Nothing is more important than helping the summoner and their friends.
There were many different summoners- from many different places. Ifrit and the others often went to them when they called- and a few, like phoenix, went even when they weren't summoned- in a desperate situation. Ifrit figured that if they needed his help, they would call him. So he didn't go unless they called. He walked slowly down a stone path. "I think I'll go see Anima…" he thought to himself. All the others avoided Anima. No one knew why, but he was mad. As mad as they come. So crazy, that he had almost destroyed their realm when he had first appeared. Rahmuh and Shiva had imprisoned him within a giant seed pod from a holy tree. It had warped, though, and turned into a horrible warped prison. Only one of the summoners ever used him. He shuddered with the memory of her. That one had tried to kill them all. He didn't blame her, though. Their priorities had changed- to try and protect someone who had tricked them. Ifrit shook away the thought of Yu Yevon. Ifrit was not a thinker. He let Rahmuh, Quetzalcoatl and Shiva do that. He just threw rocks. He sniffed the air. He could hear, no, feel, a familiar song in the air. A few harp strings twanged behind him, and then he was certain. "hello, siren," he growled. "hello, Ifrit, darling- off to see that nasty old anima? why don't you stick around here for a while?" she asked, draping herself over her sea rock. Ifrit sighed. Siren enjoyed playing with the minds of others. "why don't you go see Odin?" he said sweetly. Siren's expression darkened "you're no fun!" she pouted, and disappeared with a few strums of her harp. Ifrit grinned a crooked grin Siren was sensitive about Odin. He had no idea what it was about, but it sure seemed to upset her.
He breathed in the fresh air. He missed it, sometimes. What with the hellfire and brimstone, he wasn't around good air as much as he liked. The realm of Esper was a different place to be in. sometimes, depending where you were, it was a titanic cave, or perhaps a stone platform in the clouds. Often it would be a series of ruins in a grown pine and oak forest, with great redwoods dotting here and there. His hellfire never seemed to burn the trees at all- a fact which never bothered him. He admired the sunlight falling softly through the curtain of leaves, accented by tiny golden lights that stirred up from the leaves when he walked through them. Ifrit gave a small contented sigh. He liked this part of the forest. He was reluctant to leave it, but he had to in order to visit anima.
He had no idea why he went to see the mad creature. Perhaps it was a sense of pity, or perhaps a fear of the same happening to him.
He was shaken from his reverie by a green ball of fluff dropping from above, missing his snout by inches. Carbuncle reared up, causing its ruby to glimmer. "Hello, little one." Ifrit smiled. Carbuncle was no different from the rest of them, he was sure. Even though the little guy had never said a word. Carbuncle made a noise between a chirp and a squeal and jumped onto Ifrit's shaggy red mane, burrowing itself between the horns and sitting there like a cat, his tiny tail swishing back and fourth. Ifrit didn't bother telling him that he was visiting anima- that was the only place this trail led to.
After a while- he heard a familiar whistle in the sky. He waved as Doomtrain swept by at immeasurable speed. He received a responding whistle- but it had almost faded by the time it reached them. No one ever saw much of Doomtrain- not because he was antisocial, simply because he perpetually traveled at almost incomprehensible speeds. Carbuncle gave a small squeak, and Ifrit remembered where he was. He continued to walk. Soon, he noticed it was getting colder. He shivered. It didn't often get cold here. Only when…. He stopped in his tracks. How could he not have not noticed? It was too late now, if he turned back, Carbuncle would think he was afraid. So he plunged on.
As he got closer to the end of the trail, it got colder. Soon, he heard someone shout "Diamond Dust!" he quickly dived aside to avoid the giant block of ice that formed at the spot. Shiva made a gesture with her hand and it shattered, destroying the trees imprisoned in it. "watch where you aim that!" Ifrit roared, accompanied by an angry squeal from Carbuncle. Shiva started, as if shaken from a trance. "oh. Its just you." She muttered "what do you mean! "You could have hurt us!" Shiva responded unexpectedly. "I might hurt poor little carbuncle- but I doubt I could get anything through to that thick skull of yours!" that was what he expected her to say. But instead, "sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Ifrit was taken aback. "huh?" he asked. Maybe there was something wrong. By now, shiva would have jumped all over him and sent them on their way. She seemed really… odd… today. Distracted. "a-are you ok?" he asked, stepping closer and ducking to see her face. "yes. I'm fine. Now leave me alone." She said coldly, and disappeared with a flash of snow. Ifrit looked at Carbuncle. "wow. What was that about?"

Chapter 2- Bahamut
I do not own any gfs, summons, aeons, or anything of that nature. But I do own a copy of warcraft III.(drool)
huh?
What?
Uh... ok.
Im gonna go raise more legions of the undead.
See ya!
Bahamut yawned. When Bahamut yawned, it wasn't a wimpy tiny sound that most people use to re-adjust the pressure in their ears. It was a full throated, violent, half bellowing movement, that could almost be called a growl. He waited for the black smoke to clear before he resumed his original position. As the king of dragons, he preferred to laze about on a large, throne-shaped rock in the middle of the clouds. Until he was summoned.
He felt that familiar tingle in the back of his head. Someone was calling him again. He flapped his iron wings once for a practice shot, then shot off onto his duty.
This time it was one of those that called themselves SeeD. The one in the odd shorts seemed to enjoy summoning him a lot lately. 'must be trying to 'level me up' again. He snickered.
If only these humans knew what fun he and his comrades had messing with their minds. 'Please," he thought. 'If we really got stronger from destroying those insignificant monsters, Ill eat my scales.' It was fun, however, to watch them spend hours on end trying to 'raise their HP'
He pulled his black flames back in his throat to prepare for a mega flare. This little blue monkey -creature wouldn't know what hit him.

when he re-entered Esper, he noticed something odd. The Cloud Gate that transported them to where they were summoned had a few coal-black vines creeping up around the base of the pillars. He brushed it off, flying back to his rock to yawn some more. "Diablo must be redecorating.
He heard a familiar whistle, and looked up just in time to see Doomtrain steam by. The train had a panicked expression on his jagged face. Bahamut flapped his great metal wings and flew alongside him, ignoring the whistling wind.
"Anything wrong?" he asked, almost shouting above the rush. Doomtrain nodded, and began in his slow speech, so unused and slightly crackling from an internal forge.
"Yesterday, I noticed something wrong. There was strange dark ivy growing in the forest below. Shiva was practicing there shortly before it happened." Bahamut paused to think, still easily keeping pace.
"hmmm... has anyone else visited the area?" he asked, gazing down as if to see beyond the clouds. "yes. Ifrit and Carbuncle were near there, probably to see Anima again." Bahamut sighed. "just because Ifrit is one of the first, and Carbuncle is , quite frankly, adorable, they think they can go anywhere they want. Anima is mad, there is nothing to it." He shook his regal head.
Doomtrain nodded in agreement as Bahamut flapped down, nearing his rock.
He could hear siren distantly plucking at her harp, and someone or another yelling at her to leave them alone. The harp continued, and shortly after, a huge explosion shook the area. chunks of ice flew everywhere. He laughed slightly. That's what siren got for pestering Shiva.
He sat up quickly, an unkown feeling strumming down his spine. 'shiva?' he wondered. 'Shiva never yells, except at Ifrit, or when something is really wrong...'
He rustled his wings. 'looks like its time to grace the others with my prescence.'

He zoomed down to the ground, feeling the frigid chill that usually surrounded Shiva. "just stop following me!" she shrieked. Bahamut noticed her blue hair was slightly loose, falling down from its intricate designs. "But the soothing sounds of the harp-" "don't you get it? YOUR HARP HAS NO SOOTHING SOUNDS!" Bahamut winced inwardly. Ifrit must have 'really' pissed her off this time.
Leaves blew in all directions as he calmly landed on the ground a few yards from the two. "oh great, look who's chosen to come down from up high." Muttered Siren. Bahamut shot her a warning glare. "Lady Shiva," he began. The being in question just sighed and pushed some stray hair out of her face. "Just can it, Bahamut. I'm not in the mood."
Ifrit chose that moment to lumber into the clearing, groaning and turning away when he saw the assemblage. "Just a moment, iffy," said Siren sweetly. Ifrit stiffened at that nickname, and turned around. Carbuncle hopped from his shoulder to rub affectionately at Bahamut's clawed feet, like an affectionate cat.
"what did you do this time?" rumbled Bahamut in his deep voice. "I didn't do anything! Shiva's just crazy to begin with" cried the hell-dog. Before anyone could reply or snap back, Bahamut felt a strange presence. Instants later, he felt a horrible blackness. Black vines shot out from all directions, covering all five in a horrible net of darkness.
All he heard before he fell into unconsciousness was the terrified cries of his comrades. After that, there was nothing for a long, long time.

oh, the 'blue monkey-creature' Bahamut mentioned earlier is a wedingo, just in case you wanted to know. And the big guy was being summoned by Zell from final fantasy 8. played it years ago, and I'm just expressing my rage at how we have to level up the summons in every game, when the bastards can do it themselves!

Chapter 3- Siren

welcome, welcome, my loyal viewers! I own nothing by the fabled squaresoft- er, 'square enix'. Final Fantasy is not really owned by one person, but you can be assured that I had no part in the partaking of the game
now then, onward, to victory!

Siren felt so cold. As if frozen, unable to move, see, fight, or scream. The black web quickly met the ground in an unholy union. She could hear a panicked whistle from the outside, Doomtrain must have come. But a little too late. She could hear Shiva screaming something. A name, perhaps. But that didn't matter. The net of darkness, which now shut out all outside things, clung to her skin, sucking out her body heat. It pulsed, slightly, and she felt her energy flowing out of her, as if drunk by a massive force.
Her sea-rock and ocean Illusion had faded, and she heard a remote crack as her harp was shattered into a million pieces. Her eyes, still open, felt dry and cracked, as If she hadn't blinked in days. She gave a strangled cry, but almost no sound came. She realized there was no air left, and panicked. She opened her mouth, and was filled with horror when the darkness filled it, sinking into her throat and nose, and causing her to choke and gag violently.
Suddenly, just as her vision was fading from black to red, she saw a light, in the distance. A shout echoes through her head. "passado!' It cried. She felt a small impact as a barrage of thorns hit the darkness on all sides of her. She felt it being pulled away from her, and ripped out of her mouth. She sucked in air, feeling the pain associated by using unused lungs.
Siren began to cough, wildly, jolting up, and clutching her throat. "Siren," asked a high voice from beside her. The youngest Magus sister, Mindy, was crouched next to her, resting her bee-like backside against the ground. "What happened? What IS this stuff?" siren shook her head, half in bewilderment, and half because she still hadn't gained her air back.
She looked around, wildly. "Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, Carbuncle," she choked out, dropping into a fit of coughing. Mindy nodded quickly, and gestured to her sisters- the tall, flowerlike sister, Sandy, and the larger sister( vaguely reminiscent of a ladybug) Cindy. The two were furiously unleashing attacks on the rest of the darkness. "I have to help my sisters, will you be ok?" asked Mindy. Siren nodded.
"Camisade!" howled Cindy, blasting out of her water-jet at the struggling mass of darkness that covered the dragon king. It shattered slightly, but grew back quickly, as there was more of it. "Razzia!" yelled Sandy, twisting her willowing form to fire several strings of fire at the blob that covered Ifrit and Carbuncle. She carefully avoided Shiva. Fire could destroy her more easily than the darkness could. Mindy began to make quick work of that dark force, as her attack had no element. Within minutes, they had the others free.
Siren had regained her breath, and moved over to the ruins of her shattered harp. The darkness had receded as soon as they had freed everyone else. Carbuncle mewled pitifully, curling up to Mindy, who made a vain attempt to calm him. Bahamut breathed deeply, trying to regain his senses, and his dignity. Ifrit went over to Shiva- who simply sat off to one side, knees drawn up to her forehead. Sandy, who was the best semblance of a friend she had, was sitting with her, puzzled as to why the normally cool-headed Shiva seemed to be having a panic attack.
"what the hell is wrong with her?" asked Ifrit roughly. Sandy glared at him. Shiva looked up, her face as calm as ever. "she's coming. I've thought so for the longest time, but now I'm sure. She's coming." "who's coming?" asked Siren, sulkily holding the largest remaining piece of her harp. "you wouldn't believe me If I told you." Murmured Shiva.
Cindy walked briskly forward. "you guys are lucky! We were flying back from the cloudgate, and Doomtrain came up, yelling like there's no tomorrow. We followed him here, and there was this huge... thing covering the clearing." Mindy continued, carefully cradling carbuncle. "I saw a beam of red light- most likely carbuncle." The tiny green one chirped and purred a little. "then, we heard the sound of Siren's harp being crushed. And we were sure."
They were interrupted by Shiva, who whispered only loud enough for the rest to hear. "That was Diablo's attack. The Dark Messenger. "She murmured, closing her eyes.
The rest gasped. "B-But that doesn't make sense! Diablo's a little weird, arrogant, even- but this? He'd never try to hurt one of us!" cried Ifrit. Shiva laughed, a cold sound that sent a shiver down the everyone's spine. "she always was poetic. The Dark Messenger. That was a warning." She looked up, eyes shining with an old memory.
"Her power. Darkness and Confusion. Possession. If this is her, we're all doomed." Silence echoed through the clearing.
"she is coming."
"Vishnu is coming for all of us."

for those of you who are hindu, or follow the belief system:
erm, this is not meant to offend you. I noted recently that shiva, in addition
to being a famous summon/aeon/GF etc.. is also the hindu god of destruction. So,
I (being the genius I am,) decided that I should create a story.
THIS IS NOT AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE HINDU RELIGION. THIS IS MY INSANITY SHOWNIG THROUGH.
If anyone is offended, I am truly sorry. Send me an email- with lots of angry words and phrases! I will then commit ritual suicide- or something.
