The final onslaught.
As Sephiroth emerged from the cave he thought about what would have happened if the clone hadn’t defeated him. The lifestream had tortured him for 18 years, never letting him know rest. It wouldn’t let him die. But he had escaped its wrath. He would have united everything under his absolute power. He would seek his vengeance.
It was the 18th anniversary of the defeat of Sephiroth and everyone was rejoicing. The `hero’s` were sat on a raised platform in Nibelheim. Cloud and Tifa’s 17 year old son (Quinn) was showing off his sword skills to an awed audience. While Barret and Nanaki were having a heated debate on the restoration of Midgar. Marlene and Nanaki’s kids were playing marbles when an injured man stumbled in to the crowd. The music stopped and a silence fell on the crowd. Cloud rose and walked over to the man.
“Who was it?” Cloud asked in a calm voice. The man looked up and managed to say
“A…a army…of monsters…led by…ugh” at that the man died. Cloud barked some orders and some chocobos were led to him.
“Cait, Vincent your with me. Everyone else stay here” and at that they left, Cloud mounted on a pure white chocobo.

When Cait Sith and Vincent saw what was happening Vincent immediately transformed into Chaos and started hurling enemies ten foot into the air. Cait bellowed a war cry and unleashed a barrage of magic that destroyed anything and everything in its path. Unknown to the three warriors the whole town had followed them. Everyone was awed at what they saw. Cloud was completely engulfed by his fury. Everything he saw he destroyed. But he was taking hits. The people who saw the battle would never forget it. But the odds were against them many a monster fell but they were instantly replaced by five more. Vincent was knocked out and Cait fell through absolute exhaustion. Every hit Cloud took doubled his fury. H could see Sephiroth now. He was facing the opposite direction. Cloud took a risk and leaped at Sephiroth. Sephiroth’s reaction was immediate. He spun around and un-sheathed his sword in a single fluid movement. The sword hit Cloud with unbelievable force. Cloud went down with a thud. Sephiroth stood over him and prepared the finishing blow…
