The Brothers Good and Evil:

Part I

“In the Beginning”

Before time was conceived, and when the otherworldly realms were seeking their own prominence, there was a great war between the powers. There stood on one side Jenova, the greatest force in the universe. He was a master swordsman and fought devilishly. He flew the flag of ruthlessness and greed. To oppose him rose all the other powers, but the greatest among them were no doubt the brothers Good and Evil. Good favored the use of the bow, and had Angels that he had the favor of. Evil would often use a mallet or a sword, but his greatest weapon was fear he caused all his enemies. He had under him all the legions of demons, under him rode his valiant general Hades. They opposed the one Jenova for millennia, but they would always lose something in the fight. In one decisive battle, however, Good hit Jenova in the eye with an arrow, while he was crying in pain, Evil mounted an attack. Using the sword of the Hades, he charged at Jenova and Slashed his hardest at the Master. Before the blow fell, Jenova raised defense and cut the sword of Hades in half. The Defeated swordsman fled into the neighboring star and hid for a great long while.

Evil suffered much in the battle as well. His face was near halved. He went the rest of his reign with the mutilation. But he knew that he and Good would have to forge a weapon to combat the Master of the universe. While Jenova hid, Good and Evil combined their powers to bring from the depths their savior. Strife they called him. Form Good, he received grace and fluidity in all his movements. Also the vast knowledge of the Angelic realms. From Evil he received ruthlessness and malice towards the one Jenova and all his off-springs. Also, he knew a great deal of the demonic things. Now the sword of Hades was to be reformed greater then previously. Now it would be called the sword of “Murasame”. In the heavenly language they spoke it was the Sword of Demonic Justice. Now, there weapon would be put to the test.

When they seeked out Jenova, they discovered that he too had pulled from the depths of nothingness a being further then he, as Strife was further then Good and Evil. His name however was “Sephiroth”, or Terrible. He wielded the blade of his master, “Masamune”, or Master Blade. As the beings entered in combat, they showed the full extent of their power. They fought more and more powerfully, more and more swiftly. They redefined combat, they showed the universe how to fight with passion. They were even. They could not prevail in their fighting. But Strife had a more powerful heart. He hated so much his opponent, that he finally prevailed. And in his victory, he attained the immediate fate of his masters. They won. And the universe was now theirs to do with what they pleased. So they became the Fates. Good and Evil. They grew to hate each other over so many years. But Strife remained a sleeping Lion Heart, waiting to do his masters bidding.

As the world is forged, and the inhabitants side with either Evil or Good, Strife waits for Sephiroth, for he is beyond his masters and knows that Terrible is coming again. Although this time, he would be much stronger. But beyond as he was, his masters hid him from the angels and demons for the time. But they will need him again. Soon…..
