a short look into Squall's life
Tis ironic how their story mirrors that of the tragedies that have enveloped my
life.
The wind gently skirted by, tousing around Squall's hair. It's whispers, to Squall, almost sounded like laughter, cruel laughter, mocking him. Squall clenched his fist in anger ans slammed it onto Ragnarok's roof. Squall, now commander of Balamb Garden, had decided to go out on his own to sort through his emotions.
"Dammit!" he yelled. Why had things gone so wrong?
And how? With all his thoughts, emotions, and questions whirling through his head
he stopped to watch the sun's last rays of light slowly slip into the horizon.
"I wonder if she.. I wonder if she's watchings this too." Squall's emotions
switched from anger to sadness as he sank to his knees. "Is she happy? Is
she free? Is she alone? Does she think about me as much as I think of her. Does
she even remember me? Or was it all a dream? Squall sighed and dropped his head
in his gloved hands as he remembered that dreadful day. Her father had commanded
her to return home. It had been a few years since she had left to start a rebellion
against the Galbadians called the Timber Owls. She told him she was leaving the
day before and where and what time she was leaving. He had the perfect chance
to tell her, but the barrier he had built around himself had not been completely
depleted by their unknown love and he did not react. He merely shrugged and walked
off. All night he had tossed and turned, debating his decision within himself.
The next morning he rushed to the train station, determined to grab her before
she left and tell her how he felt. He arrived at the station and lo "Rinoa..."His
thoughts were brought back to reality and his bepeer went off, telling him the
Ragnarok had received a message. Squall ran his hands through his dark hair.
"What am I doing..." he muttered to himself. He needed to snap out of
this, get over it and accept reality. It was too late. He had chance after chance
and he had blown every single one. He slowly made his way back into the cockpit
and slumped in his chair. Thinking if was probably the Garden he looked to see
who it was from without much interest. His eyes lit up and he leaned forward in
amazement as he saw who it was from. Rinoa. Perhaps fate had given him yet another
chance.
