The day was dark…and the sky was angry. Flashes of light blink every second with a furious growl from a far. It was more of a typhoon that day, rather than an ordinary rain shower. The wind blew hard, thunder roared from above and no sign of the sun escaped the thickened clouds ahead, the heavens looked like midnight by the day. But yet, there was something different…something unexplainable about those clouds. And no one can elucidate what…
A luxurious black limo passed as the water splashes its tires. The wiper never rests from working with the rain constantly blurring the window. The scene shifts inside of the car as a girl was leaning on the window and stares outside the great storm with the clouds looking very oddly. She had a cute bonnet cap concealing her eyes and her only visible feature was her pink lips and her golden wavy hair shines as the lightining strikes inside the dark luxurious car. And the driver began to talk from the speaker.
Driver: Maam, your parents left just this afternoon. It seems like an emergency business meeting of some sort.
Girl: ...Thats nothing new.
Driver: .....
The driver did not respond but he knew that girl was sad. The girl just lowered her head and the car arrived just outside a large gate and it drove in a very elegant entrance with pine trees and at the end there's this huge mansion and the car pulled over by its door. The girl got out of the car slowly.
Girl: ...Thanks Pierre.
Pierre: Take care, Maam.
The car drove into the garage and the girl went inside the mansion. As she entered the room she laid her backpack in the corner and slowly took off her bonnet and hanged it over. She brushes her hair softly as she turned around with a very sweet voice.
Girl: Vahn...!?
She called out as she took off her coat and hanged it on the closet by the hook. Her sad eyes shining like the African violet in the chandelier lights. But to no avail no one answered.
Girl: >sigh< ...Empty as usual.
She sigh once again as she walks to their elegant living room. She saw a note swaying at the coffee table and she read it.
The Note says: To Vahn and Vylette, Your father and I will be away again for a special business trip. But dont worry we intend to keep our promise this time for our trip to the Bahamas...please understand us for now. We'll just send your allowances the usual way okay? We love you two very much! Love, Mom and Dad
Vylette: ...Promises... (shakes her head) >sigh<
The phone suddenly rang. She sat on the chair and answered it.
Vylette: Hello?
Vahn: Hey sis how’s it going? Home alone?
Vylette: As always... sometimes I just wish our parents arent the business tycoons that they are so that they can spend more time with us.
Vahn: I know sis. Its just not fair. The richest kids yet as orphan as the beggars in the treets...
Vylette: ...Precisely. >sigh< So, where you at?
Vahn: Just the mall.
Vylette: Still with that Veronica?
Vahn: Yeah…yeah…hey Vi can you check out the Playstation2 in my room, it might get wet from the rain. Please? It’s my life you know?”
Vylette: Hmmm...I don’t know, I’m pretty sleepy…
Vahn: Oh come on Vi… I cant’ live without it…
Vylette: Okay, okay I was just kidding…you owe me big time…
Vahn: Yes! Thanks sis… Dang! his storm's ruining my wax.
Vylette: Car...car...car...is that all you have in mind?
Vahn: Of course, its my lifetime girlfriend! I'll be home soon okay, bye.
Vylette placed the phone down gently and went to her brother’s room. It was untidy as usual, with all his games and blankets on the floor.
Vylette: What a mess!
She was not much into gaming, but did get the hang of it because of her brother. The windows were open, it must’ve been from the wind. Vylette shook her head and raised her eyebrow upon seeing her brothers’ carelessness. She quickly closed it but paused for a while and was quite drawn into the darkened sky.
Vylette: “Strange cloud formations…”
rings of clouds starts to form from the clouds with all the powerful lightning striking down. The light reflects her eyes beautifully, but she was not afraid.
Vylette: “A dimensional distortion perhaps?” Sheesh! “Get real Vylette…”
She then bumped her feet to the controller lying near the window and was quite wet, but the box was okay it got under the blankets. She placed it far from the window and near the TV set, then started to walk out of the room until she heard something fell down. She walked back slowly and picked it up, it was a game that her brother loved very much and she has seen him played it a couple of times.
Vylette: “How did you fell down from there?”
She said frantically, as the thunder truck once more revealing something mysteriously shiny through the cover of the case. She was surprised but did not pay much attention to it, but she did have the feeling of playing the game.
Vylette: Hmm...Final Fantasy 8...good game...one of Vahn's favorite, maybe I'll whirl this one.
As the intro movie began, she noticed that the movie playing was altered. The movie showing on screen was the same as the clouds that she saw outside.
Vylette: Huh? Is this a glitch? Something's not right...those clouds.
She approached the tv set closely, she touched the tv screen and as soon as she did... a strong bolt of lightning struck from the antena through the tv and to Vylette.
Vylette: AHHHHH!!!
She screamed on the top of her voice but then she felt no pain in her body.
Vylette: What is this light? Am’ I dead?
She asked herself…a second later she heard a very villainous and eerie voice.
???: EveRythInG wiLL RetUrn FroM wheRe it BeGan!
And then the white light completely swallowed her…
The room was swathe with the mysterious white light, and by the time it subsided there was no sign of Vylette within the room. The area was in silence…and no trace of where she could have gone. The only witness to the event was Vahn's Playstation2 still running on the TV screen. The view then shifts further into the screen with the same dark clouds from outside, until finally draws closer and closer as if being inside…of the game.

After that, the Final Fantasy VIII title screen appeared. Now we are in the Infirmary of Balamb Garden. Squall woke up.
Dr. Kadowaki: How are you feeling?
Squall: ......Ok.
Dr. Kadowaki: Take it easy next time, you hear? Looks like your eyes are focusing. You should be fine. Say your name for me.
Squall: Squall.
(Squall Leonhart is the main character of the game. He is 17, has short brown hair, a scar on his forehead, black jacket, gloves, white shirt, necklace, black pants and black boots. He uses a gunblade.)
Dr. Kadowaki: Why don't you take it easy in training? Next time you might not be so lucky.
Squall: Tell that to Seifer.
Dr. Kadowaki: That Seifer... Won't listen to anyone. He even left without taking his medications. Why don't you ignore him?
Squall: I can't just run away.
Dr. Kadowaki: You wanna be cool, huh? Well, don't get hurt in the process. Let's see, your instructor is... Quistis. I'll call her now. Just wait here a minute. (calling Quistis) Quistis? Come get your student. Yes, yes. His injury's not serious. It'll probably leave a scar. -...Right. Now please come by.
As soon as Dr. Kadowaki finished talking, a boy with spiked blonde hair with a tattoo on his left cheek came barging in with a girl in his arms. Other students were behind him as well.
Young man: "Doctor! She needs help!"
Dr.Kadowaki: "Okay bring her to the next vacant room. Wait there while I go get my stuff. The others may wait outside please, thank you very much."
Dr. Kadowaki went to her table and got her things, the young man laid the girl on the other room next to Squall.
Squall: "What's all this fuss about..."
He got up from his bed and went to the next room. He just stood by the door.
Dr. Kadowaki: "Hmmm... (examining the girl). Well, worry not young man she's not in danger, she's just stressed. She needs to rest for a while that's all. Is she your girlfriend may I ask?
Young man: "No maam! (scratching his head) We uh-... found her just outside the forest unconcious. We thought she may need some help so I brought her here.
Dr. Kadowaki: "I wonder who she could be...and what happened to her? Well, getting answers at this point is imposible...we'll wait till she wakes up. Oh Im sorry to be rude but what is your name young man?
Zell: "It's Zell maam...Zell Dincht."
Dr. Kadowaki: "Thank you Mr Dincht for being such a hero. Who knows what might have happend to her when she's left outside. She does look very pretty.
Squall: ("This...-girl...I know I've seen her from somewhere before. I- ah cant remember where...what's this....-feeling...")
Squall wondered while standing by the door, his heart pounded like it never did before. Then a woman dressed in green came in but she only peeped from the glass on the other room where Squall was. She looked at the girl on the bed then looked at Squall as well.
Woman: "So you came back, like you promised..."
The woman left quickly, after the door closed as she left. We watch a movie of Quistis coming in to see Squall.
Quistis: I knew it'd be either you or Seifer! Come on, let's go. Today's the field exam. Thank you Dr. Kadowaki for all your help. Oh I see that Mr. Dincht is also here... Squall, he will be one of your companion in this afternoon's exam.
Zell saluted Quistis and then offered his hand for a handshake with Squall. But Squall did not say anything and just noded his head. Quistis just giggled and the girl on the bed caught her eye.
Quistis: "So you have many patients today Doctor, who is she... a new girl?"
Dr. Kadowaki: "Actually no, Mr. Dincht and his group found her in the forest."
Quistis: "That's very heroic Zell, the Seed can use a man such as you...See you later, give my thanks to the others as well. Good luck in the ex--"
She was then distracted by the girl who was starting to wake up. No one moved a muscle, no one in that room breathed as she seemed like a Goddess...waking up from a thousand years of slumber.
Girl: "Uhnn...ah...---"
Zell: "She's....so pretty..."
Quistis: "Shhh...you'll break the magic."
Squall: ("She's...-uh waking up.")
Refusing to admit that he himself is amazed by the beauty of her face.The girl began to wake up and slowly opened her eyes, she was blinded by the lights at first and shut her eyes tight. After a few seconds, she opened them again. At first all she saw were the ceiling of the infirmary, then she pulled herslf up sitting on the bed and tried examine the room she was in. She then opened her eyes completely and the most angelic voice was heard as she began to speak.
Girl: "Where...am'I?"
Her eyes were like none of them has ever seen in their lifetime. Her soft golden brown hair fall down on her shoulders. Her lips shames the red rose, and her eyes oh her eyes were extraordinary. It was as violet as the tulips yet surrounded by a higlight of sunset around her iris. Looking at it takes you to a place of serenity in sunset. Everyone was speechless in the room as she spoke but Dr. Kadowaki broke the silence.
Dr. Kadowaki: "Why hello dear, your in Balamb Garden infirmary. One of our students found you unconcious outside and so you were brought here."
Girl: "Balamb...? ...Garden? I'm here?!! ...but---why? what am'I doing here?!"
The girl mummbled in confusion, holding her head. Then she looked at the people around her which made her more confused.
Girl: "You...all of you...I-- (my goodness I'm inside the game! what the heck is going on? And how can I go home...? ")
Dr. Kadowaki: "Miss...are you all right? Perhaps you need more rest."
Girl: "N-No... I'm fine...Im j-just...a bit confused."
The girl got out of the bed and stood up, she was wearing a pretty white dress. The three were still standing there quietly.
Dr. Kadowaki: "Well, since you seem well can you recall your name and where you are from? So that we may take you home."
Vylette: "I-- uhh Vylette...- ("They'll only think I'm crazy if I tell the truth!") "Well you know, I really cant remember much, everything seems to be blurry..." ("I cant believe Im actually here! The blonde is Quistis, then thats Zell, and hm? he's...Squall...---")
Dr. Kadowaki: A slight concussion might have happened, dont worry dear...you'll be able to recall your memories in no time.
She thought while she was looking at the characters she once saw her brother Vahn played. The doctor noded in understanding that she might have an amnesia.
Dr. Kadowaki: And a very nice name indeed, fits you just right Ms. Vylette... judging from the color of your eyes. Your eye color is of the rarest kind!
Vylette: Thank you.
Quistis: I think you may need some more rest miss, and we should be going now. Sorry to be of bother to you I'am Instructor Quistis Trepe and these are Zell and Squall...Zell and his group were the one's who brought you here.
Vylette: "I know---I mean, I would like to thank you Zell for bringing me here. (Whew! almost blew my cover...")
Zell: I uhh...well, just doing..my job. (blushing)
And her smile was one of the sweetest they have ever seen. Zell couldnt even talk straight and Squall was just stunned, just as Vylette looked at him he quickly looked away and felt a lump in his throat.
Quistis: Let's go you two...and stop daydreamin'!
Vylette: Bye... (This is unbelievable!...)
Squall: ...(just noded his head)
Dr. Kadowaki: And oh Squall, please come over after your class with Seifer and get your medications kay?
Squall: ... (just nodded)
She waved goodbye and smiled at them. Zell went on ahead, While Squall and Quistis is on their way to the classroom...
Quistis: Squall. Is there something on your mind?
Squall: ...Not really.
Quistis: ...Not really. Hahaha! Are you thinking of that girl from the infirmary. Wasnt she just magical? What do you think?"
Squall: And what's so funny?
Quistis: Funny? No, no, it's not that! I just realized that you can also gasp and sigh seing a girl that cute. I feel like I'm beginning to understand my student a little. That's all.
Squall: ...I'm more complex than you think.
Quistis: Then tell me. Tell me more about yourself.
Squall: It's none of your...
Quistis: ...Business!
Squall: Whatever...
Quistis walks ahead of Squall then Squall thought of something...
Squall: ("Magical huh....")
We watch a movie of the view of Balamb Garden. Later in the study hall...
Quistis: Good morning, class. Let's start with today's schedule. There seem to have been some rumors flying around since yesterday... Yes, the field exam for SeeD candidates will begin later this afternoon. Those not participating and those who failed last week's written test are to remain here in study hall. Field exam participants will have free time until the exam. Just be sure you're in top condition. Meet in hall at 1600 hours. I'll announce the team assignments there. Any questions? (to Seifer) Oh, and Seifer! Do NOT injure your partner while training. Be careful from now on.
Seifer threw a fit.
Quistis: Field exam participants, I will see you all later. (to Squall) And Squall, I need to talk to you.
Squall talks to Quistis.
Quistis: You haven't been to the [Fire Cavern] yet have you? You won't be able to take part in today's SeeD exam if you don't pass this prerequisite.
Squall: ... (...I was gonna go this morning, but Seifer...)
Quistis: Hm? Do you have a good excuse?
Squall: ...Not really.
Quistis: Then let's get going. If you're not too confident yet, you can review your studies at the [study panel]. I'll be waiting at the [front gate], so come down when you're ready. You can access the [study panel] from [your seat].
Quistis left. Squall goes to his study seat and gets two Guardian Forces Quezacotl and Shiva.
Squall: I guess I'll be needin' you guys again...
Squall gets out, then...
Selphie: I'm late, I'm late, I'm LATE!!! (bumped into Squall) Waaah!
Squall: Are you ok?
Selphie: There. Tee-hee, I'm fine. Sorry I was kinda in a hurry. Oh yeah! Hey, did you just come from that class? Is...... homeroom over?
Squall nodded "yes".
Selphie: Woo...Oh, nooo... This place is soooo much bigger than my last Garden! Oh, hey, hey. I just transferred here. Do you think you could give me a tour of this Garden?
Squall: Don't have the time.
Selphie: Oh, bummer. That's too bad. Well, see ya.
The scene switches back to the Infirmary with the girl. She was sitting on the bed while the Doctor was talking on the phone.
Dr. Kadowaki: "(Talking to Cid) Yes sir, I will...okay bye. I've spoken to Headmaster Cid, he told me to keep you under low profile for the mean time. He also said that you can stay here until you can recall your lost memories...So, this is the Balamb uniform, wear this so that you wont seem so weird from the students, but I guess it wont work since you look really pretty. hehehe"
Vylette: "Thank you for all your help."
Dr. Kadowaki: "Its okay, its all we can do...now go on dear, go change up in the bathroom."
The scene goes back to Squall as he came out of the elevator. He felt to stroll a bit and went to the Cafeteria where the hot-dogs are famous as it is delicious. In here he saw Seifer along with his two friend Raijin and Fujin. Fujin is the girl with silver hair and an eyepatch while the man with big musculin body is Raijin. Fujin got a soda from the machine and gave it to Seifer.
Fujin: "DRINK..."
Raijin: "Hey Squall! Want a soda? Fujin is treating us!"
Fujin approached her brother and kicked his ankle.
Fujin: "SILENCE..."
Seifer: "...You know I wont apologize to you..."
Squall: "...I dont care. But Dr. Kadowaki asked us to pass by today to take our medications."
Seifer: "No can do...Im waiting for someone here. And I dont need medications. Oh, here comes my man!"
Zell came in running and went straight to the lady.
Zell: "Hufff-pufff....hey---do you have any hot-dogs left?"
Lady: "Sorry kid but thats all for the day. I'll try to order more next time kay."
Zell: "Uh man! Im too late again..."
Squall: ... ("Zell?")
Seifer: "Hey you! Chicken wuss!"
Zell: "Dont call me that! What do you want...?!"
Seifer: "I heard that you were spreading the news in the entire garden that you and your puny group rescued damsel in distress in the forest."
Zell: "Yeah, we did. So what?"
Seifer: "Is she pretty?"
Zell: "Well, she is...especially her eyes! Wow!
Squall: "Zell...I suggest that you keep quiet for a while."
Zell: "Oh...right. Sorry."
Squall stopped Zell before he could say too much. But Seifer was not very happy with what he did.
Seifer: "So...Squall wants her for himself. I'll just make sure I make her mine first Squally-boy. (switches back to Zell) And where is she now?"
Zell: "She's probably still in the infirmary...i guess."
Seifer: "I see, thanks for the info wuss'."
Zell: Tch! Such an ASSHole!..."
Seifer: "Well...I guess Im ready to go with you Squall. (talks to Fujin) You two stay here while I check her out, I'll be back...Let's go then."
Squall: "...Whatever...."
While making their way in the infirmary. Squall was walking behind Seifer and he felt a small pinch in his heart. Just then the scene switches to Vylette when she was changing into her uniform in the bathroom. After changing, she picked up the clothes she wore then a small ting-ling sound echoed as a small ring fell off the pocket. She bent down and picked it up.
Vylette: "Huh? A ring? Who could this belong to? I didnt recall having a ring...there's something carved here, "PROMISE". Just as soon as she read the writing on the ring, the same white light began to engulf her once more. Then she opened her eyes and saw herself in a field of yellow lilies. A familiar voice began to speak to her.
Voice: "...At long last, you've returned."
Vylette: "Returned? What do you mean? Why amI here...can you tell me?"
Vylette cant see who was speaking to her. She turns around continously as if searching. She walks around a bit, then the voice answered.
Voice: "Let us go back in time first to refresh your memories." The white light once again swallowed her then she was taken in front of a small stone house, it was raining angrily. It was more of a view of the past with the answers she seek.
Vylette: "This night...was just like the rain last night..."
Voice: Yes...that was the portal connection needed for you to reach this world.
Vylette: >Gasp!< ...!...
And so...Vylette remembered everything. A short scene was focused into her eyes as she began to remember a bit of what trully happened to her. It was shown that she first arrived in Winmill, a shadow of a kid was shown and then she was brought in a house. Another woman was giving birth as she woke up from all the screaming.
Woman: "Where is he?! Why isnt he here!"
Old woman: "Come on Raine...you're in labor forget about him a while..."
After that the woman gave birth, a cry of the infant was heard and everyone was happy to see that the child was okay. But Raine wasnt she was tired from labor.
Raine: "I'll name you...Squall. A baby born out of the angriness of the clouds."
Then the woman went to sleep. Vylette stood by the door amazed, confused and clueless why she is there. A place she knew she's not suppose to be in. But she learned to cope up in this small peacefull town. Raine was always sad. Always waiting for somebody, day by day they became good friends. VYlette looks out to her as an older sister, everyone thought they were since Vylette did look quite like Raine very much. Vylette began to speak as she see's herself in the past.
Vylette: "I recall now. As days passed by...Raine became weak. She got sick then died. She asked me to always protect her son, and also a little girl Elone when I see her. And to tell the man that she loves most, the one she has been waiting for till her last breath that... she forgives him...
Vylette squeezed her fist as the tears start to fall from her cheeks. The view suddenly chANGED into a funeral, she saw herself there carrying the baby in her arms.
Vylette: (the one in the view) "I promised Raine I'll take care of you... (she looked at the sleeping baby) "I wont let anything happen to you..."
Vylette: (the one watching) "I promise...I wont." [as she wipes off her tears] You havent answered my queston...why amI here?
Voice: ...Only time has the answer to the questions that you ask. And only it...can heal the wounds of the past.
The scene once again blacks out and another is shown. Now it was her talking to a man with blue jacket. The man was crying on his knees as if he already knew what had happened to his wife...and Vylette was standing beside him. Then he spoke... wiping off his tears.
Man: "Take the baby and the girl away from this place!...take them to an orphanage by the lighthouse. The Esthar is searching for Elone, the sorceress of that country is trying to use her power for her evil plans! Hurry leave now!"
Vylette: "But what about you?!"
Man: "I'll try to hold them off here while you escape. Please...take care of these two, they're all I have left now... And you be carefull too, you look so much like her you know?"
Vylette: "...-Her last words were that she forgives you. I just thought you might want to know that at least."
Man: .....
The man did not turn around as his tears seems to never stop falling. That stormy night once more, Vylette ran to the the seemingly endless plane. But she safely reach the stone house.
Vylette: "Yes...I've been there for five years. And not a year did I age and I told Matron about me yet she kept quiet...I loved the children here so much, but I had to leave. It was not really Elone SHE was after, the child was just secondary to her plans, then SHE found me didnt she..."
Voice: ...The Sorceress...you know of her dont you...?
The scene fades out in-front of the stone house with a blue car and soldiers in blue uniforms were outside the orpahnage. The children were all screaming and crying. As well as Matron, a woman dressed in black with long hair.
Children: "No...dont take her...please!"
Matron: "Please...dont take her to the Sorceress! Cid do something" [she pleaded]
Cid: "Caraway, you know what'll happen to her when you take her to the sorceress?!"
Lt. Caraway: "You must understand, the Sorceress Adel will conduct an all out WAR if the girl she describes with extraordinary eyes is not brought to her. You know Esthar's technology is way advanced from ours. One bomb from them means the end of all these children, we have no choice but to take her. Im sorry..."
Vylette: "I'll go with you...I'd rather be in her hands than see this special place in ruins. Dont worry Matron, Im sure we'll see each other someday. You know that dont you? And Thank you, for taking care of me...you're the best parents any kid could ever have. I know you are...
Children: "Nooo..."
Vylette: "Please understand...the sorceress will destroy this place if I wont go with them. This is our 'fantasy' and I cant let anybody take it away from us."
She tries to hide her pain with a smile but the tears just wont stop as she spoke to the children, and then one of them with yellow t-shirt approached her.
Boy: "Vi, Here...I made this for you, I got it from Matron and carved our magic word...[sob] "Promise"... you said that if we promise with all your heart...you'll trully fullfill it. >sob< ...Promise us you'll comeback."
Through all her tears she hugged the boy ever so tender.
Vylette: "Oh Squall...I---I...[she was not sure that if she made one, she may not be able to keep it. but she still did.] I promise...I promise. Now, be a good boy always dont go look for me okay coz I'll find you...I'll come back."
She told the boy named Squall she looked at him in the eyes. She also spoke to the others where she was kneeling. And gave each one a hug.
Vylette: "Seif, dont quarrel with Squall and Zell okay...Quisty, I know you can take care of everyone, help Sis... Irvy, you will be my little-keeper... Selphie, dont loose the sunshine in you...and my little Zell, dont cry too much. Squall, be strong dont forget that they'll always be there for you. You dont have to be alone... Sis. please take care of everyone, Im counting on you..."
Then she gave them all a big hug in the group and Lt Caraway took her away in the car. >From the car she did not look back, but yet her heart aches from from the cries of the children. When they reached Esthar, she was terrified on the sight of the Sorceress Adel. Just as she was about the approach Vylette, she screamed and a white light engulfed once more. And that light came from the ring that Squall had given her. Then Vylette came back to the scene of yellow lilies.
Vylette: "So thats what happened to me...this ring saved me."
Voice: "Yes...that ring has special powers in it. The boy Squall took it from my jewelry box that I did not know of until that day. Its powers were still hidden until you needed its help. My prayers and the childrens' reached the core of power of that ring and it saved you from the Sorceress and brought you here. In this era where you might be greatfuly needed."
Vylette: "I see...I'll keep my promise to everyone. But they have forgotten about me already. Didnt they...Matron."
The scene goes back into the bathroom.
Voice: "Yes they already have...but do not worry they will remember. Iam happy that you still remember me, but dont take your hopes up. As you know you do not belong here, one day you will leave again. And you might not come back ever again. So please, distance yourself from the children...they suffered so much from your disappearance Im sure you do not intend that to happen again. You know very well that the Matron you know of is gone, its now Sorceress Edea. The Sorceress who will be after you, so be careful my child.
Vylette: "...I know."
Voice: "I will leave you for now, but I will always be watching over you."
Vylette was stunned and sat down the bathtub for a while, then began to cry once more with her hands on her face. Maybe from all the shock and facts that she found out and the memories she gained back. The scene goes back to where Seifer and Squall were walking, when Squall suddenly stopped.
Squall: ["What was that all about? It felt different...the same thing I felt when I saw that girl Vylette in the infirmary..."] (holding his chest)
Seifer: "Hey man? You okay?"
Squall: "Uhh, yeah...lets go."
As they reach the infirmary, Seifer wasted no time to pull of his so called charms.

But his eyes were all around the infirmary as if looking for something while Squall quietly stands behind him.
Dr Kadowaki: "I know what you want Seifer...I wouldnt think that you'll agree to come back if it only be for the medications hmm?"
Seifer: "Oh please, I really meant to come back. I even reminded Squall about it. Right bud?" (giving Squall a look)
Squall: "...whatever"
Just then the door of the bathroom opened and Vylette came out looking very pretty wearing her Garden uniform. All tears of sadness were wiped off, but now seeing Squall and Seifer all grown up makes her want to shed some tears of joy. But she needs to hold it off and act cool.
Vylette: "Oh! We have visitors... good morning. Hello again Squall, came to take your medications?"
Squall: "Yeah"
Seifer: "Hi there miss...heard you were the new student. Yup! it was true then. You look very beautiful in your uniform, welcome to Balamb Garden. (he then bows to her)Iam Seifer Almasy, Captain of the Diciplinary Commitee. nice to meet you."

Squall: "Doctor can we have our medications now, I still have test..."

Dr Kadowaki: "oh yes, of course...and Vylette still needs to meet the Headmaster Cid. Here are your medications, take them before going to bed."

Quistis Trepe is 18 years old, has her hair wrapped with a hair clip, gloves, pink shirt, pink skirt and boots. She uses a chain whip. In the cave...

They meet the Balamb guards near the cave.

As they continue to move on...

Squall kept quiet, but he knew that it was true. Seifer would stop at nothing to keep her away from any guy, especially him. Since childhood Seifer and Squall has been rivals in everything. Even when they were small they were already fighting for Vylette, what more now that they're all grown up tthey were still fighting for the same girl.Later as Squall and Quistis reach their destination...

The scene once again cuts, and taken to Headmasters Cid office on the top floor. Vylette was nervous and excited, it was a mixed feeling. Then the door of the elevatir opened, she stepped out cautiously. She then saw a chubby man standing by the window looking outside, he had brown pants and red with white sleeve. The mand turned around, looked at her and smiled. Then he stretched out his arms and signed for Vylette to come and hug him...Vylette jumped to him and they both hugged with tears of joy.
Cid: "Im so happy to see you again..."
Vylette: "Me too Dee... me too..."
From the past, 12 years ago Vylette always calls Cid-Dee and Matron Mie. She treated them as her parents, and for the couple she was like their own.
Cid: You came back...
Vylette: Like I promised...
Cid: I can see that you still look the same, suits you just fine. As for me I have been old enough to be your granpa! Im even heavy on the middle, I did miss your cookies...
Vylette: Tee-hee...so you did! No, you look perfectly fine.
And the scene fades out as the two of them talked happily with big smiles on on their faces. They talked about all the memories they had, and since Vylette cant quite remember a lot Cid was there to help her recall. Going back at the Fire Cavern, Squall and Quistis gets closer and...
Quistis: Ok, this is it. Are you ready? You seem confident enough.
Squall and Quistis fights Ifrit. After Squall and Quistis wins the fight...
Ifrit: For me to lose to a human... Very well, I will join you. One last thing...mankind is at its peak as the Destroyer arrives.
The beast disappeared leaving the two clueless.

Quistis: Well done. Let's see... I thought there was something else I needed to go over with you before you take the SeeD exam... Oh yes! Taking care of your GF.
Quistis: Now change into your uniform and assemble at the [1F Lobby].
After Squall changes to his uniform, he first went first to the Quad. It was almost sunset and he wanted to catch a glipmse of the beautiful sleepy sun, but nothing could have prepared him for what more beauty awaits him there...
Squall: ["Maybe I'll go check out the sunset...its most peaceful at this time."]
As he was entering the Quad, he saw Vylette enter first. Then he quietly followed her by a balcony. She stood there marring the surface of the sea which became like an ocean of fire. With the breeze picking up blowing her hair slightly, she closed her eyes and listened to the waves as they sing for her return. Then she hum a familiar tune which gave Squall a ring in his ears.
Squall: ["That...-tune, I heard it before...but I cant recall where."]
Afetr humming a bit she opened her eyes and spoke...
Vylette: "You never changed...Im glad. It still feels like home..." ["tonight's the ball, too bad Seifer wouldnt pass. Will I go? But I might alter things up than usual...I dont know, I really want to dance"]
She smiled gently as she watched the sunset she loved so much adoring it especially when she was in the orphanage.
Squall: "Its...beautiful...Her eyes are like the burning sunset."
He cant even make out his mind if what he meant for was the sunset, or the girl who shared that beautiful moment with him. He then left first thinking that if he had stayed he may be nailed down on that spot as he gets lost everytime he looks at her. He left without letting her know his presence.
Squall: "she deserves it more than I do..."
He said pausing a while, He went on and meets Quistis at the lobby.

After reaching the shore while they were chased by the machine, we watch a movie of Quistis firing the gun from the assault boat and the X-ATM092 is destroyed and that the whole crew got on the assault boat. Later back at Balamb...

Seifer, Raijin and Fujin left.
Quistis: Good job! Where's Seifer? Just be back at Garden by sundown. You're free 'til then. Ok, dismissed!
Later the car drove off.
Zell: H-Hey!!! Not again, man! Mr. Ego drove away with our ride...
Squall: Might as well walk it.
After walking back to Balamb Garden...
Zell: (yawning) Huuuwahaah! Finally made it back...
Selphie: Seriously...
Zell: Well, I guess we just wait for the test results. 'Til then. See ya, Squall.
Selphie: (to Squall) See ya!
Squall goes into the hall and there he listens to Xu, Quistis and Headmaster Cid.
Xu: Mission complete! I think we did a pretty good job. The candidates are back safely, right? Although we didn't realize the Galbadian Army was after the abandoned communication tower...
Headmaster Cid: We've just received word from the Dollet Dukedom. The Galbadian Army has agreed to withdraw as long as the communication tower is repaired and the uplink remains operational.
Xu: Well, in any case, Galbadia is out of there. We could've made more money if they'd stayed and caused more ruckus.
Just then Dr Kadowaki came talked to the Headmaster.

The scene cuts and goest to the right side of the garden where Squall talks to Seifer.
Seifer: D'you hear about the communication tower in Dollet? We would've been heroes if it weren't for that withdraw order.
Quistis and Xu arrived.
Quistis: You were only looking for a fight.
Seifer: My dear instructor. I'm hurt. Those are rather cruel words for an aspiring student. A mediocre instructor like you will never understand.

All the other students were disappointed for that. Meanwhile in Headmaster Cid's office...

Squall talks to Cid and after that, Squall goes to the 2nd floor and upon arrival, everyone gave Squall's group an applause. Even Seifer, Raijin and Fujin was there. Squall stayed for a while listening to the others hurrays!
Zell: Im a Seed! Im a Seed!
When all students went down, he then saw HeadmasterCid, Dr Kadowaki and Seifer talking just by the lobby.
Cid: Im sad to say that you did not pass Mr Almasy...you do have potential. But because of that I have a special assignment for you that would fit you well.
Seifer: What is it sir?
Cid: I know you are aware of the new girl in the garden, and you probably even met her. I would like to ask you to be Vylette's bodyguard for a while if its okay with you... and wouldnt take much of your time that is?
Seifer: Me! Vylette's BODYGUARD! Oh man! Its an honor SIR!
Squall was shocked. But he just kept listening.
Squall: ["Of all people...why did it have to be Seifer..."]
But it wasnt really on his mind, the truth was he was questioning WHY WASNT IT ME?
Cid: You seem pretty happy...I expect that you'll take care of her, especially tonight you know. And she's like a daughter to me.
Dr Kadowaki: You go rest and pamper yourself a bit then wait outside the infirmary. When the its time for the dance.
Seifer: Yes Maam!
Squall couldnt listen no more, so he left. With a sad look on his face. He did pass as a Seed but why does he feel that Seifer was luckier than he.
Squall: ... (What a lucky guy...)
After that, he return to the dormitory.
Selphie: HAH! Found you! Well, well!? What do you think!? My SeeD uniform! Uhm Squall can ask you a favor?
Squall: What is it?
Selphie: Well its about the new girl...I would really like to meet her and ask if maybe she wants to join the Festival commitee. Im sure many will join if she does, could you? PLEASE...you know her dont you?
Squall: Uh...yeah I'll try. [If I can get to her without going through Seifer.]
Selphie Yipeee!!! I asked you too because Zell might screw it up.
Squall changes to his SeeD uniform. Then he talks to Selphie...

Meanwhile in the Garden Festival, Squall is alone and gets a glass of wine from the waitress.
Zell: Yo! S'up, Squall? Heh-heh, I guess we're both SeeDs now, huh? Put it there, man. Hah, even as a SeeD, you're still the same. Well, that's typical of you. See ya. I wonder where Vylette is?
Squall paid no attention to Zell because his mind was still wondering on the open space and yet refuses to admit that he is excited to see Vylette too that night.Zell left.
Squall: .........
Selphie: Oh...hey, Zell. Wanna join the Garden Festival committee and...
Zell: Sorry, I...ahh... Just remembered something! G-Gotta go. See ya!
Selphie: Hmmmm... Squall! Have you seen her already? Everyone's talking about her, they cant wait to see how she looks!
Squall: .........
Selphie: Lost in space... S'cuse me! You, right there!
Selphie left. We watch a movie of Squall seeing a woman he doesn't know.
Girl: You're the best guy here. Dance with me? Let me guess... You'll only dance with someone you like. Ok then... Look into my eyes... You're- going-to-like-me... You're-going-to-like-me... Did it work?
Squall: ...I can't dance.
Girl: You'll be fine. Come on. I'm looking for someone. I can't be on the dance floor alone.
We watch a movie of Squall being forced to dance with that woman. But before they can further dance, the music stopped. Everyone was puzzled, then the large double door flung open. Seifer then came in first and then stretched his arms out the door, and another hand reaches his. It was Vylette, taking each step shyly.
Vylette: ...I feel so nervous... everyone's looking at me...
Seifer: Well they should be.
Yet time seem to stop at the ball as she continue to walk the carpet. She was wearing a simple yet radiant cocktail dress woven in white silk. Everyone's mouth were open as if their jaw dropped and forgot to pick it up. And all have comments of their own.
Boy1: Damn it! He's sooo lucky!
Boy2: Some guys have everything...
Zell: Oh no... not Seifer!
But the girls think different.
Girl1: They look good together.
Girl2: The story was true she really is beautiful.
Selphie: So thats her...wow! She's a must have in my commitee.
And Headmaster Cid and Dr Kadowaki were quite happy with the result. But not everyone was happy with what they see. Especially the girl with Squall.
Squall: ... [There goes Mr Ego...]
Girl: That Seifer! Thats why he's late! I'll get him for this.
Squall: You know him?
Girl: Yeah we were suppose to meet here an hour ago. Lets go.
The girl once again dragged Squall along approaching Seifer and Vylette.
Seifer: May I have the first dance for the night Vylette?
Vylette: Of course!
Ever so proud to be her escort at that perfect show off time.But just as about they were going to dance, the girl tapped Seifer by his shoulders.
Seifer: Go away! Cant you wait for your turn?...Oh! Rinoa, you're here!?
Rinoa: Yeah, like an hour ago! You said you'll introduce me to HIM.
Vylette: ["Rinoa..."] Ahem. Your girlfriend?
Seifer: Ah---uhh, I can explain...(switching to Rinoa) Look, I have to be her bodyguard! Its my job!
Vylette: No its okay, I'll be fine, really. I know you have something important up in your sleeves.
Rinoa: Thank you miss. See...even she agrees with me.
Seifer: But...but..b-bbut...
Rinoa: No butts! This is an important matter! Lets go! Let this guy take care of her...
She pulls Squall and took him by Vylettes side. She smiles.
Vylette: Hi.
Squall: Uh...hey.
He was so embarrassed to even look at her straight.
Seifer: Oh no...not him! Anyone but him...! -Hey Squall I'll be back you hear!
Seifer shouted out as Rinoa pulls him away from the victory he could have got.
Squall: .......
Vylette: Bye-bye...well, I guess we should sit down. Seems like dancin's not your thing, right?. So-...
But just before she could finish what she's saying...
Squall: So...this is the dancefloor, lets dance?
Vylette: huh?
She looked puzzled, she never thought he'd actually ask her. But she was happy.
Vylette: Sure...
They took their position and Cid signaled for the Meastro to once again start the music. It was magical, the two of them looked good. Squall was so nervous that he had the steps mixed up. And even stepped on her foot.
Vylette: Ouh! Te-hee, Its okay...
Squall: Sorry...Im quite nervous, everyones watching.
Vylette: Dont worry...-
As he pulled her closer she softly whispered to him.
Vylette: ...I wont leave you alone.
Squall: ..... (blushes)
They looked deeply into each others eyes, then she smiled shyly and the next part of the dance Squall was not having trouble anymore as all he does was look at Vylette. And veryone stopped dancing just to watch the two of them. The students were all jealous, especially Seifer who was just watching from the corner while Rinoa was talking to the Headmaster.
Seifer: ["Squall...I will never forget this night..."]
After the magnificent dance, the lights went out and the fireworks began. With their glass roof, the stars were bright and the skies were colorful as the fireworks burst into colors one by one. But nothng can be more beautiful than to watch the fireorks through Vylettes eyes, and only Squall was able to witness such magic when he looked at her that time...
Vylette: Fireworks! They're so pretty.
Squall: ...Beautiful... (but he was loking at Vylette instead)
Vylette: They are arent they? (caught Squall looking deeply at her) ...Squall? Is something wrong? Squall just shyly shook his head. Contented to leave it just that.
Announcer: This fireworks dispaly is for our very special guest, Ms. Vylette. A welcoming gift from all of us in Balamb Garden. As well as for those who passed the Seed exams. Congratulations!
Everyone clapped their hands.
Vylette: Thank you! Thank you all very much!
After that, the lights turned on again.
Vylette: How bout we go over there on that balcony.
Squall: Okay.
As they went there Vylette closed her eyes and felt the soft wind on her face. And she smile's gently as if she understands the message the wind was telling her. But the news was not good as she had a flash of realization hit her.
Vylette: Oh no!...I...-I ahh...
Squall: You okay?
Vylette: ... ["This night was meant for them, this night wasnt for me... I completely overlooked that it should be Rinoa and Squall's dance. It was the cue...for both of them. And I ruined it...what'll happen now?"]
Vylette looked at him genlty yet unsure. But she just smiled.
Vylette: Nothing...just, well remembered something bad.
Squall: Memories huh...dont worry they'll fade away.
Vylette: I see that you are not fond of them.
Squall: All they bring back are pain...so might as well go away.
Vylette: .......["Was that all I did to you Squall? bring pain... I never really meant to hurt you guys...] Its just- (she whispered)
Squall: Hm?
Later on Selphie found the two of them and shouted out.
Selphie: There you are Squall! Perfect timing!
Squall: Oh...right, Vylette I would like you to meet Se-...
Selphie: HI! Im Selphie, I organize the garden commitee for the festival and I would like to invite you to join us. ...Please?
Vylette: Uh okay...sounds fun!
Selphie: Hoooray!!! Ooops sorry...Im so happy! I'll get going, Im going to tell the others. See ya! Thanks Squall!
Vylette: Selphie...cheerful as always.
Squall: You know her?
Vylette: Not really, its quite obvious.
As Selphie left she met Seifer anxiously looking for Vylette.
Seifer: Hey you there! Have you seen Vylette?
Selphie: I have a name, its SELPHIE!
Seifer: Yeah whatever...did you or did you not?
Selphie: Ooohh She's by the bacony... with Squall. (sounding sacastically)
Selphie walked away and Seifer went to the balcony.
Seifer: So Squall...trying to keep my date to yourself?
Squall: .....
Vylette: No, Im the one who wanted to go here... so, where's your girlfriend?
Seifer: She's not my girlfriend, let's just say...an old friend. I think we've been, ripped off... shall we continue?
Vylette: The dance? right... (turns to Squall) Thank for that wonderful dance Squall and congratulations. By the way, you look good in your uniform... you were...-magical. te-hee See ya!
Squall: Thanks, anytime...["no, you were Vylette..."]
Seifer: I dont think we would...Seed are always out on missions, they dont usually stay in the garden once they pass.
Vylette: Oh...is that so? Well good luck on your missions. (Maybe its not yet too late. Squall will leave and be together with Rinoa...then -well they can still end up together.)
Seifer: ...Take your time Squall. Congratulations. (gave Squall the look when they left)
With a heavy heart, Squall watch Seifer take away Vylette. Then Quistis came.
Quistis: You really are an excellent student. Even that dance was perfect.
Squall: Thanks. (waiting for Quistis to talk) Yes?
Quistis: So you'll dance with someone you don't even know, but you can't stand being around me?
Squall: ...Whatever. You're an instructor, and I'm your student. It's kind of awkward when you don't say anything.
Quistis: That's true. I was like that myself. ...Oh, I completely forgot. I wonder what's to become of me? I've come to give you an order. You and I are to go to the 'secret area'. It's where students secretly meet up and talk after curfew. It's inside the [training center].
Squall: What do you want to do there? Are we going there to tell everyone they're violating curfew? If that's the case, forget it. Leave that for the disciplinary committee.
Quistis: Go get changed and meet me in front of the [training center]. This will be my last order.
Squall: (Get changed and meet at the training center? What's this all about...?)
Just after that, the two of them heard noises coming from the ball. It sounded like Seifer was in some kind of trouble.
Seifer: Hey back off! Dont push it senior punk!
Senior1: Dont take all the glory Almasy!
Senior2: Yeah its our turn!
Vylette: Everybody! Please!
Boy3: Ms. Vylette! Dance with me!
Seifer: Oh no you dont!
Seifer gave the guy a punch on the face and everyone just started to rumble... Squall remembered that Vylette was still there he immidiately rushed into the scene.
Squall: ...Oh no! She's in trouble!"
Quistis: Squall! Go help her!
In the fighting crown he saw Zell trying to control the huge crowd.
Squall: Zell! Vylette's -!
Zell: I know...she's in the middle we cant reach her like this....
Squall: Come here, I have an idea...help me up.
Squall stepped on the student's heads as they were very busy fighting each other they did not even notice him walking on them. He went closer and closer, then he finally reached Vylette, looking confused and scared.'
Vylette: Squall!
Squall: Hurry Lets go!
But as she held Squall's hands the ring fell off her finger. The was not a perfect fit and usually falls off her beautiful small hands.
Vylette: Shoot! Wait my ring!
Squall: Forget it...its just a ring.
Vylette: No...I wont! ["you gave it to me..."]
She let go of Squall's hands and reached her ring just in time before a guy fell uncncious on the floor. Then Squall came back to her and got her hands.
Squall: Now come on!
He carried Vylette in his arms and he used the beaten up boys as ladders and once again walked on them. Seifer cant do anything but watch as he himself is stuck amongst the rumble which he started. Vylette and Squall got outside safely without a scracth. They were both still catching their breaths from the ordeal. Squall leaned on the wall and looked at her as she still closes her eyes.
Squall: ...Vylette...we're already out.
Vylette: We are? Im afraid to open my eyes...
Squall: Dont worry no one's here.
She opened her eyes slowly but did not realize that she had her arms around Squall's neck, their faces close to each other and so they meet eye to eye.
Vylette: ...blue...just like-...
They both paused for a while then she realized that they were too close and she got embarassed and went down.
Vylette: ...sorry. Squall: .......
Vylette: Whew! What a night!
Vylette took the ring out of her hand and wore it on her finger again.
Squall: Whats with the ring?
Vylette: Oh this...well someone gave it to me. Someone special.
Squall: Oh (looked disapointed) ...Was the ring worth risking your life?
Vylette: Yes...it did saved mine once. (she leaned by the wall with Squall)
Squall: What do you want to do now?
Vylette: Let me see...go back and dance?
Squall: ...Want to start another riot?
Vylette: Just kidding! You should see your face. I think I'll call it a night. How bout you? Still want to boogie?
Squall: ...no, I still have an order. But I'll walk you to your room.
Vylette: yeah... thanks. (His eyes were just like hers...)
Later as they reached her dormitory room. The scene was shown through the outer part of the dorm out the benches.
Vylette: Well, this is my stop.
Squall: Okay.
Vylette: Thanks for saving me. You know Squall, you dont always have to be alone.
Squall: ...in the end everyone will end up alone. You just have to deal with that.
Vylette: ...what happened to you---?"
Unconciously, she hugged Squall ever so tender just as she does when he was still little. The view shows where Squall was still a child, then going back to the grown one. Vylette whispered.
Vylette: Im sorry ...its my fault.
Squall: ....?....
Vylette: Good-night...
She did not turn around and entered the door immidiately where she does not want Squall to witness her tears. She was standing facing her door, touching it as if still feeling Squall out there. Where he still is...
Squall: Good night too...Vylette (he quietly whispered)
He also touched the surface of the door. As you can see, the both of them were hand in hand if shown in sideviews.
Vylette: I never thought he would be this way because of me...Squall became cold because I broke my promise. He was sweet and warm when I was still with them. He waited for 12 long years, and I never came back. Im sorry Squall...
Later in the dormitory, Squall changes to his normal clothing. He cant forget how Vylette hugged him, he felt safe, warm and happy. A mixed familiar feeling he knew from somewhere before. Then he proceeds to the Training Center.
Quistis: Come on, let's go to the 'secret area'. It's just inside the training center.
In the secret area...
Quistis: I haven't been here for a while.
While Squall and Quistis get a view of Balamb Garden...
Quistis: What time is it?
Squall: It's after midnight.
Quistis: Oh well... I, Quistis Trepe, am no longer an instructor as of now! I'm a member of SeeD now, just like you. Who knows, maybe we'll end up working together.
Squall: ...Oh really?
Quistis: Is that all you're going to say? Or your mind is just clouded because of that new girl! She must've been flattered by that brawl fest she just caused!
Squall: She has a name, its Vylette. And it wasnt her fault! In your case If that's how the council decided, you have to abide by it.
Quistis: They told me that I failed as an instructor. Basically, that I lacked leadership qualities. I was a SeeD by the age of 15, got my instructor license at 17... It's only been a year since I got it... I wonder where I went wrong... I did my best... Are you listening?
Squall: Are you done yet...? I don't wanna talk about it. What am I supposed to say about other people's problems?
Quistis: I'm not asking you to say anything. I just want you to listen.
Squall: Then go talk to a wall.

Squall went out of the area and waited for Quistis outside.

It's the woman that Squall saw in the infirmary glass.
Ellone: Squall!!! Squall! Quisty?
Squall pulls out his gunblade and he and Quistis fights Granaldo and three Raldos. After killing them...
White SeeD Member: It is not safe here. Please, let's go.
Ellone: Alright.
Ellone and the soldiers left.
Quistis: Who was that...?
Later in the hallway...
Quistis: Squall. It's not like everyone can get by on their own, you know? (she left)
Squall: ...Says who?
ASs Quistis walked a few steps away, she thought of something, surprising.
Quistis: ... [...Wait a minute, did Squall just defended that girl Vylette a while ago? Of all the years I've known him I've never seen him defend anybody. He usually says "whatever", "i dont care" and "maybe". But now...]
Squall goes to the dormitory. In the hallway...
Zell: Where the hell were you? I was lookin' all over the place. We're both now members of SeeD, right? Well, guess what!? We got our own rooms, baby! Your new room's right across the hall from your old one. That's what I was asked to tell you. Man, it took me forever! Hey and is Vylette all right?
Squall: Yes she is, I brought her to her room.
Zell: Man! You are one lucky guy.
Squall goes into the room.
Squall: I'll just go to sleep...
He then dreamt of a boy in the rain leaning by a pillar of a stone house crying outside.
Boy: Whatever happens...I'll wait here, I'll wait for you...You promised to come back. You promsed. [sob]
The next morning...
Selphie: Squall, it's our first SeeD mission! Looks like we're going to [Timber]. Meet [by the front gate]. Hurry!
Squall: So this was what Seifer meant...damn!
Squall got up and went out. As he was running he saw Vylette on a bench with Seifer all bruised up. And she was nursing his wounds. She was laughing as Seifer twisted his face in pain.
Vylette: Te-hee...! Be still! >giggles<
Seifer: Ouh! That hurt!
Squall: .....
Squall sighed and run pass them like he didnt even see them.
Vylette: Hi! Hey...Squall...
Seifer: Seed members are just big heads. They're too high to be reached.
Squall did not say anything but he just noded his head and run ahead. He didnt want to see Vylette because he knew he might look at her and get jealous seeing her with Seifer. Later at the front gate...
Garden Faculty: ...One more minute...
Zell suddenly arrived with his T-Board.
Zell: Made it!
Garden Faculty: T-Boards are prohibited within Garden. Have you forgotten?
Zell: Oops, sorry! But this is really cool. It may come in handy on a SeeD mission, someday.
Garden Faculty: We'll be the judges of that. Confiscate it.
The other faculty took the T-Board from Zell.
Garden Faculty: All of you are members of SeeD, but... Nevertheless, you're still students at this Garden. Furthermore, because you are SeeDs, you must set an example to all others and abide by the Garden's rules. Understood!?
Headmaster Cid: Well, about your first mission... You are to go to Timber. There, you will be supporting a resistance faction. That is your mission. A member of the faction will contact you at Timber Station.
Garden Faculty: This person will talk to you and say, 'The forest of Timber sure have changed'. At this time, you must reply, 'But the owls are still around'. That is the password.
Headmaster Cid: Just follow the faction's orders.

Squall's group heads to Balamb. They purchase train tickets and got on the train. The train goes into the underwater tunnel. Inside the train.
Zell: This train is awesome! A transcontinental railroad, baby! It even runs through an underwater tunnel to get to Timber. (to Squall) Pretty cool, huh?

Rinoa: President Deling is taking a private train from the Galbadian capital.
Squall: Galbadians! Men in blue uniforms! I...I dipise them!
Selphie: Squall?
Squall: Dont mind me...
Zell: Why do you hate Galbadians so much?

Zell: Tch, fine.
Zone: Are you finished? Our plan is to...
Selphie: ...Blow it to smithereens with a rocket launcher!?

That means, we'll have to switch our 'dummy car' with their 'president's car'. We'll use the 2 switch points leading up to Timber to carry out this operation. Ok, now I'm going to explain the procedures in seven steps. We'll get on the roof of the '2nd escort' by jumping from our 'dummy car'.
Watts: The '2nd escort' car is the only one that is equipped with sensors, sir.
Rinoa: A high tech officer is onboard. I'll talk about the sensors later. We can move across the roof of the 'president's car' without worrying too much.
Zone: Deling hates the company of his guards and being surrounded by sensors, and keeps them away from his car.
Rinoa: We have to complete the uncoupling before the 1st switch point. If we don't...

Squall's group fights two Galbadian Soldiers. After killing them, they received a Buel Card dropped by the dead soldiers.

Suddenly, Seifer came and crashed the speech.
Selphie: Heeey!
Zell: Seifer!
The Galbadian Soldiers tried to restrain him and get him out but Seifer fought them. Then Seifer placed his gunblade on President Deling.
Selphie: What's he doin'!?
Zell: Instructor Trepe!?
Quistis: (to the Galbadian Soldiers) Stay back! You'll only provoke him.
Vylette: Seifer! Let him go! You're going to get everyone in trouble!
Cameraman: Whoa! Look at that babe! (turns to the camera to her)
Vylette looked quite different but sexy. She was now wearing a simple white sleeve less top with a T printed balck, high boots and short skirt. She had dangling earrings (cute)...and a few accesories.
Squall: Vylette!? Whats goin on?!
Selphie: Seifer was suppose to guard her, not drag her into a dangerous mission! On screen.
Seifer: This is the action I was telling you about princess!
Outside.
Zell: Squall, what are we gonna do!?
Quistis: For the last time, stay back! Everyone! I know you're watching this please get over here quickly, we need your help!
Squall: He's out of his mind! Lets go!
Squall's group immediately heads into the TV Station. Inside...
Quistis: We need to restrain him!
Squall: (to Seifer) What do you think you're doing?
Seifer: It's obvious, ain't it!? What are you planning to do with this guy?
Squall: ...Planning to do? (That's right... He knows Rinoa. Is that why he's here?)
Zell: I get it! You're doing this to impress Vylette!
Seifer: Shut your damn mouth! Chicken-wuss!
Rinoa: Seifer...
Quistis: There's no arguing once Seifer sets his mind on something.

Just as VYlette was about the approach Zell, she got dizzy and fainted but Squall was able to catch her.

Zell: Instructor, I know! You're gonna take this stupid idiot back to Garden, right!?
Squall: Shut up! NO!
President Deling: I see... So you're all from Garden. Should anything happen to me, the entire Galbadian military will undoubtedly crush Garden. You can let go of me now.
Seifer: (to Zell) Nice going, Chicken-wuss! You and your stupid big mouth! Take care of this mess! Instructor and Mr. Leader! And...take care of Vylette...in my place.
Seifer with his gunblade on the president steps to the other room. Quistis follows him.
Squall: Selphie, Rinoa...you stay with Vylette. I'll go do what I can. Zell you come with me...
On the other room.
Seifer: !?
???: ...Poor, poor boy...
Seifer: Stay away from me!
It's the mysterious sorceress.
Edea: Such a confused little boy. Are you going to step forward? Retreat? You have to decide.

The sorceress cast something to push back Quistis.

Squall's group met up with Quistis and Rinoa.
Rinoa: They found our base. It's completely destroyed.
Selphie: And everyone else?
Rinoa: They're fine. They're good at escaping.
Squall: Selphie...where's Vylette?
Selphie: We brought her in the old lady's house, she's resting there.

They move on. Squall's group met Rinoa and Quistis in the ground.
Rinoa: We have to stay away from Timber for a while. Is there a safe place you can take me?

Squall moves on. They met up with Rinoa and Quistis in the pub.
Woman: Rinoa! I heard your base is in serious trouble. Come over to my place until things settle down.
Rinoa: I appreciate it. Thank you...

Squall's group met up with Rinoa and Quistis again.
