Dragoon Spies

(This fic is all about Rose, Zeig, and Shirley during the Dragon Campainge.)

Chapter One: A Spell of Darkness

Just focus Rose," Charle called.
Rose felt the dark energy flow through her body. Zeig and Shirley watched. Shirley was a beautiful, caring elf princess dressed all in yellow and white silk and gold slippers with silver-sapphire eyes adorned by white-silver sliver on the left sides of her medium sized pupils, creamy-appircot skin, and blood-red hair. Zeig was deathly handsome with a smile that irritated Rose so bad; the man wore white breeches, a long sleeved shirt, brown leather boots, and blood-red armor and had tanned skin, golden-brown hair, and emerald-sapphire eyes with a crimson sliver over the large pupils going left.
Rose was panting. Beads of crystal sweat adorned her pale cream skin; her violets, which were rimmed in silver with an indigo sliver on the left side of her small, blue-moon pupils; her black hair was soaked. Rose was facing off with a young wingly girl who was about twenty. Rose's indigo and violet skirt was ripped and her short sleeved shirt was also as soaked as her hair. Rose was bare footed, just like the wingly student before her. This wingly, like all winglies had platinum hair, maroon eyes, and copper skin. The wingly wore dress that was also drenched in sweat. The two women were panting.
Rose's left foot slipped; she reavaeled her weakness and the wingly woman had seen it, for she had charged. Rose threw herself to the side as the wingly girl crushed to the floor. The wingly girl had fallen for it! The wingly, slowly climbing to her feet was left opened to attack. Rose whispered a spell and indigo fire burst from her wand, striking the wingly's left and sent the wand in that very had flying. It was then, that Rose collasped. The duel was a tie. The wingly woman's wand was blasted out of the ring and Rose was just too tired, so she just collasped. Zeig, Shirley, and Charle frowned. The wingly woman helped Rose to her feet.
"Well done girls," Charle shouted. She was plaesed to see her students helping one another after a tie then see them fight. "Caron, we may need that medicated water now." Rose was coughing real bad. Zeig helped Rose stay on her feet.
"I'll take Rose to her room," Zeig reported. His voice was light, patient, wise, and caring. He scooped Rose up and carried her to herroom in Charle's house.
Zeig entered a small room with an indigo wall that had a large bookcase full of spell books on it. Zeig settled Rose on a bed with honey-willow frame. The mattress was soft as a cloud and had rose pink and indigo covers. The wall that the wall was against was magenta with rose-pink flowers that were tipped in gold painted on it. All the other walls were white with flowers, boxes, a desk, a wardrobe, and a mirrior. On the desk were a bunch of papers an three vases of pink and bright yellow, pink and red, and pink and indigo rroses. The papers were mostly letters, notes, A+ assignments, and decoded letters. There was a window with coach like bed. The windows opened up to a balcony. The wardrobe was painted sky-blue with little white clouds and a golden sun painted on it. To Zeig, the room made Rose seem almost child-like and deeply innocent.
Rose looked like a child while she slept, curled up, on her bed. Zeig eyed her.
She's looks so helpless, Zeig thought.
Rose's eyes fluttered open. Now it was visible around her neck; a small, indigo sphere in a silver sphere holder. They were held on a silver chain. Jsut like Zeig's crimson sphere on a gold chain and shpere holder. These little spheres were called Dragoon Spirits.

Diaz's messenger, mysterious falcon flew to Shirley. She eyed the note and replied. She sent the falcon back to Vellweb. Shirley carried the note to Zeig who was in the living room of Charle's house. Shirley handed the note to Zeig as Rose entered the room in new clothes.
"This is sudden, but . . ." Zeig whispered.
"I accept," Rose announced.
"That settles that," Zeig muttered to himself. To Shirley, he said, "Send word to Emperor Diaz and Lady Miranda. We leave at dawn."
Rose frowned. Now of all times, for a reason Rose did not know, she really wished she had just kept her mouth shut.

Chapter Two: The Assignment

Diaz eyed the head of his elite healing team, the head of the first knighthood, and the head of Gloriano's spies. They were all that he had since everyone else was busy.
"My lord, plaese do not tell me you are ill again," Shirley begged.
Diaz's wife threw a worried glance at him.
"Shirley, I am well," Diaz assured her.
"Do you need me to march with my knighthood to Aglis or something?" Zeig asked.
"No, I need the three of you to go Kadessa," Diaz replied.
"Are you insane," Zeig exclaimed shooting up. Zeig qiuckly slapped his hand over his mouth. Now I've done.
"Follow Rose's orders," Diaz ordered. "For this mission, she's in charge."
"Is this punisment for what I just said?" Zeig asked.
"No Zeig, it's because he's sending us to spy on Melbu Frahma," Rose replied.
Diaz nodded. "You leave at daybreak; you are dismissed."

Rose's tower-room looked almost like her room in Ulara. But behind her silver-plum-oak bed was a picture of the divine tree. Zeig smiled. It was two hours before dawn, and Rose slept peacefully in her bed. Under her arm was a stuffed horse doll that was black with white diamiond on it's forehead. The doll was old, but Rose didn't go anywhere without it, even though she was twenty-one. Zeig knew she would be seperated with it in time. Zeig sat on the edge of Rose's bed, stroking her hair. Shirley crept in.
"She won't like you doing that," the elf whispered.
"There's a lot of things she doesn't like . . . this war is one of them," Zeig whispered back.
Shirley left. Zeig inhaled and exhaled. He remembered how it all started. Zeig was spying on Melbu Frahma himself and the next thing Zeig knew, he was a falcon being carried in a wolves mouth to Rose. Then Rose was kiddnapped by Faust and Zeig became the Dragoon of the Red-Eyed Dragon and he went to rescue Rose. He had fond her bleeding to death on Faust's bed. Shortly after Zeig got Rose out of Flanvel Tower, the floating fortress was shot down and Faust with. After that, everyone became a dragoon, but Shirley was the first and Damia was the last. Rose was the third one to become a dragoon, followed by Belzac, Syuveil, and Kanzas. It was about six months ago that Rose had finally recovered from the injuries that threatened her life.
Rose opened her eyes and moaned. Zeig stood in alarm. Rose normally awoke one hour before dawn. Zeg looked out the window; an hour had passed. Rose stretched and looked at Zeig. He was hidden in the shadows, but he wasn't as good as Rose in the darkness.
"You should really wear dark colors," Rose snapped. "If I can see you, Melbu Frahma will most deffinitly see you."

Chapter 3: A Judgement

Rose was hanging upside down with her hai briaded in a shadowy corner. Her eyes were on a map of Endiess. It was lying on a table. Zeig and Shirley stood in front of her, disgiused as slaves. They were all listening to the conversation Melbu Frahma was having with his generals. Rose wanted to kill him, but it was probably a bad idea. Unlike Rose, Shirley and Zeig had more experiance as dragoons. But even so, Shirley couldn't truly fight Melbu Frahma because she only used bows and arrows and was mostly a healer. Zeig was still a level three and could not do a lot of damage. Rose however was a level one going on level two. Rose and Zeig spotted General Marickin. He was their main target.
"So, the humans will go to liberate Fletz next," Melbu Frahma explained. "General Marickin, you're up."
Zeig, Rose, and Shirley smiled. Rose climbed back up the wall and into a vent. Zeig and Shirley snuck out of the room. They rushed to the firepit where Rose was waiting.
"You two are such slowpokes," Rose hissed.
"Right now, I really wished you had just joined the Imperial Spellcasters," Zeig muttered.
"If I did, I would have to go to the field far too much," Rose snapped.
"How cute, little spies," Melbu Frahma said.
"Holly . . ." Rose muttered.
"Shit," Zeig shouted.
"We are in serious trouble," Shirley exclaimed.
"Shirley, you and Zeig do yourselves a favor and get the hell out of here," Rose barked.
"We are not leaving you," Zeig barked.
"Hey, who is in charge here?" Rose snapped. "I am! I give the gods damn orders! Now get the hell out hell!" Shirley nodded and obeyed her comand, but Zeig stood his ground as all went black.

Rose and Zeig awoke in Zennebatos. They stood before the concil of the grand judge Nomos.
"How do you plede with the crime of spying on the Winglies?" Nomos asked.
"Not guilty," Zeig barked.
"Well, we find the two of you guilty as charged," Nomos growled. "You two will be given your penelties shortly. Nomos walked over to Rose and smiled at her. "But I may consider sparing you if you agree to a drink tonight." Rose spit right into Nomos' right eye, making the judge yelp.
"I would kiss a boar before a dare to go out with a . . . oh wait, you are a boar," Rose growled. The court chuckled and giggled at Rose's insult.
"I am a judge, young lady, not a boar like you claim me to be," Nomos said mockingly with a softy tone added.
"You could have fooled me," Rose said in her innocently sweet and mocking voice.
Nomos smiled, making him even more evil and mencing then before. "You name is Rose Harpth, hmm, I like your thorns."
"You mean my mouth you Hippopacratic Son of Bitch," Rose barked.
"Rose . . ." Zeig whispered. He was worried about her. She's lost her mind.
"That's exactly what I mean," Nomos pionted out. "Now, what do you mean by 'hippirict?'"
"You idiotic mual, you want justice? What's so justified about judging people without even knowing what they're like?" Rose asked.
"And you humans think you know justice," Nomos snapped. He looked around. "Guards, take the boy to his prison. The rest of you, leave at once. Everyone!"
Everyone obeyed. As soon as the room was cleared, except for Nomos and Rose, Nomos turned back to Rose.
"Now, you can answer my question," Nomos said.
"Really? I didn't know it was a question," Rose laughed.
"Just answer the question," Nomos order with a groan.
"No truly knows justice," Rose explained. "Not even Juliana, the goddess of justice. I can see you have statues of Juliana, almost everywhere, with fresh flower everday at her feet. You really have a lot of respect for her, yet you keep the real thing here as a prisoner and teach her the most injustified things I've ever heard. You know what, if you explore the world a little, you might learn something. But you can never really do that if you don't let Zeig Feld and I go."
And Nomos unchained her. The sackles and and binding chains fell to the ground.
"I want to learn," Nomos said.

Chapter 4: Battle of Life

Syuveil called charge while Shirley healed the injured. As the injured left at their full health, Shirley grew weaker. The more she worked, the more tired she became. After the battle ended and the last of the injured left, half healed because Shirley haddrained most of her power healing, Shirley fell into a chair. Caron Frahma, Charle Frahma's daughter entered the medical tent and made some tea for the sick, and dying since the day she gave birth to a healty young son, Shirley. Caron out the usual herbs in the tea and handed a cup to Shirley. Shirley drank it swiftly. Afterwords, Shirley the Elf Princess felt better. She got to her feet but collasped back down into the chair.
"You really should consider the treatment I recomended for you," Caron pionted out.
"No," Shirley snapped. "I must accept my fate. 'And when the child of moon escapes her death, eighteen years shall pass . . . the red-eyed hero, the jade knight, and the lost darkness will seek the help of the white-silver angel.'"
"You want the prophecy that your great-great-great-great grandmother wrote?" Caron asked.
"It means more then you think," Shirley replied. Caron gave her more medicated tea.

Rose and Zeig were back in Vellweb reporting to Emperor Diaz and his wife, Emperess Miranda. They repeated everything and Rose told them how she managed to talk Nomos into releasing them.
"Well, I'm sure Melbu Frahma will laugh and behead Nomos for letting the two of you go," Diaz said. He, his wife, and the two dragoons smiled. Diaz coughed.
"My Lord, are you okay?" Rose asked.
"I'm fine," Diaz replied. With the wave of his hand, Rose and Zeig left.
"He's twenty-five and he's dying," Rose snapped at Zeig.
"I know . . ." Zeig muttered.
"Zeig, he is the knight that sqiured you," Rose barked.
"And I have come to learn not to question his imperial majesty's autority and get into his bssuiness," Zeig pionted out.
"It's okay Zeig, Miranda is bitting my head off about it," Diaz said. "I will speak to Shirley when she returns."
"Where is she?" Rose asked.
"She's helping the resistance in Fletz," Diaz replied.
"Oh, I had heard rumors about the people of Fletz doing something about their depression," Rose muttered.
"I knew Fletz would be the first to resist," Zeig whispered.
"We all knew they would be the first," Rose pionted out.
"Rose, your spiy network has returned and geting the rest they long deserved," Diaz reported. "But I have a qiuck question."
"Yes you majesty," Rose said.
"Why did you ask to lead the theives and spies?" Diaz asked.
"Simple your masjesty," Rose replied. "I don't like being at the front lines all the time. And besides, I like the dark." She ran off.
"She is so strange," Zeig said. "What of my knighthood?"
"They are still waiting for orders," Diaz said.
"I will . . . give some time off," Zeig anounced. "They need to relax."

Epilogue: 4 Years Later . . .

Zeig's sword, the Fire Shredder met Melbu Frahma's sword, the Dragon Buster. The two swords met many times in the battle. In the corner of Zeig's eye, Rose stood on a balcony with her hands over her heart and scremaing her head off, begging Zeig to back down. Zeig refused to back down; this was for the people . . . and for Rose herself.
"It's time to finish this!" Zeig yelled. He burried his sword through and through Melbu Frahma's heart . . . if he had a heart. The evil wingly smiled. Oh shit!
"You are most truly right," Melbu Frahma laughed. He cast a spell in a dark, evil language and Zeig cried in pain. "Say good-bye to your love."
Zeig threw a last, painful smile at Rose. She left her spot to try and save him. He was now lying on a rock with an injury. She reached out to grab his hand. One last tear streaked his face.
"Let go . . . save . . . yourself," Zeig ordered.
"ZEIG!!!" Rose screamed as a rock hit her in the side and sent her flying. She never heard his last three words. "I love you."

It appears that Belzac was killed by a Virage like Kanzas. Damia broke her arm; having the kind of injury, she was to weak to fight and retreated with Syuveil to protect her. Syuveil took ten arrows to the back before he finally fell and Damia was taken by surprise and her skull was bashed in. Shirley was recovered by ten nine dragons and Rose and she shortly died at the shrine of the White-Silver Dragon. The shrine later became hers. As for Diaz, he and Miranda founded Mille Seseau and became king and queen. They bore five daughters. On the birth of his sixth daughter however, Emperor Diaz had a serious heartattack and died. The founding gods and goddesses of Serdio and Tiberoa, as well Miranda, were all sisters of Rose. Rose spent two monthes in mourning and soon left to serve Miranda fo a month. It was then, that Rose establissed the Sacred Sisters. After her month in Denningard, Charle came with the Moon Mirror and made it the national treasure. Charle Frahma, assisted by Rose created the Black Monster. Later on, the dragons started getting killed accidents. Dartimus (Dart and Zeig's dragon) died of an attack on a villege, Lorea (Shirley's dragon) died protecting the shrine from a large group of bandits, and so on.
