The nightmares began three nights ago, it had been a long time since I had
nightmares. I thought maybe Ellone was in trouble, so I visited her in Centra.
"There just nightmares Squall, I have nothing to do with them, I am fine."
She said as we sat on the front porch of the rebuilt orphanage. I was raised here
for most of my life, so were my other friends. Irvine, Quistis, Selphie, Zell,
and Seifer. My wife, Rinoa, was a sorceress. I guess if you don't use your powers,
they just, go away. That night I decided to stay with Ellone, as I slept in the
guest room, the same nightmare reoccurred.
"Wh, where am I?" I would ask aloud.
"Well, we're not in Spira, I can tell you that." A voice would call
back.
"Yo, Cloud, where the heck are we!?" A deep voice would say.
"I don't know but this doesn't look like Midgar." Another voice would
answer the deep voice. I would shout, and stumble in the mist, and hear voices,
but I would never find a way out. I woke suddenly, the sunlight of a new day poured
through the window.
"You're back!!" Rinoa yelled as I walk through the door. "Is
Ellone alright?"
"Yeah, she said she didn't know what the dreams were about." I said
as I sat down my suitcase. Rinoa looked up at me with a smile on her beautiful
face.
"I, uh, went to see the doctor today." She said in her sweet, innocent
voice.
"What's wrong??" I said sitting beside her.
"Oh, I was just not feeling that good.and I found out why." Rinoa said
with the biggest grin on her face.
I ran out the door and down the driveway, I was so excited. I yelled and jumped
for joy. Rinoa was going to have a baby!!
"Do you know what it is going to be?" I asked holding her hand.
"No, silly, I am only about a month along." She said laughing. I always
got over excited about everything, but I wasn't always that way. Before I met
Rinoa my life was empty, she brought something new into my life, something I hadn't
had in a long time, love. After the fight with Ultimatica, Rinoa and I got married.
My love for her grows stronger day by day, nothing could take me away from her
or my unborn child, nothing. That night I had no nightmares, just sweet dreams
of me, Rinoa, and my son!!
The next morning I told Rinoa about my dream, she said if it is a boy she hopes
it will be just like me. I called Seifer first, after the fight with Ultimetica,
Seifer and I became very good friends.
"Hello, is this Seifer?" I asked.
"Yes, is this you Squall?" Seifer answered.
"Yeah, um, just wanted to let you know that in a couple of months I might
not be the same person I am now." I said.
"Why do you say that?" Seifer asked.
"Because I am going to be a daddy!!!" I said.
"Wow, that's great, congratulations." Seifer said. "I wish I could
find someone, and have the kind of love that you and Rinoa have."
"You will someday Seifer, you will someday." I told him.
The next seven months or so passed by quickly, Rinoa had about a month left
before the child was do. She went to doctors and came back with tears running
down her face, tears of joy.
"The doctor said that it was going to be a boy!" Rinoa said with her
arms around my neck.
"Alright, Rinoa, did I ever tell you how much I love?" I said looking
at her with a sincere face.
"Yes, you tell me everyday, and show it through your actions." She answered
as she gave me a kiss. Just then there was knock on the door, when I answered
it I saw the whole gang.
"Hope we didn't interrupt anything." Irvine laughed as he and Selphie
walked through the door.
"Mr. and Mrs. Lionheart, I present you with some chocolate, as a gift, it's
from Esthar, the best in the world." Quistis said as she handed Rinoa a box
of chocolate. Last Zell and Seifer came though the door arguing over who was to
say hi first.
"Let me do it Seifer, you always get to do it first." Zell whined.
"Fine, chicken-wuss." Seifer said under his breath.
"Oh, uh, hi Squall, Rinoa." Zell said very pleased.
"Hey Squall, Rinoa." Seifer said.
With everybody there I felt like celebrating, I pulled out a bottle of Balamb's
finest champagne.
"None for me, I've to watch out for two now." Rinoa said. We all sit
there in front of the fire talking about what had happened to each of us after
Ultimetica. Zell was running for mayor of Balamb, and Seifer owned a big fishing
company in Balamb. Irvine and Selphie are going to get married and move to Timber.
Quistis said she was going to continue teaching at Balamb Garden until she was
old enough to retire or she finds Mr. Right.
Since we lived so near to the hotel in Deling City, everyone but Zell(Who had
spent all his money on campaigning), decided to stay the night at the hotel. The
next morning something didn't seem right, I got up and looked out the window,
there was mist everywhere. I went outside to get the paper, but there was no paper
on the porch. Then I saw Irvine, Selphie, Seifer, and Quistis coming up the road.
"Something ain't right." Irvine said as he got out of the car. "I
didn't see any other cars on the road." Suddenly Rinoa called from upstairs.
"Squall, it's time." Rinoa yelled. I ran upstairs and carried her to
the car, I told everyone else just to follow me. I was driving through the mist,
I couldn't see a thing. Then Rinoa yelled in pain.
"Stop, stop the car there's no time." She yelled as she grabbed my arm.
I pulled over and the others did so too. I heard this low rumbling noise coming
from the center of the city, I paid no attention to it, I just concentrated on
my wife and soon-to-be born son.
"What is that bright light rushing towards us!?" Seifer yelled. I turned
to look and everything went black.
