The Deadly Game of Love

[Disclaimer: and I decided to make Riku leave Destiny Islands]

After Xemnas was beat, Sora and Kairi went back to Destiny Islands. They offered Riku to come back with them, but for some reason, he wanted to stay in The World That Never Was. People who had lost their worlds, went there because Traverse Town was over crowded. On occasion, Sora and Kairi would come visit Riku.

On their current visit Sora asked, “So how come you wanted to stay here, Riku?” He didn’t answer, he was too busy starring at something. “Hey, Riku! Earth to Riku! Hello?” Sora called in his face. “Huh?” he finally said. “What are you starring at, Riku?” Kairi asked before Sora could ask his question again. “Uh, nothing,” he replied. Sora scowled and got behind Riku to see what he was starring at. In the corner of the club, was a girl sitting there reading a book. “Are you starring at her?” Sora asked pointing to the girl. “What?! No!” Riku said, quickly slapping Sora’s hand down. The girl had light (really light) blonde hair tied in a pony-tail with her bangs hanging in front of her face, down to her shoulders, (her hair is a little longer than her bangs). She wore a white mini-tank-top, with jeans and tena-shoes.

“So if your not looking at her, then what are you looking at?” Sora asked. “Nothing, I told you,” Riku said hotly. “Ohhh! You are looking at her, aren’t you?” Kairi said. “No,” he snapped. “So then how come every time you stop talking you look over at her?” Sora said sarcastically. “I don’t.” He turned his head to the corner. “See!!!!” Kairi and Sora exclaimed at the same time. Their shouting startled Riku and he fell out of his chair. Several people looked at him, but some one had come over to help him up. “You okay?” “Yeah,” he answered, as he looked up to see who it was. Riku almost fell over again, it was the girl that sat in the corner. “Okay,” she said quietly, and walked back to her table. “Ohhh! Riku’s blushing!” Sora pointed out. They both started to laugh, “Cut it out you two!” Riku said looking away. “What’s your problem?” Sora said. “For the millionth time, nothing!” he said angrily. “I think Riku has a crush on that girl!” Kairi whispered. They both giggled, Riku glared at them, and then they stopped.

The radio reported a blizzard coming in, and said no one was allowed outside until it passed. When the girl heard this she let out a sigh of disbelief. She set down her book, and looked out at the lightly falling snow. Riku just kept starring at her. “You know, Riku, you could go talk to her,” Kairi suggested. “I think he’s too scared,” Sora teased. “Wow, Sora! You can think?” Riku said hotly. Sora just frowned. Later when the blizzard was almost there, the girl got up and was walking past them, to see if she could check out a room. Right then, the power went out, and tripped on something. Riku caught her before she hit the ground. “Are you okay?” he asked. “Yeah, thanks . . . .?” “Riku,” he said. “Riku, thanks,” she repeated, “My name’s Sierra.” Sierra stood back up, and kept walking, in the dark, to the desk of the club {which is also a hotel}. “Well, at least you know her name,” Sora said.

“So, I’m gonna guess she’s the reason Riku stayed here,” Sora said to Kairi as they walked up the stairs. “Probably,” she answered. They went into there own rooms, Sora looked out his window and saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was Sierra, leaning on the edge of the balcony. “What the heck, is she doing outside in a blizzard?” he asked himself. Sora heard someone outside his door, he looked outside of it, it was Riku. “Oh, this oughta be good,” he whispered. Riku walked up to a door and knocked on it, Sora quickly rushed to the window. Sierra turned around and walked inside, Sora ran back to his door, Riku was gone. But there was a bouquet of flowers, and a black box sitting there. Sierra opened her down and looked down the hallway, and then at the ground. Her face light up with surprise and curiosity, she looked down the hallway again to see if anyone was there, but there wasn’t. She went inside.

When Sierra got back to the balcony, she gently set the flowers down, and opened the box. Inside was a black choker-necklace, with a beautiful blue sapphire hanging on it. Her face light up even more, she put it on right away, then noticed something on the flowers. She picked it up and read it.

Sierra,

I know we’ve just met, but I’ve been watching you for a while. You’re the only reason I stay in this world.

-Riku

She lowered the note and looked up the stormy sky, with a smile on her face. It was a short note, but nice one. Riku didn’t have to say anymore. Sora quickly closed his door, and started to laugh his head off. “I can’t believe he actually did that!!!” He continued to laugh, until somebody knocked on his door. He opened it, it was Kairi, and she wasn’t looking very happy. “Kairi . . . . heh heh,” he said knowing he was in trouble. “What the heck are you laughing at, Sora?!” she demanded. “I’ll show you,” he said. Sora pulled Kairi in and pointed out his window. “So?” she asked. “Look what’s on the railing.” Kairi saw the bouquet, “Who’s it from?” Then Sora started to laugh again, “Sora! Come on who’s it from?” He only laughed harder. “R-R-Riku!” he finally managed to say. “Are you serious?!” Sora nodded, and then Kairi burst out laughing.

The next day Sora and Kairi got up early to go see Riku. They couldn’t find him though, “Hey look out side, Sora!” Kairi exclaimed. Sora looked out the window, and saw Riku and Sierra going for a walk through the snow. “ . . . .” Sora remained silent, and then a devious smile crossed his face. “What are you thinking?” Kairi asked. “Follow me,” he answered, as he raced off for the upstairs deck. “Mind telling me what you’re up to?” she asked again. “Okay, you know how the sky is still stormy?” “Yeah.” “Well watch this,” he said. He cast Thundaga right next to Sierra. She jumped up and threw her arms around Riku’s neck and buried her face in his coat. Sora and Kairi had to resist laughing until they were back inside. Then they burst out laughing. “I can’t believe you did that!” Kairi said between laughs. “Yeah! But it was worth it!” he exclaimed, “When are Donald and Goofy gonna get here? I have to tell them!!” “H-H-Here they come!” Kairi managed to say. “Donald! Goofy! Guess what?!” he called out to them. Both of them came running up. “You managed to get in trouble with out us?” Donald said sarcastically. “No!! Well, yes, but that’s not it!!” he said. “Then what is it?” Goofy asked. Kairi and Sora started laughing again, “Look what Sora did!!” Kairi yelled as she turned the camera back on, {yes, she recorded what Sora did, I just didn’t type that she brought it}. Donald and Goofy watched the recording, and started laughing too. “Mr. Darkness is in love?!?!” Donald struggled to say. “Yeah! And it’s hilarious!!” Sora said.

Okay, so back to when Sora pulled his little prank. “Are you okay, Sierra?” “Yeah, I’m fine,” she answered, as she let go of him. “I don’t think that was real lighting,” Riku said. “Why’s that?” “Lighting doesn’t explode like that on impact . . .” “So your saying someone cast it for amusement?” “Yeah and I know exactly who did it.”

Later on they went back to the club/hotel {Riku kinda lives there, and Sierra already checked out}. Sora and Kairi came running up to them. Riku and Sierra turned around and gave a fierce and terrifying glare. Sora and Kairi’s smile faded, and was replaced by a guilty look. “Sora did it!!” Kairi said quickly, “I swear!” Riku and Sierra looked at him with full intensity. “Uhh . . . I think I here Donald calling,” Sora said nervously. “Wait for me!” Kairi added. “They aren’t very brave,” Sierra said doubtfully. “No they’re not. But I know how we can get revenge. And it’ll be worse than what they did,” he said evilly.

“I hope they aren’t too made at you, Sora,” Kairi said sympathetically. “Yeah, me too . . . Hey!! Why just me?!” “Maybe because you’re the one who cast it?” Sora simply looked down. “I bet if you just apologize, they won’t be mad any more,” she suggested. Sora looked up to say something, but was stopped by Riku’s little revenge idea. “!” “!” Sierra and Riku burst out laughing even harder then Sora and Kairi. What they had done was: Sierra quietly snuck up behind Kairi, and Riku snuck up behind Sora. Right when Sora looked up they pushed Sora’s and Kairi’s heads together, making them kiss. Sierra and Riku ran off quickly before Sora or Kairi saw them. As soon as Sora and Kairi pulled away, Sora looked around the room to see who pushed them, but he didn’t see who did it [J]

It was getting late, “So where do you live, Sierra?” “Up in Memory Skyscraper,” she answered. “Do you want me to walk there with you?” he asked nervously. “Sure,” Sierra said cheerfully. When they got to her apartment, Sierra ran at the bed and kicked something off, and it landed with a ‘thud’ then rolled under her bed. “What was that?” Riku asked. “Nothing,” she said as calmly as possible. Sierra quickly scanned the room for anything else that shouldn’t be out while someone else was in her room. But thankfully there wasn’t. Sierra walked over to her window and opened it, “Look at this view.” Riku looked out the window. “Wow, that’s a great view of the world!” He was impressed, the view went almost to the end of the world. She moved out of the way, and then slipped on something. “!!!” Another thing that should be hidden, Sierra stuffed under the bed. Luckily, Riku didn’t notice she stuffed something under the bed, he just helped her up. Sierra had stood up so quickly, that their faces came very close to each other. Riku slowly put his hands around her waist, as she wrapped hers around his neck.

“Ohhhh!!” came Donald’s voice suddenly. “What is it, Donald?” Sora asked. “Heh heh heh! Look! Look!” Sora took the binoculars from him, while the neck strap was still on him. “Uhh {gag} Sora?” he struggled to say. Sora looked where Donald was pointing. “Ohhh!! Ohhh!! Kairi look!” Kairi looked through one of the eye holes. “Ohhh!!! Heh heh heh!” Where they were looking was right through the open window of Sierra’s apartment.

They foreheads made contact, and their lips weren’t far behind. Riku pulled Sierra closer, and she let him. They closed their eyes, and had a long romantic kiss, right there next to the window. At that time, they didn’t really care if someone saw. Besides it was top floor, who would be able to see? When they pulled apart, they looked into each other’s eyes, dazed and dreamy eyes. A small smile crossed both their faces, and right when they went to kiss (again) something crashed and fell in the other room. Both of them ran to see what it was, a cloaked figure looked at them. Sheer anger, fury, rage, and hate crossed Sierra’s face. “YOU!!” she screamed in fury. The figure darted passed them and into the hallway, Riku started to chase after him with out looking to see if Sierra was behind him.

But she stayed, instead she grabbed a black skirt, black mini-tank top [the left side had a long sleeve] and changed into them. She threw on a long black trench coat and a black motorcycle helmet, and then leapt out the window {She has shorts on underneath!}. Sierra landed lightly on a demonic-looking motorcycle, it was all black with evil red strips {the motorcycle is the style as the one in Space Paranoids}. She sped off around the building, where the cloaked figure was about to exit.

Meanwhile, Riku caught the cloaked man, and tore off his hood. “Ansem?!” he exclaimed. “What the heck are you doing?!” Riku demanded. “Stopping you from killing yourself.” “What?” “Sierra is not what she seems to be,” he said. “What do you mean?” “She isn’t even human. Xehanort created her as his last experiment. He made her to destroy every last bit of light in the universe. Sierra is the ultimate assassin, nothing can stop her. Many have tried, and many have failed. It is said that no Keyblade wielder, or even the Keyblade Master can kill her.” Riku thought for a moment, and then said, “Do you really expect me to believe that?” “Well of course! Her first job was to locate Kingdom Hearts, and she succeeded, that’s why there are heartless. But as you know, Xehanort was killed but just before he died, he told her to eliminate any one with a Keyblade, and anyone who stood in her way. Only you, Sora, and Kairi are left. You three must stay away from her if you want to live to see tomorrow.” “Whatever,” Riku said walking toward the exit, “She probably doesn’t even know how to wield a weapon.” He walked out the exit, and Ansem was right behind him. They both stopped dead in their tracks, not more than ten feet away, was a black figure on a demonic motorcycle. Riku and Ansem starred at the figure, and then a pair of blood red eyes shown through the black glass on the helmet. “Riku, run,” Ansem said as quietly as possible. “What?” “Run! Riku run!” Ansem shouted. The both took off running as fast as they could, and they ran even faster when they heard the motorcycle’s engine roar as the bike took off right behind them. The figure stood up, the motorcycle didn’t lose any speed, and walked to the front of the motorcycle right above the wheel. The black figure began to reach out to grab one of them, but just then a Keyblade came flying out of nowhere and hit the figure in the arm. The impact knocked the person off the motorcycle and onto the ground, sliding fifteen feet away. The demonic bike disappeared.

Riku and Ansem looked to see who threw the Keyblade. It was Sora, with Kairi beside him. Both of them came down to see if they were alright. “You fools!!” Ansem shouted. “Huh?” Sora and Kairi said at the same time. “You’re playing right into her trap!” “Excuse me?” Kairi said. “Ansem thinks Sierra is some sort of assassin for Xehanort,” Riku informed them. “I think somebody’s a little off their rocker,” Sora said quietly. “Don’t you dare dream of ignoring me!” a voice called out. All four of them spun around, only to see the black figure standing up. Their red eyes glowing furiously. A cold chill ran down their spines, as if they were looking at the essence of evil it’s self. The figure lifted its hand and threw something at them. Four dark needles hurtled at them. Sora, Riku, and Kairi were paralyzed with fear and couldn’t move out of the way. “Get down!!” Ansem shouted as he threw himself in the direct path of the needles. All four needles struck him in the neck. Ansem fell over dead. All three of them starred in horror, “Is this the first time you’ve seen an ally die in the line of duty?” “ . . .” “Hm? Where did the third one go?” Riku had vanished from sight, he tried to sneak up and stab the killer in the heart. But when he did, it was like stabbing gas. The killer turned around to face him. Riku swore the killer couldn’t have older than 16. “You’re a naughty boy . . .” The killer grabbed Riku by the throat, and threw him across the street like a rag doll. But as she threw him, he pulled off her trench coat. Revealing a black skirt, and a black mini-tank top with a long sleeve on the left side, and tightly laced black boots that went half way to her knees. “Riku! Are you okay?” Kairi asked. He only starred as the figure began to glide closer. “Stay back!” Sora shouted as he threw Oathkeeper at the killer, it struck her in the knee. She stumbled, but something wasn’t right. Instead of bleeding, a dark gas seeped out. “Perhaps, another time . . . Keyblade master.” With that the figure disappeared in the night.

Sora and Riku lifted Ansem’s corpse and began to carry it away. Kairi walked quietly behind them, none of them wanted to talk.

They called Cid when they got back, but Yuffie answered, “Hey guys! What’s up?” They looked down at the floor. “What’s the matter?” she asked. “Confound it! Get out the way!” came Cid’s grumpy voice. “Hm? What happened?” he asked. “Ansem was killed,” Kairi spoke up. “Say what?! Who killed ‘im? I’ll get whoever done it!” “I don’t think you can . . .” Sora said. “Why’s that?!” “Because when I stabbed the killer, it was like stabbing gas,” Riku said. “Like stabbin’ gas? Who on earth—“ He thought for a second. “Yuffie!” “What?” “Go look up Xehanort’s last experiment! NOW!!” “Okay! Okay! Geez . . .” They waited, and Yuffie ran back with a huge file in her arms, “Here.” Cid began reading it. His face went blank, “Holy--“ That would be when he unleashed an array of cussing. “CID!!” The four of them shouted. “What?” They glared at him. “Take a look here, it says his last experiment was an assassin.” “We know that,” Riku said testily. “Well! Anyways, it also says she’s made up of pure darkness, AND, on the outside she appears to be an innocent 16-year-old girl.” “Okay, what’s she look like?” Kairi asked. Cid brought up a picture, “That’s the best one in the stupid file. It’s more of a clip, her first killing spree.” He played it. A girl, who looked exactly like Ansem’s killer, was slaughtering people without hesitating, and all those people where Keyblade wielders. After they were all dead, the camera zoomed in when she took off her helmet. The view, from behind, showed a blonde girl with her hair tied in a pony-tail (a little longer than her bangs) and her bangs hanging at her shoulders. She turned her head at the camera. Showing icy blue-grey eyes, and a perfectly calm expression. Sora, Riku, and Kairi starred at the screen, until Cid took it off. Then they looked at Riku, his face was filled with confusion. “What’s her name?” Sora asked. “Lemme see . . . . Here it is, it’s Sierra . . .” he said slowly. All there faces went white with fear. “O-okay, thanks Cid,” Kairi said as she turned off the screen. “I think we should leave Riku alone,” Kairi whispered. “Yeah, me too.” Sora and Kairi walked out of the room. “There’s no way that they’re the same person,” he told himself. Riku went to Memory Skyscraper.

He saw Sierra throwing away the broken lamp, then she began limping back inside. Riku ran up to her, “What happened?” he asked. “Oh, I fell,” she lied, “What’s the matter with you? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” “Somebody killed Ansem.” “Who?” she lied again, she knew exactly who it was. She killed him. “Some crazy old guy, who thought you were an assassin for Xehanort.” “Oh, really?” she asked. “Yeah.” “Well,” she began. “What?” “I was just thinking maybe . . . You should have listened!” Before Riku could react she kicked him in the chest and sent him flying through the air. When he opened his eyes, she was dressed just like the killer. “Perhaps there is a reason elders are wiser than the young, wouldn’t you agree?” Riku stood up as quickly as he could, and pulled out Soul Eater. “Oh please, you don’t have the guts!” Sierra was right, but Riku thought if he could make a good enough bluff, he might be able to get away. That is if he could. Sierra began to advance, as she walked forward Riku became more and more terrified. Sierra quickened her pace, Riku took a small step back, “You won’t win, you can’t win! You thought you could trust me didn’t you?” Riku didn’t answer, he still tried to make a good bluff, but it wasn’t working. He needed to get help. “There’s no escape,” Sierra sealed the door behind him, “You need help, don’t you? Go ahead, call for your friends. It will make my job even easier!” ‘I should have listened to Ansem!’ Riku thought. Sierra lifted her hand, a dark needle appeared between each of her fingers. She threw them at Riku, he blocked all but one, which hit him in the shoulder. “How can you take a life, without hesitating?” he demanded. Sierra stopped, “I just can! Because I don’t have any pathetic human emotions, I was made for killing!” The needle was dissolving into his shoulder, and he screamed in pain. Riku tried to pull it out, but when he touched it, it burned his hand. “Only I can pull the needle out,” she said. “You could be perfect bait to lure the other 2 out here. Trendils of Darkness!” Just then, long whip like streams of darkness wrapped themselves around Riku. Sierra grabbed him and dragged him out to the middle of the street, and then shot a red flare passed Sora’s window. Sierra quickly hid in the shadows.

“Sora!” Kairi yelled. “What?” “Riku’s tied up in the middle of the street, we have to go help him!” They ran out to where Riku was, as soon as they pulled the darkness off him, he yelled, “Run! It’s trap!” “What?” Just then a rain of dark needles poured out of the sky. “Look out!!” Riku said as he shielded Sora and Kairi from the poisoned needles. “Riku!” “J-j-just r-run!” He struggled to say. The needles were 10 times more poisonous than the first one that stabbed him in the hall. “Trying to save your friends by killing yourself? Who’s gonna protect them when your gone?” Sierra walked out of the shadows, “I guess we’ll find out soon, won’t we?” “Why are you doing this Sierra? Don’t you care?” Sora yelled. “D-don’t Sora . . . S-s-he has n-no emotions. G-guilt won’t s-s-stop her . . .” “Riku, you need to save your energy, Sora and I can handle her,” Kairi said. “Can you? There’s only two left,” she said. Sierra moved with at the speed of light, and grabbed their Keyblades, and returned to her original spot. “Ha! Like that’s gonna do you any good! Keyblades always go . . .back?” Sora said. Their Keyblades didn’t come back, and Sierra crushed them in her hands. The wind blew the white dust of what used to be Keyblades, out of her hands.

“Now, weren’t you saying you could handle me? How are you going to do that without you precious Keyblades?” Sierra threw two giant spears of dark eco at them, hitting them both in the chest. “Pity. I thought you were capable of a better fight. Oh well, such is the way of a human.” She walked over to where the three of them laid. “D-darkness can never win!” Sora managed to say. Sierra looked down at him and stepped on his chest, right next to the spear, and Sora screamed in pain. “Looks like darkness did win. Your human emotions stop you from killing me. If you can’t kill me, you can’t win.” ‘Human emotions. If I can make her feel at least one emotion, she’ll lose,’ Riku thought. “H-human emotions a-are what makes us willing to fight. Y-y-you were made without them, s-so you can n-never know t-true happiness, or w-what is means to live,” Riku struggled to say. Sierra didn’t turn around, “Your right. I’ll never know what it means to live, because I created dead!” “D-dead?” Kairi said. “Y-you could have a shot at l-living if y-you open yourself t-to emotions,” Riku said. Sierra looked down at ground, as tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it away, “Who said I want to live?” “Y-you could be happier, y-you could be loved b-by f-f-friends. I-i-its b-better that w-way.” A few more tears rolled down the side of her face. “S-see. Y-your feeling s-sad because y-you m-missed out on s-s-so much.” “I can’t take it.” She said, “I’m not supposed to f-feel e-emotions!” She began to cry so hard, that she almost fell. “W-who cares w-what your s-supposed t-to feel? Y-you c-can feel t-the emotions i-if y-you want to.” “Riku . . . I’m . . . sorry,” she said. She turned around and pulled out the needles.

Then a small white light glowed on her sapphire necklace, “You’re the only one who cared about me.” The light became bigger until it completely covered her. “S-sierra?” The light faded away, Sierra was still there, but she was wearing a long white gown, with long sleeves. Her hair was no longer tied up, but waved gently in the wind, between to angel wings. “Sierra,” Riku said. Sierra didn’t say anything, but reached out her hand. Riku took it, and it felt like all the poison was being drained out. He stood up again, “But what about—’’ “Shh. Nothing beats a good illusion.” She smiled at them. “When you asked how I could take a life without hesitating, I thought about that. Then I decided not kill any more. They’ll be fine,” she said. Then she began to fade away. “Wait, don’t go!” He grabbed her hand and pulled her close. “I don’t want to leave me,” he said. “I’m not leaving forever.” “Promise you won’t leave forever?” “Promise. But when we see each other next time, we might not recognize who we are.” Then she disappeared, leaving Riku standing there alone. He gazed up at the stars, where they arranged themselves into a picture of Sierra and him next to each other. “Just remember you promised.”

The End.
