her Healing Breeze ability. The boss starts getting dangerous with his physical attacks, so you may also need more than a few Nectars if you are unable to keep your HP up. ****************************************************** Watch a scene. Now, with Yugdore Water (yes, you do need it to continue the game) use it on the plants. You get PEARLBERRY x4, PEARLBERRY x3, PEARLBERRY x4, PEARLBERRY x5, and finally, PEARLBERRY x3. Now, exit the area. Note: At this point, it is possible to create a White Crystal, even though you haven't gotten any new recipes. First, go into the Red Crystal Synthesis menu, and then select a Pearlberry instead of a Red Legien as the main ingredient. This allows you to create a White Crystal. Another Note: There is a second hidden item in Parnacky Cave. Head south through the area, and on the first screen, near the exit to the second screen. Shatter the large rock here with the Mega Flame and open the chest for the ICE BRAND. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ North Grand Plains ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Fee, Noin Enemies: Baby Pig, Harpy, Wolf Leader, Wolf, Heavy Metal, Gunner, Master Pig, Mountain Pig, Were Cat, Brownie Bosses: None Key Items: Instruction Manual, Mana Power Items: 980 Cole, Blue Mana, Old Yadok Fungo x2 Harvested Item: Yadok Fungo x3 (Plant), Yadok Fungo x2 (Plant), Yadok Fungo x2 (Plant), Yadok Fungo x2 (Plant), Yadok Fungo x3 (Plant) Elemental Items: Water Crystal x2 - From Wonder Grow (+16 Water), Wood Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Wood), Box (+3 Wood), Barrel (+3 Wood), Bush x3 (+10 Wood, +10 Water), Air Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Air), Stone Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Stone), Poison Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Poison) From the Altena Church entrance, take a right at the first intersection, and follow this path all the way to the next screen. Drop down into the forest to the right and follow the path until you reach an intersection. Now, this part is a bit iffy, but at the large open area, follow the path to the upper right as far as possible, and follow this new path to a new area. In here, just head north and enter the purple area at the top of the screen. If you've played the first Atelier Iris this area will be somewhat familiar to you, as will the enemies. Head right and you'll immediately encounter a 4 way intersection. Take the southern path (left) and pick up the item on the ground, which is a PUNIBALL. Head back up, and go down the stairs to the right. Pick up the item here for a PHOENIX QUILL. Go back a -tiny- bit and walk across that bridge to the right (you can't do anything to the north just yet, as it is only one of those untranslatable tablets). In the new portion of the level, you'll see many plants to use Wonder Grow on. There are three Illusion Crystals, an Air Crystal, and finally some YADOK FUNGO x2. Head right (ignore the little platform, it doesn't go anywhere) and continue right at the next intersection. Jump up to the save point in this large area (but I don't suggest using it) and head left. Open the chest here for a GLOWING MANA. head back down and take a right from the save Point. Press X at the platform, and it leads you to a new floating area. Pick up the SHADOW STONE x2. Head back, and go all the way up the screen. Open the chest here for the TOWN HISTORY, which allows Viese to create a Divine Shield. Go back a bit, and take the right path, and use the rock to get over to a new area. Use a second rock to get over to an intersection. This time, take the lower rock to open a chest that contains a MAGIC PIPE. Go back to the intersection and take a right. You come to a 4 way intersection this time. Take the southern (left) stone and you'll reach a small island with 2 Bushes and three items to use Wonder Grow on. You obtain a Water Crystal, Wood Crystal, and YADOK FUNGO x4. Go back to the intersection, and head right some more. There are three more plants over here. These hold a YADOK FUNGO, YADOK FUNGO x3, and a Fire Crystal. Now, head back and take the top stone (the only one you haven't taken yet) and after a long ride you are brought to a new area. Here, take the left path and open the chest over here for a BLACK MANA. ignore the stone and head back. Head up the screen and jump up to the upper levels. Examine the door for a scene. Though the game tells you to check on things in Eden, if you go there, no events will occur just yet, so we need to just continue on with the game. Head back down to the intersection and take a left. This time, use the rock at the end. This brings you near the entrance. Continue heading left and enter the forest. Watch a scene. You receive TOLENA'S LETTER. Exit the forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ North Grand Plains ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Characters: Felt, Gray, Fee, Noin, Poe Enemies: Baby Pig, Harpy, Wolf Leader, Wolf, Heavy Metal, Gunner, Master Pig, Mountain Pig, Were Cat, Brownie, Bugbear, Sorceress Bosses: None Key Items: None Items: Fresh Glowgrass Harvested Item: Yadok Fungo x2 (Plant), Yadok Fungo x3 (Plant), Foul Water (Barrel) Elemental Items: Water Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Water), Aroma Crystal - From Wonder Grow (+16 Aroma), Barrel x2 (+3 Wood), Box x3 (+3 Wood) Enter the Plains again (from the Altena Church side, preferred) and head right to where you found Poe. There's a path at the south side of this screen (to the right) that you should take to continue on. In this new area, head south at the intersection and open the chest for some FRESH GLOWGRASS. Use Wonder Grow on the plants to reveal a Water Crystal and an Aroma Crystal. There's three more plants to the right, and use Wonder Grow on them for a Wood Crystal, YADOK FUNGO x2, and YADOK FUNGO x3. Head back up to the intersection and take a right. To the north are some barrels and boxes. They contain some FOUL WATER and SPOILED MEAT x3, but the rest can be destroyed. Continue right along the path for a scene. You receive a HEAL HERB. Head downstairs (now is a good time to synthesize the Nymph and Uru Cores, and as Viese says, these are valuable items and not to be wasted) exit Viese's house for a short scene. Head to the exit of Noir, but speak with Yach first. He asks you for a new item, Manatini x10, which you won't have at the moment. But he gives you the WEATHER REPORT, which allows Viese to make a Dark Lightning Cloud. Exit Noir, and enter the new area, Aquitto Spring. Follow the path in Aquitto Spring to the intersection, and continue left. Open the chest here for 750 COLE. Head back and take a right. In the next intersection, head up the screen, braking the Wood crystal, and open the chest at the end for a BLUE MANA. Head back and continue down the screen at the intersection. Soon you come upon another, to the south is a Poison Ball for Mana, so continue right here, and head south at the next intersection (to the right is a Water Crystal, if you need it.) Shatter the Poison and Wood Crystals here and head east across the bridge to the next intersection. This time, head right and you soon come upon yet -another- intersection. To the left you'll find two Illusion Crystals, and to the right the screen changes. Remember the location where the screen changes! You'll be coming back here soon. Head back to the bridge and go south, following the path all the way to a new, darker area. This is the land of Jiptus, and this the "literal" Aquitto Spring, according to the NPCs. Take a right at the first intersection to obtain a DARK MANA, and then head south to the new area. Speak with Jiptus. Head back to the bridge in the original screen of Aquitto Spring and take two rights to change your screen. Examine the Lithograph and then exit Aquitto Spring. Note: You should speak to Lutanus in the Temple Library for a short scene. it is optional, though, so you are in no way obligated to do it. In the Eden Temple, speak with Kreuz. Now head back to Noir and speak to Yach. You need to give Yach the Yugen Diary Volume 2. This is found in the Wetlands if you didn't get it earlier. Yach gives you YACH'S NOTES, which allows you to create Rainbow Cloth. This is required, as it allows you to decipher the Lithographs. Immediately head back to the Workshop and have Viese create one of these items. Only make one, as Viese initializes it. With a Rainbow Cloth in hand, head back to Aquitto Spring (note that you can get some Moon Stones on the ground near the chests in the area now) and head back to the stone. Use a Rainbow Cloth on it and then head back into the Spring to speak with Jiptus. You receive the POISON GEM. Head back to Viese's Workshop. There's nothing to do here yet, so head south to yet another screen. In the park, speak to the man at the far side for a short scene. Now, head back and speak with Theresa for another short scene. You need to bring Theresa some Goat Milk and a Moon Stone. Moon Stones and incredibly common, and Goat Milk can be bought in stores. After you have these two item, speak to Theresa again and give the items to her. Watch a scene and head over and speak with Duvine again. You receive the BOOK OF HERMES. This allows Viese to create the Key of Hermes. Now, switch to Viese immediately through the same point. =============== Have Viese create a Key of Hermes. Only create one, however, as Viese initializes the item. This is a very important item. Watch a short scene after Viese creates the Key of Hermes. This item opens Silver Chests. First, have Viese open the chest upstairs in her house. You receive the key item NO NAME 1, which allows you to create an Uni. Now, exit Viese's House and enter the Historical Society. You'll find the key item LUMLIA THE KNIGHT here, which allows Viese to create Blue Bracers. Now, head to the Eden Temple and take an immediate right. In the Stone Mana area, open the door with a Key and head into the next area. Follow the path here, and use the Flay Hammer on the yellow rock for RED ORE x6. Use it on the three Red Rocks here for RED LEGEIN x4, RED LEGIEN x6, and RED LEGIEN x8. The White Rock has SILVER LEGEIN x4. Continue left down the path until you reach an intersection. Take the south path here to read the Lithograph (of Stone) with a Rainbow Cloth. Head north to find some more rocks to use a Flay Hammer on. You receive MOON STONE x6, MOON STONE x6, RED ORE x7, GRAVITY STONE x3 and finally a GRAVITY STONE x2. The chest contains the Key item LOST ITEM, which allows Viese to create the Meteor. head back to the intersection and take the left path. Soon you reach another intersection. Continue left here to reach two more rocks. You receive GRAVITY STONE x4 and RED LEGIEN x7 for breaking them. Go back and take the southern path. In the new area, break the Green Rock for ICE STONE x5, and speak with the Mana at the end. Give him a Glow Lamp (you should have a few of these from earlier in the game) and he makes a pact with you. You obtain the STONE GEM. Head out of the Stone Mana's Holy Ground and go back to Noir. Enter Viese's workshop. At this point, you should have the items to create the Meteor, which she Initializes. The other items you may be missing for now. Switch back to Felt at this point. Note that you can head back to the "Desert" (not the big one, the small one you originally appeared in) and you can open a chest here with the Key of Hermes to receive the ANGEL FEATHER. Also, open the chest in Grand with the Key of Hermes to obtain the MANA POWER: POWER, which allows Viese to create the Zuvelk Core. Note: The Angel Feather is a very nice item and should be equipped on Fee or Noin immediately. Head back to Grand and enter one of the buildings on the original screen. A Shopkeeper in here says that she needs your help. After a scene, exit Grand. Now, head all the way right on this original screen until you exit the area. This open a path to the Dragon's Nest. Don't bother entering it, but you'll go there later. Re-enter the Highway. Now, head to the central portion and go south down the screen. This is a more open screen than the last one. head to the far right on this screen and you'll find a few boxes and a barrel. Examine them to find some YADOK FUNGO x2. Head south a bit from here and open the chest for the MANNERS 101, which allows Viese to create the Comet Gem. Exit the screen south here and you open a path to the Dark Forest. Once again, ignore this path and re-enter the area. Head back to the central portion of this screen, and use your Yugdore Water and Wonder Grow on the plants here for a TINGLEBERRY, TINGLEBERRY x2, and TINGLBERRY x3. You also reveal a Water and Wood Crystal. At the northwestern side of this area (the far left) you'll see an exit. Take this, and you'll open up a path to the Imperial Camp. Once again, ignore the area. You've done pretty much all you can in the Highway for now. Now is a good time to switch to Viese and create a few new items. Now that you have Tingleberries, you can create Blue Bracers. This item does take some decently rare items (Fresh Glowgrass) though. You should also be able to create a Comet Gem. If you don't have any Comet Stones, you can buy one from Melona for 1000 Cole. This will allow you to create a Divine Shield later, when you have a new Mana. Speak to the NPC in here for a scene. The Dragon's Den is an optional area that allows you to train. Speak with the NPC again to start the battles. The Elder Virium Set is rather easy. The first battle set starts against two Salamanders and a Virum. Take out the Salamanders first, as they are more annoying (but weaker) and then kill the Virum. The seond battle is close to the first, except with Basilisk instead of Salamanders. Kill off the Basilisk first, as they are actually more dangerous than the Virum, even though the Virum is faster. The third round has two Salamanders and two Basilik. Kill off the Salamanders with Charge attacks and use your special abilities as soon as possible on the Basilisks, as they are much more dangerous. The fourth round gives you a stronger enemy. This "Uni Virum" is alone, so keep using Break Attacks on him and you should be fine. While it is faster to use Charge attacks, Break Attacks will be safer. The Final Round is against the Elder Virium. Once again, keep breaking him rather than charging him, but once he is in the break zone focus on your special attacks. If he gets a turn, he has the ability to use Terra Flame, which does around 125 damage to all of your party members. VERY ouch. You want to keep him from having a turn as much as possible. Plus, the more you break him, the more experience you'll get. Hopefully, you can get more than 2,000 Experience from this battle when done correctly. You receive the DRAGON BLOOD x3 and Gray learns the Skill Dragon Slayer for completing this trial. After clearing the Dragon test, you can fight many more. "Dragon's Den Qualifier" The first round pits you against 5 Red Punis. This is very very easy, especially with Fee's normal large range attack. The second round pits you against two Salamanders, a Witch, and a Wood Golem. Get rid of the Witch as soon as possible as she is t
