An Unexpected Surprise

The docks of Balamb were quite that evening and the trains have stopped for the night. All seemed tranquil except for the sound of high heels running on the hard, cold cement. The doors of the Balamb bar opened wide as a womanly figure burst through them. Sprinting, she ran for the docks, as two men left the bar swearing at her. One of the men began to run after her, this girl, in pursuit, was now growing angry for it began to rain. The bottom of her black dress became soaked as came to the docks and turned hard left. Fumbling in her pocket she pulled out a ring of keys,

“I come unarmed and in peace.” She told the Seed’s, standing up

“What business do you have here?” One of them shouted

“I have urgent news. For the headmaster” She spoke softly

“Lair!” Another one shouted and they all attacked and engaged her in combat.

All 5 of them were out cold as the girl searched for the ballroom. Soon she found it, as she stood on the ballroom’s stairs, she looked around. She began to walk to the beverage table, she grabbed the wine bottle and drank from the bottle, she put down the bottle and wiped her mouth with her arm. While taking another sip from the bottle, Irvine walked up to her.

“You know, if you wanted wine you should have like, poured some.” Irvine told her keeping his cool “so what’s your name.”

The girl looked right at him.

“Naomi” She spoke coldly to him.

He looked back at her. Naomi is tall and slim; she has brown eyes and has dark brown hair with the exact same hair style as Laguna. She wore a ring on her left hand, and had a necklace with army tags on it. She seemed like rough and tough girl that you wouldn’t dare trifle with. Depending on her mood she could easily become angry, but it depends on what you say, but then again she has her womanly side just as well, so in short you might say that she is a Girlish tomboy that you wouldn’t mess with.

“Say, what happened to you look soaked” Irvine started

“That’s because I was in the rain dumbass” Naomi snapped

“Whoa!! I’m sorry baby, say why do you and I go for a little walk” He said full of charm.

“YOU mister can take that walk by your self and besides I don’t have much interest in a ladies-man cowboy” She said while she took off his hat and shoved it in his face, and walked away.

Irvine, surprised, held the hat at his chest and watched her walk away.

Naomi was still searching through a large crowd of people and finally ran into Someone.

“Ahh” Naomi said startled

“Hey!” Zell turned around “Whoops sorry”

“No, I, I’m sorry I was looking for some one and I didn’t mean to bump into you” Naomi apologized.

“Say, I’ve never seen you around before…who are you? And why are you here?” Zell asked

“I’m Naomi. I am searching for a few people. I need certain answers from each of them. Do you know where the head master is?” Naomi explained

“Um, well there was head master Cid but he was replaced with my buddy Squall.” Zell informed

“I need to see Cid” Naomi told him.

“Cid…um, I think he’s talking to Quistis… yeah he’s over there beside that fire place” Zell told her

“Thank you very much…um???” Naomi smiled

“Oh! I’m Zell” He answered Naomi

“Thank you Zell” Naomi smiled again

Naomi left and walk to Cid once she reached him she tapped his shoulder.

“Former headmaster Cid” Naomi asked assertively

“Yes” Cid answered

“I need certain information from you Sir,” Naomi started; she looked around and then whispered to him.

“Oh! I’ve only heard of him I’ve never met him” Cid instructed her

“Some one said he’d be here, I need to find him” Naomi pleaded

“Squall knows him quite well, you should see Squall, and he’s out on the north balcony” Cid pointed to the north balcony

Naomi thanked him and walked quickly to see Squall.

“Are you Headmaster Squall?” Naomi asked entering the balcony

“Yeah but don’t call me that, can I help you” Squall answered her “do you mind if I ask who you are?”

“Pardon me, I am Naomi, please you have to help me I’ve been to 4 people trying to find Laguna!” Naomi stated annoyed

“I have no idea where to find him, I’m sorry” Squall confessed

“Ugh! Dammit! Do you know any body who can find him?” Naomi asked angrily

“Ellone, she knows Laguna” Squall informed “Ellone is here at the party”

“Well, thanks” Naomi said as she walked away

She sat down beside the beverages table, and grabbed a wine glass, she was thinking, about Ellone. She met Ellone once and also thought of horrible dreams she had and became angry and broke the wine glass in her hand. Dr. Kadowaki came over to her.

“You look sick girl” Dr. Kadowaki warned her

“Thank you” Naomi snapped sarcastically

“Now, come on, Lets go” She told Naomi

“Wha..?” Naomi questioned

“We need to take of those wounds, and you’ll get sick sitting here drinking and soaking wet, besides you look like you haven’t slept for days” Dr. Kadowaki took Naomi’s wrist and brought her to the Infirmary where she gave her a shot that made Naomi sleepy.

As the party ended, Laguna standing in the middle of the dance floor looked at the ring on his left hand. Ellone came up behind him and put her hand on his shoulder. Laguna turned around and hugged her.

“Uncle Laguna” Ellone sighed

“I wanted to be there I really did” Laguna said softly “beside Raine when she died, I mean I never even got to see her kid, hell I don’t even know what the kids name is, Ellone, but when I saw you that day it seemed to make every thing else seem to dissapear. While I was so happy I didn’t even know what was happening to Raine.” Laguna became teary

“I know, I know, I wish you could have been there, and me too.”

The next day was bright and cheery, the birds sang and after Naomi awoke she was standing by a window watching them sing, they were….so happy.

“Damn!” Naomi said to those happy cheerful birds “damn you” she began to yell at them

“you know yelling at birds doesn’t solve much” Dr. Kadowaki said entering the room.

“I know, but it makes you feel better, yelling at them your life is utter crap and they sit there singing boastfully it’s like there laughing at you I hate them” Naomi griped

“Oh, there’s some one here to see you” Dr. Kadowaki told Naomi

“Hi, Squall told me you were looking for me at the party” Ellone told Naomi “I am here now”

Naomi walked up to her slowly and stared at her

“I need to see Laguna” Naomi demanded

“Uncle Laguna?”Ellone questioned “why do you need to see him?”

“There is something about myself I do not understand” she walked back to the window and put her hands on the sill “only he can answer the question I have to ask.”

“I see”Ellone asked “well, he was at the party last night…were you there?”

“Yes” Naomi looked at the floor “I was trying to find him.”

“You should go to Esthar.” Ellone said “He’s the president.”

“Of that huge place” Naomi went wide-eyed.

“Yes, would you like to join my friends and I for Dinner tonight?” Ellone smiled

“If I must” Naomi said

Ellone then dragged Naomi everywhere into stores to buy some nice clothes.

“Why can’t I just wear the clothes I have” Naomi said rubbing her foot at Ellone’s home after all the shopping.

“Because you need to be presentable” Ellone said throwing things out of her closet “Aha! I found the best shirt for you.”

Naomi looked at it. It was all white and sparkly and it was done up at the sides with rings and it also had a large ring which connected with the shirt in the middle of the chest. She also noticed it was done up with strings at the back.

“This is very extravagant” Naomi said “I don’t deserve to wear this”

“Sure you do” Ellone smiled “it doesn’t fit me…so I want you to have it.”

“Really?” Naomi looked into Ellones face

“Yeah…it’s a present since you know Uncle Laguna” Ellone said folding all the clothes back in a box. “ you can try the shirt on and see how it fits with the skirt you have, which is very lovely.”

Naomi came out with the shirt on

“Ellone?” Naomi questioned.

Ellone turned around “Wow! It looks so good.” Ellone said clasping her hands.

“Really...hmmm” Naomi stood puzzled with her index finger and thumb pressed in her lip.

“Hey squall” Zell shouted.

“Quiet Zell” Squall turned around.

“Whatcha’ doin’”Zell asked looking at squall.

“Nothing….waiting for Ellone”Squall confessed

“*Tsk*ohhhhhhh” Zell smiled and elbowed squall’s arm.

“What?!? NO!?!” Squall said frowning

“Come on’ I am just kidding.” Zell said rubbing Squall’s shoulder vigorously.

Quistis, Seifer and Rinoa(in her white dress) sat and waited at the table for squall, Irvine, selphie, Zell and Ellone. Squall and Zell arrived shortly and Squall sat with Rinoa and Zell sat on the other side by himself. Irvine arrived and sat with Zell.

Quistis raised and Eyebrow “Irvine…your fly’s undone”

“I’m here!” Selphie said throwing her arms in the air. Quistis notices little sweat bead’s falling from Selphies head and raised her eyebrow again.

With red cheeks Irvnie zipped his fly. Seifer began laughing as Ellone came to the table.

“Hi guys, I want you to meet some one” Ellone smiled while cocking her head to the side. “This is Naomi.”

Squall stood up with all the other guys (except Zell) “I believed we met at last night’s party.”

Naomi shook Squall’s hand as Zell stood up suddenly

“I..uh” Zell began when Quistis butted in.

“I believe we also met at the party” Qustis said

Irvine, Zell and Squall nodded along with her.

“I’m Siefer” he said sitting down.

“This is Selphie” Irvine added.

“I remember you” Naomi pointed at Irvine. Irvine began to sink in his chair.

The dinner went on long with jokes and laughs and then the food came.

“So where are you from Naomi?” Squall asked.

“I don’t know” Naomi said.

“What about parents?” Zell asked

“Died.”Naomi said.

“Oh I’m sorry” Rinoa said

“Tell us more about your self” Irvine stated.

“Um, well I don’t know where I was born but, I lived in winhill until I was 6 then I just travelled around the world. I was in a bar at 14 once and I herd some one talk about Laguna. So I was travelling until 17 which I went to another bar and found out there was a party with Laguna there so I was determined to find him, so I stole balamb’s harbour keeper’s keys and took a speed boat to the garden. And now I’m here” Naomi told them.

After more talks and jokes dinner was over and the group went home. Naomi told Ellone she would come by later. Naomi stood looking out the balcony window of her hotel room.

*knock* *knock*

“Come in” Naomi sighed

“Hey,” Zell poked his head in.

“Oh, hi” Naomi said turning around

“So, why haven’t you left yet?”Zell said walking to the balcony

“I dunno…I like looking at the stars.” Naomi said looking at them again.

“Yeah, I do that too” Zell said resting his arms on the rail.

Naomi looked at Zell staring out into the sky.

“What about you?” Naomi said looking down and then gazed at his face.

“What about me?”Zell said smiling at her.

“Well, where are you from and what about your parents” Naomi asked him.

“Hm…well I never knew where I was actually from and I never knew my real parents but I have a nice home in Balamb with my adoption mom.”Zell explained to her. “When’s your birthday”

“Um I think it was August 26th some time. But then again, I am not really sure” Naomi looked up to the sky again “I have always been one of those people like, who have never belonged any where” She turned around and looked in the hotel room and leaned backwards with her elbows on the railing.

Zell stood up straight and stood in front of her.

“That’s easy to fix…”He said looking at her eyes “You can belong with us” he gave her a thumbs up.

She started laughing at him “Zell, have you ever had a date”

“Say…Wha?” Zell stuttered.

Naomi continued to laugh until Zell leaned over gently and pressed his lips against Naomi’s. Naomi looked at Zell as he pulled his lips away and opened his eyes. Naomi closed her eye’s and kissed his soft lips again. He sipped his hand onto her cheek and let the moment take him. Naomi brushed some hair out of Zell’s face and placed her hand atop of his. Suddenly a tiny Knock pulled them from their sweet fantasy.

“I should go” Naomi mumbled as she walked towards the door. She opened it at left.

Then seconds later Irvine opened the door,

“You dog you,” Irivine grinned.

“Shut-up Irvine” Zell snapped as he put his hands on the railing.

Selphie came in the room

“Come on Irvine…leave Zell alone”

Naomi woke up with her pillows in disarray; she sat up and slid out of the side of the bed. She looked in the mirror as she grabbed her clothes and got dressed. She walked down the stairs to see Squall and his group talking at the breakfast table. She went to the cupboard and brought out a package of ammunition and left. She looked around and remembered she was in Timber. She was still fatigued from the long turbulent travel from Galbaidia to Timber last night but she threw her gun to her shoulder and walked off to the bridge any way. She walked for hours but it seemed longer, she stepped on the hard cement bridge entrance. She lifted the yellow road block and kept on walking.

“Wait” Familiars voices called to her

Ellone appeared “You can’t go without us”

“Yeah” Irvine and Selphie said.

“All the monsters that fell from the moon have not all been exterminated” Rinoa added

“You might get really hurt”Quistis complained

“This is a very unwise decision” Squall said

“I don’t care if I lack leadership qualities, I don’t care if I got really hurt, I am doing this alone. It’s between me and him” Naomi looked very upset.

Zell remained silent

“Who’s him?” Squall asked

“Laguna” Naomi answerd

“Well, like it or not I’m going with you” Ellone said walking up to her.

Rinoa and Selphie joined in and finally Irvine and Quistis did. Squall nodded and went with them. They all stood there looking at Zell until he decided to go.

“We should split into 2 parties” Naomi stated.

“Ok, I’ll take, Rinoa, Irvine,” Squall rolled his eyes “and Selphie”

“Ok so it’s you four” Quistis said “I’ll go with you guys.”

“So it’s Squall, Rinoa, Irvine, Selphie and Quistis in one group” Naomi said “and Ellone, Zell, Seifer with me. Ok let’s set off”

The bridge went on forever. 3 weeks went by before they got to FH. They stooped there for a short break. The next day was dull and rainy but the group still trudged on. For another 2 weeks when they finally got to Esthar. Naomi not giving up hope immediately went to the Presidential office.

The two guards stopped her.

“What business do you have here” The left Guard asked her.

“I am here to speak with Laguna, Kiros and Ward.” Naomi said.

“Oh didn’t you hear” The right guard said politely “Laguna went home”

“Home” Naomi whispered before turning around rapidly and taking off.

Ellone suddenly held her head

“Ellone are you alright” Squall said coming to her aid.

“Yes, I just got a picture in my head but it gave me a terrible headache.”

They took Ellone to a place for rest. And Rinoa and Ellone were all by themselves.

“What did you see?” Rinoa asked looking through some books on the shelf.

“Hum, what do you mean?” Ellone said lifting the wet cloth off her fore head.

“Well at the presidential palace you said you saw a picture...what was it Ellone?” Rinoa asked sitting down on the couch beside Ellone.

“I don’t know… it was a blur of a mother with a baby it was like an old video tape with music like a music box playing a lullaby.” Ellone said looking at the ceiling. “And it was very fuzzy-like”

“Hum, that’s very strange” Rinoa said standing up “when do you think the boys’ll be back”

The door slammed then with Irvine, Zell, Squall and Seifer coming up the stairs in Esthar's deluxe hotel room.

“Woo, it is cold out there!” Zell said coming into the room taking off his gloves. Irvine and Squall followed, taking off their coats and jackets.

“Any way” Ellone said sitting up “the picture, that I saw the woman looked a lot like Raine”

“Really?” Rinoa replied helping Squall with his coat.

“Yeah…well goodnight” Ellone stood up and went to her room.

“I’m gonna hit the hay too” Zell stretched and left for his room.

“Goodnight everybody” Rinoa said to Irvine, Zell and Ellone.

Rinoa and Squall went to their room and sat on the bad talking.

“Ok, so whaddya wanna do?”Rinoa said

“I dunno…”Squall replied

“Well, hm that picture that Ellone saw of Raine”Rinoa started “What do you think it means?”

“You know what?” Squall said “I think we should just let it be and see if she can figure it out you, know.”

He leaned over and kissed Rinoa softly then got up and went to the washroom beside the bed and looked in the mirror. He ran his fingers along the scar and stopped at his chin when Rinoa came in and gently grabbed his hand. She pulled him out of the bathroom and into bed.

The snow hitting the windshield was like buckets of snow piling on over and over. Naomi frantically tried to wipe the windows off with the windshield wipers. The road was ice and driving was hard. Naomi managed to get as far as F.H. But drove right passed it. Suddenly she hit a large patch of ice and abruptly, she rammed into the side of the bridge. The impact caused the bridge to crumble and with the pile of rumble from bridge wreckage that fell in the ocean Naomi went with it. Still conscious she swam to the top and not letting the accident stop her, she swam for land.

“So, what made you suddenly come home for” Kiros asked Laguna.

“You know what I don’t really know” Laguna said picking up his coffee mug “Hey, Kiros, you don’t have to wear that stupid outfit anymore you can dress formally like me”

“Really?” Kiros asked sarcastically

“Yeah…Ward too” Laguna said sipping his drink again. “Did you hear anything about Julie?”

“Julie had a daughter, her name is Rinoa” Kiros said pouring some wine into glass.

Laguna suddenly spat out his coffee “*cough* *cough* wha..what?!?”

“Remember when Raine told you about Julie marrying a Military man, they had a daughter and called her Rinoa.”Kiros smartly said sitting down and crossing his legs.

“Whoa I didn’t know that” Laguna sighed scratching the back of his head, and then he stood up and picked up a picture of Raine and a baby.

“So when you weren’t around Raine had a baby before she died, it was the night in the field wasn’t it Laguna” Kiros said.

“Yeah” Laguna nodded “What a night!”

Zell moved around and kept sitting up. He got so frustrated he threw his blankets up and went to get a drink. He walked on the cold hard wood floors into the kitchen. He poured a glass of water and started to walk back up the stairs. In complete blackness he got to the top of the stairs and was standing on something fuzzy he moved forwards and he slipped backwards and fell down the stairs.

“ow sunava ow blachicashnalfone” Zell said while hitting each step on the way down. “awww I spilt my water” he sat up on the bottom holding Irvine’s hat confused

“Oh my god what happened” Rinoa said trotting down the stairs and turning on the lights.

“Nothing, I slipped on Irvine’s hat and fell down the stairs” Zell said with Rinoa helping him up

Irvine and Selphie came out in robes.

“What happened” Selphie said throwing her arms up and down.

“Zell fell down the stairs” Squall looked at Selphie in her robe and raised an eyebrow.

Rinoa poured Zell a new glass of water and gave it to Zell when they went up stairs. Zell passed Irvine and looked at him with a frown and shoved him his hat.

Naomi opened her eyes slightly, she batted them, looking into a blue ceiling a Shumi villager pooped in her eyesight.

“Hello” He smiled

“Ah!” Naomi shouted and sat up abruptly hitting her head on the top bunk. She lay back down and held her head.

“Welcome Miss.” The shumi said

“The hell?” Naomi asked rudly covering her eyes.

“No you’re in Shumi village” He said going over to the kitchen.

She sat up slowly “who are you?”

“Oh! Sorry my name is Gyoken” The Shumi said “what’s your name”

“Naomi” she said standing up. She held her forehead “Where?”

“Oh I guess I should tell you that one of our villagers left to get more supplies like food and such, and he was coming home when he spotted you floating astray on our beaches so he brought you here” Gyoken said washing the dishes

“Well, I thank you for your hospitality but I must leave!” She said heading for the door

“Wait!” he shouted scooting in front of her “you can’t leave yet you have to meet master first!”

Naomi sighed deeply…meanwhile back at the garden

Zell stood at the balcony with his head resting on his hands with the breezing blowing around him.

“Hey!” Rinoa poked his shoulder “Whassa matter you look sad”

“No, it’s just I’m worried about Naomi she hasn’t come back yet” Zell sighed

“Oooooo” Rinoa clued in

“No, no it’s not that” Zell said sweating

“Ok...whatever you say! Well, I’m gonna go make some ooey gooey chocolate goodie oozing fudge with choco chips and hot melting sweet sugar with a bursting taste of hot chocolate fudge gooying around melting and sizzling in your mouth brownies”

“Boy, you should be a writer” Zell said scratching his head

Naomi was dressed up in a funny costume…she felt she had no choice. Gyoken led her to their master

“Well, this is wonderful” The master said “A visitor”

“She knows Laguna quite well sir,” Gyoken

“Laguna?” The master was indeed surprised “Send her in, Send her in”

While she was waiting the costume was getting to hot she quickly got out of it and tied up her skirt but unfortunately did not have enough time to grab her shirt when Gyoken snatched her Wrist. She entered the room and covered her gathered her self in her arms.

“What is that our wearing” The master asked

“It’s a bra ok...I apologize but your costume is too hot” She explained while the strap came loose and fell apart at the top. She grabbed that strap when the room suddenly filled with heat and darkness. She turned around and heard the sound of drums, the door burst open and a group of large men in leopard skins stabbed their staff through Gyoken and held the master against the wall. Naomi took her claws out and jumped to the ceiling defending the master.
“You brought these men here!” The master said to Naomi
“What?” She said startled still fighting them off “I did not!”

But with that said the master smacked her across the face with his gigantic hand and sent her flying out the door. One man grabbed her and took her out of the Shumi village…which was burned that night.

Naomi opened her eyes again and found her arms tied up behind her, he army tags dangled in front of her and sweat dripped down her neck, They opened the curtains speaking a bizarre language she had never heard of when the changed her clothe to a white dress. She listened to their conversation closely and heard a word close to “Sacrifice” She shook her head and grabbed her small knife from her old clothes and cut the rope. Figuring that there was no time to get dressed, she picked up her clothes and cut a large hole in their tent and sped away through the snowy jungle.

With snow falling through the gaps between the trees her bare feet soon became numb. Feeling weak she stopped and turned around, and she still saw the bright flames of the villagers searching for her. She started jogging and a sharp pain suddenly inflicted the back of her head. Everything went blurry for a minute she refocused her vision and the flames got closer she kneeled down and felt another sharp pain go straight into her shoulder. She looked down at her right arm and saw the dart that went stuck out at the front. In pain she slowly started pulling it out then went for it and pulled with all he strength. She cried out in pain, threw the dart and stared down at the warm blood that left her and watched it soak i

She opened her eyes to the warm and comforting face of…Zell, wait, that wasn’t Zell. She opened her eyes wider to a big man. She obviously notice couldn’t talk when he didn’t say anything to her when she opened her eyes. She lay there when she heard a voice; she sat up and looked to see a black man standing at the corner of the room.

“We’re glad you’re awake” Kiros said Smiling as he came over. “Well Laguna will be pleased he thought you were a goner”

“La-Laguna?” Naomi stuttered surprised

“Yeah, he’s downstairs pacing around in circles like his wife was givin’ birth.” Kiros laughed

“That’s not funny.” Naomi said sadly and sat up and noticed that she was in her underwear “Are there any women here?”

“If you wondering the next door neighbour lady helped us with you, Laguna offered to do it, but the lady wouldn’t let him” He laughed “He thought you were kinda cute, I told him to forget because you have a ring on your finger” he closed the door and left

Ward sat there with a blank stare. She wrapped herself in a blanket around her and went to the walk in closet and changed. She Sat on the bed and looked up into ward’s eyes when Laguna peeked through the door to hear what she said to him.

“It must be hard…to not be able to say anything.” Naomi said “It’s hard when you have to explain things with gestures and eye expressions.”

“Hey!” Laguna decided to but-in “You’re awake! Glad to see it!” His voice was still energetic and young “So come on have lunch with us and tell us all you need to tell us.”

They sat down to lunch and Naomi looked around and ran her hand along the smooth and dry wood, it was very old. She looked at the wine glasses which were stained and dusty.

“How long has it been?” Naomi trailed off

“Since what?” Laguna asked.

“Since this place was used?” Naomi said trying not to hurt Laguna’s feelings of Raine

Laguna wasn’t hurt but a little sad “Oh I’d say about 10-15 years…in fact after Raine died giving birth…this place hasn’t been used. Except when me and the boys come here”

“You could have turned it into something?” Naomi said sitting down

“I didn’t want to disturb this place any more.” Laguna sighed “but that’s all in the past, now tell us your stories and we’ll tell you ours”

“I’m Naomi, I lived here in Winhill until I was 6 took a gun from one of the guards and got it remodelled when I had the Items, Never knew my parents…though I know who my father is my mother, died and I’ve travelled a long time.” Naomi said “That’s about it for me”

The stories of Laguna, Kiros and Ward had trailed long into the night. The stars came out from hiding in the black twilight of the foggy evening. The time had passed swiftly, when the fog rolled in. Naomi had fallen asleep too many times to Laguna’s rambling. He finished and Ward and Kiros said it was late and time for bed. They left and Naomi got up and walked outside. She walked through the prairie hills of her home town until she stood at Raine’s Grave.

She sighed “I wish I could have met you, you sounded like a wonderful person.”

“Hey, talking to yourself” Laguna came up behind her.

“They way you described it, was so beautiful…I, I had to see it for myself” Naomi said to him.

“Really?” Laguna scratched his head “Well I am a journalist” He turned to leave

“After you left, Raine had a baby, you have never seen that baby, and that baby has never seen you” She blurted out.

“How’d you know?” Laguna asked turning back around.

“Because” She turned to her father and showed him the ring he had given to Raine before she died.

Laguna was stunned; he stood there absolutely puzzled and looked carefully at her. She picked up his arm and held it up the exact same way that Laguna and Raine did that night.

“How did get her ring!” Laguna asked being very clueless

“Before she died she gave it me” Naomi looked at the clouds “She also gave me a letter…that told me to seek you out, Dad” She smiled

“Dad?” Laguna said almost laughing “Dad?” He said again with a serious face and began smiling wildly “Naomi!”

Naomi stood there as it began to snow. She looked at him and ran into his open arms.

“Daddy” She sniffed holding down her tears of joy

“You don’t have to be tough now” Laguna said as he stroked smooth hair “I’m here now. Cry all you want”

She hugged him for a while before he said something to her.

“Look at you, you must be what 19” Laguna smiled “god, look at you all cut up...this actually explains a lot.”
“It does but look” Naomi said pulling picture out of her pocket. “Here on the back it’s labelled”

The picture was labelled Raine, Naomi and Laguna.
“I taped a picture of you I found in Raine…Mom’s photo albums” She said

They looked at each other and cried, both of them…cried

Squall stayed Head master and owned the garden

Rinoa stuck by Squall and eventually got married
Selphie Stayed with Irvine and also got hitched

Quistis and Seifer talked too much and fell in love and they live together

Edea and Kramer got their light house renovated and fixed and lived happily there
Ellone married and still called him “Uncle Laguna”
Kiros and Ward still helped Laguna at the office but Both got married and had kids and miraculously Ward got his voice back
Laguna still was president and visited his daughter to catch-up on the 19 years they missed
Naomi….she’s still around shares a room with Zell, and so wealthy that they own a mansion where all of they’re friends live together.

Naomi finally caught up with her father, who enjoyed every moment until the end of time…together, even though their family was small Raine watched them play from her cloud over the prairies of Winhill.
